I've read cultivation novels with and without power hierarchy levels. Along the way I've dropped a lot of these novels because its A. Discontinued/Translation Stops or halts B. MC defeating everyone(max level characters) with his/her golden finger C. My 'brain' got fried by MC logic or character design D. Others I can't remember So here is what I'm trying to ask. I am kinda looking and rediscovering for cultivation novel with decent progression(plot and character and levels). With decent working antagonist brains, a little bit of cannon fodder is fine. MC doesn't go out of character, if it does, once is probably tolerable. Also currently being translated with update frequency or tolerable MTL is fine. Hit me up with suggestions, you can also include novels with game elements(level progression) or rpg/mmorpg elements.
Heart of Cultivation on royalroad. The pacing is a bit slow though (by cultivation novel standards). After the Mountains are Flattened on royalroad, maybe. Basically, the MC has already reached the apex of power and those around him mostly can't compete in any meaningful way on a 1v1 basis. Lots of people with multi-layered 4D chess style plots though, as well as much more normal people. Its mostly a comedy, but it has some decent action as well as moments of drama. Again, pacing may be an issue.
I am not sure of about what exactly happened, but Reverend Insanity is a dark themed story MC burn kids to create a artifact of sorts and just move on. And Chinese law did not really enjoyed that so author needed to stop writing it.
Haha so they are fine with guys raping every girl they see and killing basically an entire city of ppl (other Chinese novels) but burning kids is where they draw the line? Also not expecting you to know the answer just thought if that truly was the reason why then that kind of dumb
Did he start writing RI again? I can't find any new chapters, I'm pretty sure it's still banned. And the author is writing a new novel now, so it seems weird for him to come back to RI before he's done with that one.
the translation continues, I am not sure about the raws. I could be wrong too, I did not ask this info from the translators.
Translation never stopped, but the book is banned. More than a year ago it got banned, so the translation is going to be abruptly cut off at some point unfortunately.
It's going to resume once the author finishes his new novel. Which will be done in 2 years. It's on hiatus in the author's perspective. So don't worry about an unfinished story. After all, Reverend Insanity is his magnum opus. He said himself he'll never let it go unfinished. P.S: It was banned because it had concepts in the novel which are a big no no in the CCP.
Yeah I know he wants to finish it, I believe he even said that if the novel doesn't get unbanned then he will finish it via WeChat or something. I just hope he keeps his word. I caught up to the raws less then a week before the novel got banned so I felt like I got kicked in the ass by that and I guess it left me a bit sceptical about the future of the novel.
@10sWBlade , @bakato , @iBakax3 , @gokal14 @Noor @Lorus @skyfall3250 @mlongue @jacobpaige @SaltyBolty @Silerus @Exalted-on-High1 Thanks for all the suggestions, it was weird that I wasn't getting any notifications on the thread I created and I thought there was no reply or something. Yeah, Reverend Insanity lives up to its titular name, I did put it on hold because I was able to catch up to the latest translated chapters back then and got the news of it being on-hold(banned).
