I just read this chapter and came here to say the same thing!

 

I wonder why she didn't tell him that they were targeting her and not her aunt.

Also curious if the MC will tell him. On the one hand, it would be helping him. On the other, it would be damaging his and the girl's relationship.

I'm moderately surprised he's willing to spend all that money on her if there's no real chance of her regaining her appearance. Its not like it was ever her he cared about after all.

 

I wonder if the spring water has other uses besides making cosmetic pills. If so, then this is a tremendous waste. She definitely doesn't need the money after all.

 

Her parents really should have spent more time with her for their own sakes if nothing else. That way, she'd know better than to make unnecessary, powerful enemies for no real reason.

I wonder if she'll help him open a hospital or pharmaceutical company, or just keep him around as her family's personal doctor. Regardless, I expect the Zhangs are not long for this world.

That ought to trigger warning bells for him. It should seem too fishy. He was attacked, kidnapped, poisoned, and "left for dead". Yet fortuitously, out of the blue someone happened by and saved him with a surprisingly effective antidote and then offered him a job to reverse engineer said antidote. Yeah, right.

 

I keep wondering how it'll be brought up that it was the father that acquired the painting. It won't be effective (in shaming the father instead of the MC) if it doesn't happen on the show, but it won't make sense for the people on the show to know more about the painting's history than her.

 

“The real painting of Beautiful Women is in my house and has been since I purchased it from an auction overseas eight years ago.” lol. Honestly, its a wonder he hadn't been caught before this. He travels in the same (or related) circles as the people who own the real paintings after all.

I wish the chapter titles wouldn't spoil the conclusion of the story arcs. The only surprise here was that the "she" in the title was referring to his mother and not Ya Ge. I guess its still too soon for him to turn on her yet.

So, why not take her to court over it? If she was hiding assets, then that should be enough to overturn their prior deal, and its not like his reputation could get any worse at this point. Anything he was trying to hide before has already been exposed.

 

So, basically, he hates that everyone thinks all of his accomplishments come from his ex-wife so he's going to steal his next accomplishment from her...
