Discussion Did you guys actually use Novelupdates?

You guys know that this is a Web Novel forum right? But you guys... Do you guys actually use Novelupdates at all?
You know... like... When was the last time you use Novelupdates to check well... Novel updates?

For me, I stopped regularly checking Novelupdates after Death March ended. Now, I just check once in a while for maybe a chance once in a blue moon a novel that I have in my reading list is updated... Honestly, I kinda half give up. I now mostly stuck to mangas.
Nowadays I only here to lurk at the forum and do occasional shitposting here and there.

So, what about you guys?

 

the last time i piked a novel from Novelupdates it's at least 6 month ago....
chinese novels are too long so waiting for translation is a pain in the ass, and it's faster going mtl the raw....
on the other hand JP, are either dropped or the same genre....so you get tired fast of them....

i pass most of my time searching for novels that aren't on NU....i come here when i'm bored to check if there is something new....

 

Stopped around two years ago. Became busy and almost dropped reading webnovels back then. And whatever I did read after that was all on WW, so didn't really feel the need to.

 

BL is eternal, hence I check daily
unless I'm binging on another novel, then I'll have a backlog of a few days of novels to find

I open the main site at least 5 times a day, and I set it as the home page of my phone browser

 

Checking NU is a daily ritual. And I'm sometimes rewarded with promising new novels.

 

Everyday since i've joined

 

I come here everyday to check new updates. But its been so long since I picked up a new novel that I forgot.

Wait, no, that's a lie. I picked up a new novel just last month, but it was a licensed novel so I never ended up using novelupdates for it.

Well, like maybe once in a week a novel I read gets an update and I read it. I mean, off the top of my head I can only name 2 that I still read from here. There may be others but I don't know how long it has been since they last updated so I might as well have forgotten.

I don't know, maybe if Novelupdates showed the covers of the novels too instead of just the names on the front page I'd be more inclined to click on them.

But I have a reason I'm checking updates so less now. Its the quarantine. I used to only read novels in my free time while I was outside on my phone. But as I'm staying at home more I'm spending my time on other stuff. The percentage of my computer time I used to allocate to reading novels has remained the same really. Just the medium I used to use for reading novels most has become insignificant.

 

Mostly everyday, unless it is inaccessible or I can't for some reason

 

My reading list is bookmarked...

It's a novel aggregator so it's my goto for checking release

 

I still checking NU even when I don't want to read anything.

 

Every single hour if I could do it, even after waking up I'd check which of the books I've bookmarked get an update or two. Well, not that I'd immediately read them unless they are from my top to-be-read list

 

Well, i just came back after a long time of being in MIA . I was gone for ahm.. i don't know, i forgot. I just came to check if the novels in my RL updated. Once in a blue moon ... I'm not as active since the first time i got here. Kind of busy with my life too.

 

I check NU when I'm bored or already finish reading on MTL.

Basically, I only use NU to sort my reading list in 2 sections Unfinished and Finished Reading.

i dont check the forums like ever anymore but i still check nu every so often for the two or three novels i still keep up with

 

I never checked nu's main page, but I do wade through the novel list every once in a while.

Nuf on the other hand is something I am checking throughout the day.

 

Daily, for the Novels that I am already reading, rarely do I pick up something new, but last week I did and I catched up to the translation in 2 days, fortunately the translator does 2 to 3 chapters a day (and they're not so short) kudos to that man.

And a couple more that I don't remember well their names, while also waiting for others to be picked up

 

I use it to find new novels, but I've never really used any of the other features. I never read more than a few novels at once, so I just keep them open in tabs and refresh every day to check for updates. I probably should create a reading list of novels I want to read, though, since right now I just have a lot of bookmarks and tabs open with novels I might read in the future.

Every now and then I check my reading list to see if anything that was dropped got updated though~
