Recommendations Recommendation for the most heart wrenching novel you have ever read

    Hello, a fellow masochist here. I love to read stories that redden my eye, poke my heart, and hurt my gut, tragedy and angst is life! I have finished ‘One Night, One Day, One Year, One Lifetime‘, ‘Mulberry Song’, ‘Ballad of Thousands Gu’, and ‘Lament at Changmen Palace’ and ‘A Game To Make Him Fall +sequel’. Can someone recommend me similar pieces that could tear my heart like the stories above? and while at it which one of the above have you read and which one do you think is the most painful story to read? Thanks ahead

    Seven seeds (manga) winter arc, the selther arc
    Hako no Naka (bl)

    Is an anime okay? I bawled so hard watching Maquia/sayoasa.. such a show of pure familial love. Same goes with Violet Evergarden (episode 10, this single episode bumped my rating on that whole series). I also love I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (this had light novel version too).

    For light novel exclusive, the only thing I remember on top of my head is Ame no Hi no Iris I guess. edit : someone had already mentioned it so I will second him/her. It was almost 10 years ago that I've read this and I don't remember the story at all, but I vividly remember that it was very heart-wrenching.

    Tada, Sore Dake de Yokattan desu, the only tragic novel that i once read, quite decent, its about bullying

    Oh damn I forgot to put that one, I read them. It was truly depressing and really Heartbreaking. I was wrong to read them before sleeping, I woke up with my eyes swollen

    Whoa now I’m curious what’s the ref on that
