Why are people so obsessed with BL novels

 

It's mostly women with their Fujoshi tendencies.

 

What kind of observation did you have to arrive at this conclusion?

 

Tbh I don’t even know why I’m so obsessed with it, I just clicked on a novel that looked slightly interesting and just fell down the pit after reading it (it was better than I expected it to be cough i mean I’ve also reading some kinda trashy YA novels before starting to read any types of web novels)

 

All women on the net are in some way a fujoshi.

 

And what observation concludes to this one?

 

It lets women sexualize men without feeling guilty. Like for porn, most women don't like watching it because they either feel bad for the actress or some similar emotion. At least in a BL relationship, there's no excessive sympathy.
And men like yuri too, so think of it as vice versa

 

Because they like BL. What a silly question. What you really should be asking is why are they not obsessed with coffee?

Even I think the same.... My friends are so obsessed with it that it makes me difficult to catch up with them. Like it's not that I hate it but I think being moderate is good also I never knew boys liked Yuri!? I thought no one gave a shit about Yuri... I even have hard time in searching for Yuri manhwa.

in the 1st looking for page that looking for something specific, there's 4 looking for BL, 1 looking for modern day, 1 for reincarnation, 1 for fanfic, 1 for drama and 2 others are not specific. so I understand why you come to that conclusion. lol.

 

I don't have a particular lean towards reading only BL books. But for me, it is because most of the BL's address more mature themes and there is the excitement of forbidden love in most. Also, most generic novels portray a dreary, lifeless FL that is kinda dumb and is like a damsel in distress really. For female audience to be able to relate easily, she is not given much personality. BL's are generally more adventurous with it. The goal isn't to put yourself in FL's shoes but observe their journey from the sidelines. All of this being said, my preferance of novels change constantly. Sometimes I am in the mood for a more mature, heartbreaking and realistic approach; sometimes I want more fluff and slice of life type novel.

 

It’s like a fetish. Why do people like scat play. Why do people like BDSM. People like what they like. I’m a straight guy and wouldn’t want to experience Yuri in my RL, but to tell you the truth. I like certain soft light yuri manga, novels and anime. I find it hilarious to watch the surprise in some novels. When the girl they been chasing after was actually a dude.
Than again who here is normal.
Besides sometimes something forbidden can have its own allure.

Women like Bl for the same reason men like harem, it's something that is made for their fantasies.

I read both BG and BL...
From my perspective, BL is sort of a 'difficult taboo' in a conservative society. Imagine falling in love with the same sex despite being straight, it can only mean true love. I guess there's more feels reading it.

 

Personally, I read BL cause the relationship is more dynamic in BL, than in M/F. In regular stuff, originally, the female (lead or mc) can be strong, but gets overshadowed and turned into a damsel in distress that needs protection and to be saved by their lover and eventually cannot do anything without lover's assistance or pure support. In regards to BL, both of them are guys, and they don't (sometimes) suddenly become useless or worthless without the other character's help. They support each other and sometimes battle against or with each other as equals. I still read a lot of M/F, but when looking for a good relationship dynamic, I do M/M. F/F is usually nothing but sugar and fluff with no real angst or aggression or battles and the like. So M/M it is.

when asked they said that they just liked seeing to girls together .... and being hot and bothered ( it s more of a fantasm or something here i guess)

what i mean is girls being together don t bother men in the contrary
they fantasm on it
especially since they are not target of the interest of the homosexual person i think??? cause they mostly are scared of gay men being interested in them ( most homophobic men)
maybe girls are the same ??

for non homophobic people it s the same either it is BL GL or stallion

sorry for babbling what i mean is
1- women like BL because they like men( most of them but it s mostly hetero women who are obsessed while lesbians are just normally interested in it as far as i observed , it s not a general idea it s just my own observation of people around me )
2- the forbidden love is the most attracting fact like whatever the difficulties and whatnot they will still be themselves (aka not hiding or trying to change preferences because of society and other limitations) and still insist on loving their other half

3- there is the part that when you read too much stallion novel BL seems refreshing and the themes are slightly different
so yeah novelty is another reason
if we read BL all our life and discover the world of stallion it would have the same effect

4- there is also the fact that you have fun playing detective to know who s the top and things are not set in stone like with M/F
like the shou still has small hope for reversal and i find it funny
okay that part was just my perverted mind speaking but i like the idea of reverse couple and shou topping
