Part 2 Maxi is very different from Part 1 Maxi lol she fights with Riftan quite often in Part 2. She can also be very stubborn. I'm surprised that she's kinda violent lol. She even threw a book at Riftan's face when Riftan won't let her join the war.

They fight but they still care very much for each other.

so they have to survey an underground city of monsters (not 100%sure as it is MTL) Riftan's group will infiltrate the city while Maxi together with Elliot, Ruth, and Leon will survey it outside. Riftan was leaving without talking to her so Maxi thought that they could not separate like this. She ran towards Riftan and hugged him. He also hugged Maxi. She told Riftan not to be reckless and get hurt so he also made her promise that she won't be reckless and he'll do the same. Another fluff is Maxi burned her bread because she was looking at Riftan eating bread and feeding Talon afterwards. She was jealous of Talon lol. Riftan saw her burnt bread and gave her his.

That spoiler happened in part 1 when Maxi snucked in the war to check on Riftan. Maxi was left under the care of the monastery and Grand Duke but she snucked out so no one knows that she's not there anymore. Safety of the priestesses are not guaranteed since no knight would risk their life for a priestess. So what Maxi did was very dangerous.

Little spoilers for their interactions in part 2 (not in order) these are just mtl so may not be 100% correct

When they met again in part 2, Riftan was cold to Maxi (partly due to his sexual frustrations). He knows that it is not the time to relieve them (lol) because they are mainly sleeping outside. Hebaron found the whole situation funny haha. Maxi, however, thought that Riftan was still mad at her to the point that he does not want to stay next to her. (chapter 36) At one point of their trip, monsters attacked them and the horses for their supplies was taken away so some need to share horses. Maxi thought that it would be natural for her to share with Riftan but Riftan called Ruth instead and explained that Maxi's horse is small and not fit for the carriage. Ruth tried to give a solution that Maxi and Riftan should share a horse while he will use Maxi's horse. Riftan glared at him so he has no choice but to comply lol.

Their first kiss happened when Maxi saw Riftan sleeping in the stables. She kissed him and the kiss turned passionate but Ruth unintentionally interrupted hahahaha. Riftan wanted to continue but Maxi was so embarassed. (Happened earlier than spoilers above) He was still cold to her after this though.

Maxi got fed up with Riftan's cold treatment in chapter 34 of part 2. Maxi and the other wizards put up a barrier because they were being attacked by a serpent(mtl). Riftan stepped in infront of her and rushed towards the serpent. His sword absorbed the serpent's breath and he quickly decapitated it. Maxi wanted to look if he has any injuries but he kept on declining so Maxi blew up . She threw pine cones at Riftan and when there are no more pine cones she threw snow. She managed to land a snowball at Riftan's face. (Note that they were in front of 200 Holy Knights, Remdragon Knights, and wizards hahhaha)

Their conversation after this is as follows:

He scratched his head, brushed his eyes, and stepped forward in a couple of steps. Then she snatched her arm quickly and roared violently with teeth.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Wow, who's talking. What the hell, do you intend to ignore people forever! if you have any complaints... You can tell! This, this yellow! Stupid idiot!"

As she twisted her arms and kicked, Riftan clenched his teeth. Then turned his head and threw a sharp gaze at the people looking at them with exciting gazes.blobjoy:) Then he lifted her up with one arm and strided toward the forest.

Max lifted up like a pack on his side, writhing like an angry foal, and poured out all the rants she knew.

"this An arrogant jerk! A narrow fool inside! in the meantime... How did I study... ! Do you know how desperately I've been trying so hard to come back as soon as possible? if you ignore this, this, like this... Why did you follow me?!"

"What do you want me to do?"

Max could clearly feel the faint cramping
of his arm on the side of his head. Riftan has tilted his head so close that their nose almost touch.

"As if you had never left me, as if I had
never been left behind, as if I had never spent each day in despair in the past three years. Do you want to behave like that? Do you really think I can?"

He shook his shoulders as if suppressing the passion, but eventually lost control and shouted wildly.

"How can you be so calm? Why is it so okay? You really don't know I'm barely going through this ridiculous situation? Damn it! I really don't know how desperately I'm holding on so I'm scratching like that!"

A bang, and a fist wrapped in a gauntlet broke into the tree trunk.

"How do I feel right now - !"

Max squeezed hi neck as one hand of Riftan tightened and hurt her forearm. Riftan hastily released his hand. There was a deep sense of self-destruction on his face. Riftan, who had rubbed his face roughly as if to attract patience, hurried back from her. Mac noticed that he was about to kill his feelings again, and hastily pulled
his hem.

"Well, don't hide it that way! I hate what
you do!"

His eyes, looking down at her, trembled
helplessly. Mac screamed earnestly, grasping his cloak so he couldn't escape.

"You just have to talk! How do you feel, you can tell me directly! It's okay to resent. I want you to be honest. Being ignored in this way... I hate it."

Riftan told her afterwards that he missed her terribly and they kissed very passionately after lol but they were interrupted when Remdragon knights signalled that there are monsters approaching (the ones who attacked their supplies carriage as mentioned earlier).

Maxi have come so far from the trembling girl when she saw first saw Riftan. She can now shout at Riftan, kick him, and throw pinecones lol.

So here now the next part of Riftans POV. Enjoy reading.

Did he think that everything would stop in place and wait for him? If he had such expectations at all, he would have been an arrogant moron.

He walked a little faster, rubbing his throbbing head. He just wanted to go back to his room and sleep. He didn't want to open his eyes for at least two days.

But when he arrived at Croix castle, his desire to take a rest disappeared. It was annoying to come to his room and deal with the leader and other members. He trusts them, but he didn’t want to show weakness.

Riftan circled the garden and began walking along a deserted forest path. The sharp headache gradually subsided while walking along a shortcut that he used to pass with charcoal or firewood on his back as a child.

He leaned his back at the bark under the beautiful tree and took a breather for a while. Then suddenly, he realized where he was and hardened his face. Riftan breathed a dejected sigh as he looked at the grayish-white structure seen through the dense trees. He couldn't believe that he had been loitering all the way to this place.

He dropped his shoulders and trudged out of the forest like a man tired of his long journey. The garden that he had seen countless times in his dream was getting closer to his eyes.

But it was completely different from what he remembered. Riftan frowned in the sight of a lonely landscape. The flower bed was full of dry weeds and strangely quiet everywhere.

'...You're not staying here anymore?’

He picked a flower that had dried up in a rough way and crumbled it with his fingertips. Perhaps she had neglected the care since she began to live in her palace. Riftan was laughing at the fact that even the place in his memory had turned into a shabby one. He was helplessly drained of energy himself. Standing absent-mindedly, rubbing the back of his head, he turned slowly.

But at that moment, he heard a breathless laugh from somewhere. He turned his head again. But there was no other person anywhere in the garden. Riftan, who stood there blankly and faced the chilly wind, felt a sign of popularity not far away and quickly moved his steps there.

As he circled around the annex, he saw Maximilian Croix crouching on the floor and playing with a big cat. He stopped on the spot and glanced down at her figure.

She was wearing a modest reddish-brown dress that was quite different from what he had seen at the banquet hall. Her hair, which had been braided tightly to prevent a single strand from sticking out, was naturally tangled open and flowed gently over her shoulders, and a flushed blush was young on her pale face.

A sharp pain came through his chest. It was just the way he remembered the fantasy. But he didn't want to fall for her again like a dork.

Riftan quickly turned around before she found him. At that moment, an indisputably vague voice caught him.

"Y, you... do you like me...?”

Riftan looked back, as if under a powerful force. She was talking with a serious face to the cat, who was lying at her feet and acting cute. Even though it was a scene that should make him laugh, he strangely didn't feel happy.

A smile caught her mouth when the cat stretched out its flexible neck and rubbed its head on the hem of her skirt, as if it had understood her. She held the cat carefully in her hands and whispered like a child playing with her doll.

"T, then... a, always... will you stay with me?”

It was a surprisingly unstable, pathetic voice. Feeling one side of the chest becoming numb, Riftan rubbed his rib. The loneliness surrounding her was so clear that he could touch it with his hands. At that moment, she felt closer than anyone else.

He looked at her vulnerable face with lethargic eyes, and soon escaped as if he were running away.

Looking up makes you miserable. The voice of his stepfather was ringing in his ear like a deafening sound. Why did he forget? He shouldn't have come here. He shouldn't have seen her. Nor should he have noticed that she was still lonely.

Riftan wiped down his mouth with a trembling hand. She was in the softest part of his heart. How easily she could capture him, he shouldn't have noticed it and looked at her.

She was a deeply rooted being in him before he could love anyone, before he had a hard shell. Nevertheless, he was only worried that his paradise would be shattered.

Suddenly, Riftan was sweept over by an unknown anger and kicked the floor roughly. What does it matter if she's lonely or not? There is no way he can understand a woman who has lived under the protection of her rich father in a huge castle. Has he forgotten how she looked at him? Stop it now. How long will you live with the memory of your childhood days?

He left the post as if to shake off the confusion in his heart.

Since then he hasn't stepped back to the castle. He did not attend the banquet if possible. But her presence continued to irritate his nerves like a thorn stuck under his fingernails.

He couldn't believe for himself how so easily he could find her in such a wide castle.

He could easily distinguish the sound of her footsteps, no matter how far away she was, and could hear everything without missing her little whispering. All his senses seemed to fit her. The sight of her from afar made his whole body nervous. (side note: maybe he has an in built maxi radar )

He was aware that he was overly conscious of her, but he couldn't control his own reaction. A strange feeling made him at his wits.

When he was a child, he wasn't so obsessed with her as if he was this possessed. When he thought of her, a soft, affectionate feeling rushed in, and when he saw her smile, his heart warmed. But what he felt now was an unparalleled intensity and, on the one hand, an unpleasant feeling.

When he thought of her, he felt like one side of his mind was drying up, let alone satisfied, and he felt a strange thirst. Once, he dressed up as hard as he could to talk to her and went to the banquet hall. But as usual, she just showed her face and ran out. (side note: remember when I once said, that you would find the answer to Riftans mood in the side stories? That’s the reason why he seemed grumpy )

When he saw it, he felt like a fool after hanging around in front of the mirror for about an hour. Riftan asked in an indifferent tone towards Hebaron, hiding his signs of dismay.

"Hey, do I look that scary?"

Hebaron, who was drinking the finest wine like water, opened his eyes wide and looked at him. The next moment, an amused sign appeared on his face.

"Which wimpy lady fell asleep at the sight of the vice-captain?”

Riftan managed to keep an expressionless face. Even if he died, he didn't want to admit the fact that it's almost like that. As he approached him, he tried hard to erase her face which had turned pale, from his head, and spoke in a reluctant manner.

„The leader is bothering me with the idea of growing sociability.“

"That's why the vice-captain wears such pretty clothes these days, isn't it?”

Hebaron grinned as he swept him from head to toe. Riftan clasped tightly the sword handle on the waist.

"Do you want to die?"

Hebaron curled his shoulders hysterically with an exaggerated frightened look.

"It's not a problem the lieutenant has. The pressure is the problem! If you can't make jokes, then just smile, be eloquent. People won't be afraid of giant like us, if we are as happy as possible. Do you think with a frowning face, people will not avoid you, but will stick to you?"

Riftan closed his mouth when he had a point. Perhaps this was the only opportunity, but Hebaron continued to criticize him.

"And the vice-captain has a dreary atmosphere. When you stare at me without saying anything, my heart cools. Who has the guts to talk to a man who stands in the middle of a ballroom like he is on a battlefield? Even well trained knights are scared, and it's no wonder the ladies shrink."

That meant it would be hard to avoid her frightened gaze unless someone else's soul was in his body. (side note: Not only did the duke fool everyone with the reason why maxi is so timid, but with Hebarons explanation, it’s even harder for Riftan to understand, that she is so afraid, because she is traumatized from years of abuse. Also, given the time this takes place, it’s even more understandable, that he doesn’t realize that she is traumatized, because at that time, they didn’t even believe or understand psychologic problems)

For the first time, Riftan envied his bear like face. He was half a head taller than he was, and he weighed more, but he could naturally mingle with anyone if he wanted to. He tried hard to hide his bitter feelings and took a sip of wine.

"By the way, I can't believe the vice-captain is thinking so seriously about it.” said Hebaron with a sudden look of satisfaction.

"Are you finally determined to take over the position of general manager?”

"...don't jump.“

Riftan spat out bluntly and stood up from his seat. Hebaron frowned at the blatant attempt to avoid the seat.

"Most of the guys in the knighthood joined the Remdragon knights in admiration of the vice-captain. There's a guy like Uslin Rykaido who turned down the offer to join the Royal Knights. Everybody thinks Riftan Calypse is the boss! How long are you going to stick to your origins?”

"Don't say it so easily."

Riftan gave him a fierce look. Hebaron Nirta was born from a fallen aristocrat and has distinct characteristic of the Western people. Even if he was from the same mercenary, he was much better off than he was, who is at the bottom of the pack. He was angry that such a guy could easily identify himself.

"There are many conservative aristocrats in Whedon. Why do you have to deliberately put yourself at a disadvantage.“

Hebaron snorted.

"We're heretics anyway. No matter what the nobles say, we just have to put our rules first.”

With the simple logic of ignorance, Riftan angrily left the bustling banquet hall. It wasn't the time to look at a woman, who wasn't even half his size. There are a lot of things to think about, so what a ridiculous thing to do. He untied the ornament from his neck and ruffled his neat hair roughly.

This boring victory banquet was also over in the next week. When he leaves Croix castle he will also say forever goodbye to the fool who dressed up like a clown saying he'll grab a girl's attention. Riftan looked up at the dark sky and then turned to his room.

And from the next day on, he didn't even come close to the banquet hall. Seeing him wielding a sword in the training ground from morning till night, the leader breathed a sigh of resignation.

"Yes, I thought you were strangely demure in the last few weeks. Are you already a little sore?"

„We're about to leave for Drachium. You have to oil your rusty arms."

Riftan spat out bluntly and then struck a sword into the air. Triden, who looked at it with his arms folded around his chest, came down the stairs and pulled out the sword from his waist.

"Okay. I was itching, too. Shall we have a fight after a long time?"

Riftan let down the sword with a deep sigh. His whole body was covered with sweat after five hours of nonstop swinging the sword. He wiped his damp forehead and picked up the coat he had taken off.

"Don't bother. I don't want to ruin your arm at all."

"Oh, you must be afraid that my lieutenant will be disgraced."

The general manager looked up at the top of the training ground and trembled. Riftan, who followed his gaze and raised his head, frowned at the sight of the noble women sitting by the window.

During the day when there was no banquet, it seemed to be their daily routine to watch the knights' sparring like that, or to take a leisurely stroll or enjoy tea time. It was a mysterious sight for Riftan, who had never enjoyed laziness in his life.

"It is the true duty of knights to serve the lady. I'll give the beautiful ladies an interesting spectacle.”

"You're saying that again....”

Riftan, who shook his head because he was dumbfounded, suddenly hardened his body. The image of Maximilian Croix sitting by the window on the fifth floor caught his eyes. Even though it was a long distance away, he could clearly feel her curious gaze. His mouth suddenly dried up.

"...Okay, I'll hang out with you for a while."

"I love your arrogance.”

Triden, who took off his overcoat and wore light armor, smiled relaxedly as he looked straight ahead.

"It's worth a blow."

Riftan snorted and raised the sword again. Triden twirled the sword with one hand and rushed toward him at lightning speed. Soon after, the sound of the blade clashing against, chang, chang, began to reverberate.

Riftan, while bouncing off a fierce flying attack, suppressed the urge to make sure she was still watching him. If he could make a little strong impression in that little head, he could do so even if he had asked him to fight all day. It was becoming increasingly annoying that he was the only one fretting when the opponent didn't care about him.

"Where are you losing your mind?”

Feeling that his attention had left him, Triden delivered a heavy blow. The whole body trembled with the fairly threatening attack. Riftan, who narrowly blocked his attack, swung the sword rather violently and launched a counterattack. Then Triden's mouth stiffened and the movement of his arms became noticeably dull. Riftan became alert and quickly backed away.

“Damn, I didn't mean to put a strain on your arm."

As he hurriedly laid down the sword and looked at his forearm with a worried look, Triden looked dissatisfied.

"Who's at liberty to finish it? I can still go on.”

"Are you going to make this idiot let you use your barely recovered hands?"

Riftan was angry at himself and shouted violently. If he injured his superior while trying to show off his strength in front of a woman, he would not be able to forgive himself. Due to the strain during the long-running expedition, the leader's arm was much weaker than before. Riftan looked at his wrist with a serious look and raised himself up.

"You'd better ask a magician to cast a recovery spell.”

"Your old woman’s heart is getting stronger and stronger.”

Triden grumbled and put the sword back at his waist.

"I'm a knight. Stop treating me like a powerless old man."

"It is the lieutenant’s duty to check the condition of his supervisor. If you're dissatisfied with my attitude, then you need to get well soon."

Riftan forced the stubborn Triden to be brought to the wizard to get healing magic. But even after seeing his swollen wrists fully recovered, he didn't feel any better. He was disgusted with himself for doing wrong things, by repeatedly losing his self-restrain and control.

"Don't frown like that.”

Triden tapped his shoulder and sighed.

“Wasn't it me who asked you to do it? I would have been offended, if you did it in moderation.”

"...Sparring is supposed to be light and relaxed."

Riftan refuted and pushed his hand away. Triden shrugged once and picked up the cape.

"You've never been away from the battlefield this long since you became a knight. I’m afraid you are getting nervous."

Riftan felt his cheeks turn red. The general manager seemed to have noticed that he was restless. Triden looked sharply at him and said,

"But at least tonight, show your face at the banquet hall. This is the last feast. Since you've been indebted to me, shouldn't you say thank you to the leader?"

"...are the damage compensation negotiations over?”

Trident nodded.

“Now, if we go back to the palace and report the situation to his Majesty, it will be over. You'll be free for the time being.”

It was right to feel relieved at the words. But only emptiness and loss flooded in. Riftan said numbly, as if to shake off this feelings.

"Good to hear that."

The leader repeatedly urged him to attend the banquet and left the infirmary.

That evening, Riftan stepped into the banquet hall with a lethargic face. Even if it wasn't for the leader's request, it would have been hard to resist the temptation to see her today.

This was the last time. Tonight will be the last day that will put an end to this chaos. He looked around the grand banquet hall with such a pledge on his mind. As it was the last day, the hall was more lavish and splendid than ever.

There was a lute melody flowing through the spacious hall surrounded by golden lights, and opposite him was a long line of tables full of fragrant wine, greasy food and fresh fruits, and the nobles seated in front of it were all in luxurious attire.

Riftan sat down in a seat where the knights gathered, ignoring the glancing eyes that seemed to say that a crow had intervened in the group of peacocks. At the top of the long table sat the Duke of Croix, who was all dressed up in silk and fur, and Maximilian Croix, dressed in a stylish velvet dress.

Riftan struggled not to look at her for too long and asked the servant to give him a glass of wine. The leader in the opposite seat smiled gladly at him.

"You grumble, but you're a good listener."

"Don't like it too much. Didn't I crush the leader’s face during the day? I just decided to build up your prestige for the time being."

"...I'll have to do something about this goddamn arm as soon as possible.”

Triden frowned and growled.

"Wait for it, I'll fix your habit in the near future."

Riftan hid his smile with a glass of wine. Triden's easygoing attitude seemed to make him feel a little better. Riftan relaxed, ate food and drank, and occasionally talked with the knights. However, after half an hour, his attention flew again toward the girl sitting by the duke’s side.

She stayed at the banquet longer than ever before, but she didn't talk to anyone. She looked so cold sitting with an expressionless face that it was doubtful whether she was the same person as the delicate girl who was playing with the cat.

Riftan sipped the wine and looked carefully at her. Where does it hurt? The white face was already as pale as a sheet and the eyes were dark as if they had hidden all their emotions.

This may be the last time he sees her. Riftan, who once wanted to see a big smile on her face, was both disappointed and worried and sat there restlessly.

"You must be bored at the party. Lord Calypse."

Riftan turned his head to the sudden voice. A seductive beauty in a rosy dress was smiling at him. Riftan frowned. The woman, however, flickered with no sign of fear, and had the audacity to hold out one hand toward him.

"I was also getting bored with the conversation. I'd like to change my mood, but I don't have a suitable partner. Won't you be my dancing partner?”

It was unusual for a woman to ask a man to dance first. As he only looked surprise at her boldness, the leader kicking his shin under the table. With the look of warning that he was going to embarrassed the lady, Riftan reluctantly stood up. A satisfying smile was young at the corners of her mouth.

"I heard that you were a big part in this conflict. Your Majesty will be very proud."

As he was holding her hand and walking awkwardly into the middle of the hall, the woman whispered softly. Riftan frowned and tried to recall her name. Although he was introduced to her the other day, he couldn't remember anything, but her being the sister of an knight. Riftan answered bluntly.

"I'm glad if he doesn’t criticize me for taking longer than expected."

"Is your Majesty a strict man?"

"He has high expectations of his subjects."

"I've heard the rumor that your Majesty has a special fond of you.”

He gave a cynical smile. That man was only attached to a useful tool. However, since there was no reason to say that, he remained silent.

Despite his poor manners, she continued to chatter and enjoy dancing to the fullest. Riftan twirled the woman and glanced at Maximilian Croix.

He caught her turning her head in surprise. Maybe she was looking at him? He was fed up with himself having such expectations.

As soon as the music changed, he got away from the woman like a beast out of the trap. But the woman was faster. The nameless aristocratic woman leaned over his arm, while staggering.

"I'm a little dizzy. I think I drank too much. I want to go back to my room and rest. Could you help me?”

A sigh flowed over the blatant invitation. The reactions of aristocratic women to him were divided into exactly two classes. They wanted to avoid him like a plague, or have him as a pet dog to play with in bed. That woman seemed to be on the latter side.

"Today's our last feast. I want to have a special time."

She gave him a seductive look, clinging her soft body close to him. Riftan tried hard to shake her off, but didn't want to cause any trouble, so he helped her out of the banquet hall.

The woman rushed at him as soon as they entered the deserted dark corridor. Riftan felt like a corpse of a monster being bitten by a harpy. The woman wrapped her slender arms around his neck like vines and pushed her wet lips greedily on him. Riftan frowned and pushed her off him.

"You seem to be full of energy. You can go back to the room alone.”

"What's wrong with you?"

She pouted her lips and gave him a provocative look. It seemed to say how he dared to refuse her offer. The woman spoke admonishingly.

"Don't be so strict. I'm just playing a little joke with you."

"I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in this kind of prank. Find someone else."

"I'm not interested in anyone else."

The woman smiled languidly, then pushed her body provocatively at him and put her hand to his cheek.

"I've never seen anyone as beautiful as you. It's like a god worshipped by evil pagans. Is it true that you guys know 180 different ways to get pleasure?"

He got goosebumps at the sight of something intoxicated. He shuddered at the woman's preposterous expectations and violently pulled her hand off.

“You guys? Are you making me out to be a apostate now?“

"I just..."

"I was ordained in front of the church. Did you know that for saying that, could make me let you pay for insulting me?"

The woman's face was horribly distorted by the cold blame.

"So you are a person who only talks boring things."

She stared at him with a haughty look and turned around.

"Good, I'll find someone else."

Then she walked away with a haughty gait. Riftan wiped his wet mouth and pulled the ragged hem of his clothes that the woman's reckless pulled. He was in a mess.

He didn't intend to go back to the banquet hall like this, but if he didn't, those who saw him leave would think he was enjoying a secret meeting with her. Maybe she thinks so, too.

'What does it matter?’

She wouldn't care if he disappeared or whenever he hang out with any woman or not. It's all just self-consciousness. But even as he muttered like that, he strode toward the banquet hall. Riftan swept his hair nervously. He didn't like how restless he was, like a stallion in the henhouse.

"Do you think it's true that the Duke’s daughter is thinking of finding a husband among the knights?”

As soon as he was about to step out of the dark hallway and step into the banquet hall, the voices of some men's were heard. Riftan cast a keen glance at the noble men who were chatting.

Inside the banquet hall, a minstrel was reciting a heroic epic in a mournful voice to the tune of a rut, and people were dancing in full swing under the sparkling candle. It seems that the men were enjoying a secret talk through this tumult. A slow, drunken voice flowed into his ear.

"Isn't she still a little young?"

But with him building a chapel and putting her in a palace with high-ranking knights, let’s everyone around her think, that her father is being overprotective and no one would get the idea, that she is being abused there. )

"I think she has been sick a lot since she was young. That's why they overprotect."

said the man, who looked relatively old, with pity. Riftan stiffened and took a close look at Maximilian Croix. She sat by her father's side and looked at the ballroom with a tired and tense face.

Once rumors have spread that the Duke of Croix plans to choose his son-in-law from among the knights, then all men with the title the Knight of Whedon will all loiter beside her with vain expectations. The most disgusting thing was the fact that even he himself felt such temptation.

Riftan stood on the stairs leading to the garden and wrapped his face in shame. What the hell happened to him? This confusion and longing was really unpleasant. But the idea that the banquet might be a place to find her suitor lets him lose his control.

'Just because I'm in this position, there's still no chance I'll be on the list.’

It was an obvious result, considering the fearful gaze as she looked at him, or the contemptuous attitude of the Duke of Croix. But he turned back toward the banquet hall. Riftan swept up his bangs with one hand, wondering if his hair was messed up. Hebaron, looking up at the figure, whistled a little.

She told Riftan not to be reckless and get hurt so he also made her promise that she won't be reckless and he'll do the same. Another fluff is Maxi burned her bread because she was looking at Riftan eating bread and feeding Talon afterwards. She was jealous of Talon lol. Riftan saw her burnt bread and gave her his.

When he was still a mercenary, they believed that this coin would give them luck. Maxi tried to give it back because if it is lucky then Ruftan should have it so he would not be hurt. Riftan refused and said that he will feel more at ease if Maxi have it.

So the days where Maxi stayed at the monastery started. She is staying there together with other noble ladies(who are very nice). These noble ladies would donate their stuff so that they can give food and other necessities to the wounded and the evacuees. For them, it is the least they can do since their husbands are out there risiking their lives. Maxi was not able to give anything except a mirror because she was not able to pack some money. The noble ladies assured her that her presence is enough as people looked up to Riftan.

Since there were waves of evacuees fron the war, it is inevitable for sickness to spread. They were now worrying about the spread of the sickness since there was only one clinic left in the place because many priests have joined the subjugation. Maxi commented that she noticed that a certain type of herb (i forgot the name) grows at the back of the clinic which cures stomachache. The noble ladies and the priests were surprised that she knows this. Maxi told them that she is a healer. It was fortunate that Ruth taught her about herbs. Books are also a luxury so it is understandable that few knows about this. Maxi started to work in the clinic after this. Instead of decreasing the number of the sick people, it actually doubled. Rumors of a skilled healer spread.

However, after a few days they were being asked to go back to their families as they could not be supported in the monastery. The war with the monsters (trolls) have been drawn out.

Idsilah( one of the noble ladies) told Maxi that she would be sneaking in to the rear. The rear would only provide support so it would not be that dangerous. This noble lady comes from a family of knights. Maxi went with her (even though she knew that Riftan's anger will peak). She just want to see Riftan even from afar. Just to make sure that he is okay.

(They were actually attacked by trolls en route to Servin Castle but were saved by the Osiria Knights, the paladins. One troll was still alive but Maxi was saved by Leon, their leader. This has been spoiled already afaik)

They arrived at the Servin Castle and Maxi worked there as a healer. She does not use magic as she heals many people. One day, Ruth ans Elliot finally arrived at that place. He was rescued by Riftan and the Remdragon knights.

(Their meeting is actually funny and what made me write this long spoiler. Haha. Ruth is my favorite character from Under the Oak Tree aside from Maxi and Riftan. He is a great friend and mentor of Maxi. )

Maxi approached Ruth to give him water. Ruth did not bother looking at her and just took the water mistaking her as just another one of the priestess so Maxi touched his arm. The moment Ruth saw her, he stood up as if he was struck by lightning and was about to scream but Maxi told him to be quiet. Ruth asked Maxi if she is now a priestess and what about Sir Calypse lol. Maxi told him not to say any nonsense. She asked him barrage of questions like is Riftan okay, is he okay, she heard that there were injured knights from Remdragon but Ruth told her to give him some time to clear his head because Maxi just popped out of nowhere.

Ruth asked if the Grand Duke knows that she's here. She told him that no one knows that she's there and that she's hiding her identity. Ruth told her that Riftan would be upset. Maxi told him to be quiet.

Ruth's reply is as follows:

"Why are you doing this to me? Please hide it so desperately from me too! You don't have to get me involved."

Max's eyes narrowed at the harsh words. Her heart that was so glad that tears were coming quickly disappeared.

"Oh, it's been a long time since... Is that all you have to say? Well, how worried I have been... !"

"Then, did you think that I would be happy to meet you and dance?"

Maxi was kinda sad by Ruth's reaction to being there. Ruth was the one who taught her the use of herbs and magic but he was not happy that she was a healer there. She thought to herself if Ruth's reaction was like that, what more would Riftan's reaction be. Ruth was proud of her progress though and helped her hide from Riftan. He told her that if her intention is to just see if Riftan is safe the she must observe him 1km away. Maxi was surprised (lol) but Ruth told her that Riftan's has excellent senses moreso if she's around.

They arrived at the last place they will move to before the final battle. Maxi accidentally saw Riftan when she was about to take a bath in a lake. She immediately pulled her hood and was about to turn away when Riftan stopped her and asked her to look up. Idsilah(the noble lady with her) jumped in between them and explained that priestess are forbidden to look at men and they should go now. Riftan allowed them to pass but the moment that they turned their backs he pulled Maxi's hood.

Riftan was so angry. They were having a shouting match at the barracks but was stopped by Uslin (this is also the time Maxi told Riftan that she is not a duke's daughter but a knight's wife from previous spoilers). He told them that they have gathered spectators outside and if they do not plan on sharing their story then they should stop. Riftan left because he might say words he would regret and would cool his head first. Maxi cried after this and Uslin felt awkward so he called Ruth and Elliot. Yurizion also came with them. Everyone is scolding Ruth because he hid Maxi. Even Uslin scolded Ruth and told him that he should have prioritized Maxi's safety above all. Maxi defended Ruth as best as she could.

She hugged herself, soothing gently, and wished he would apologize for not being sincere or sorry for saying harsh words. I felt betrayed by his cold attitude.

The Cold War continued until the next day. Max hid herself in the blanket until Riftan went out, and only after he reluctantly left did she get up and lock herself in Ruth's tower. "Sir Nirta." She turned her head to Hebaron, who stood leaning against the wall. The knight, whose name was suddenly called, looked puzzled. She spoke to Hebaron, ignoring Riftan, who glared persistently beside her.

"To the person standing next to me, I don't have much to say, can you tell him?" There was a cold silence. Hebaron glanced blankly at Riftan, and echoed her words.

"Leader, your wife has nothing to say."

"I've heard." Riftan grated its teeth and put one hand on the desk so fiercely that it sounded like a bang.

"I have something to say."

"Sir Nirta." Hebaron gave me a puzzled look, as if he were asking why he was pulled in. Max pretended not to know and continued to talk sulky.

"To the person next to me, would you please tell him that I don't want to hear anything?"

"Leader, you're wife said nothing..."

"I've got a hole in my ear too!" cried Riftan, and lowered his head to her face. Max stubbornly turned her head away from him. Riftan was so exhausted and impatient that he didn't know what to do.

"Don't pretend I'm not here, look me in the face and talk!"

"No."

Riftan breathed deeply into her gushing reply. His tone was broken.

"Maxi, last time I made a mistake. I never meant to ignore you or demean you." But when she didn't raise her head, he began to appeal desperately.

"I was just worried about you. I didn't want to burden you! Once you start playing the role of a healer, people will find you whenever they have trouble. Someday you might have to overdo it like last time. Sh*t, I don't want you to suffer from that!"

"Do you think I can't handle it?" she spat out in a pent-up voice, holding her eyes fixed on the desk.

"I'm thinking, oh, I can't be like Princess Agnes. So..you're so worried."

"Truly, I didn't mean to offend you." He clasped her face in embarrassment.

"I just wanted to make you comfortable."

"I.. Even if I don't want it?" she murmured in a tight voice. Riftan lost his words as if he had been caught off guard. Max looked up at him and continued in a trembling voice.

"Riftan, ··· I don't want to be comfortable. I want to do what I can. It's amazing and fun to learn new things and to do magic. It breaks my heart that Riftan keeps telling me not to do anything." Riftan was like a man who was hit on the head. He darted his lips, and his head dropped weakly. His face was clouded with dismay.

"I see what you mean." Riftan muttered helplessly.

"If you really want to be a healer, do it. So please don't look like that. Don't avoid me." That sullen look made Max feel like a child in a trance. She is the one who has been hurt by the harsh words, but why does he look like a person who struggled for many days? Max, who had been glaring at him, slowly nodded, realizing that he was waiting for her answer. Then, Riftan's stiff shoulders were relieved of tension. He pulled her head to his chest and hugged her tightly. At that moment, knights who silently watched their quarrel applauded in unison. It was only belatedly that Max was embarrassed to have a childish verbal fight in front of people, and her face turned red. Riftan grumbled fiercely at the knights sending an exciting glance. "Hey, I think it's time for a good spectacle." As Hebaron slackened, the knight standing right next to him stabbed him in the ribs with his elbow. Riftan's eyes were so cold that the expressions quickly disappeared from the faces of the knights who were laughing.

"So, it's time to replace the members who went to the construction site."

"Haha, is it time already? Let's get out of here, Lord Nirta," the knights went out of the Urr, holding out and pushing forward Hebaron. Max secretly looked into his eyes to see if she had offended his husband in front of his subordinates. Riftan looked at the back of the knights, who were moving away with expressionless faces, and held his hands around her face and lowered his head. The warm lips touched gently and then fell off. With a fluffy kiss, Max was red to the nose.

"Ki, don't kiss me. I, ··I haven't resolved my anger yet."

"You know how to make a man impatient." He smiled bitterly and wrapped her hair in one hand. A low sigh fell over her hair.

"But really stop now. You've bothered me enough for three days," she looked up at him with a hazy look. It was funny to act as if he had been subjected to a great torture for only three days because she hadn't pay attention to him, and sometimes he became foolish. Max glanced at him.

"I, I didn't mean to bother you. I was angry."

"That's really terrifying." The eyes of Riftan, who was playfully spouting, suddenly became serious.

"Maxi, I said you could be a healer here if you wanted to, but I'm going to get another healer as soon as possible." She blushed with disappointment.

"Is it because you don't trust me?"

He is a man who can't stand to see a single drop of dust, let alone a bundle of luggage on her shoulder. She decided that she should be satisfied with the official approval. Spoiler on their first fight. This has been mentioned already.. when they had a fight and Maxi avoided Riftan for 3 days. It's a milestone for Maxi since she always say 'it's ok' and this was the first time she openly got mad at Riftan.
Riftan prevented Maxi from overdoing magic when she drained her mana/horsepower and got really sick. So Maxi uses healing magic without telling him. Ruth was in an expedition during this time and there are no other wizards in Anatol.

So far, peaceful days continue, but there was no guarantee that it wouldn't change. Anatol was a land facing a turbulent change. Every day new things happened here, and amid the rapid changes, big and small problems were occurring. In her half-year in Anatol, she has gone through more than she's ever had in her life. And through all that, I learned clearly how important it is to prepare in advance. I could never waste my time. She got up as early as possible to study magic ceremonies or study herbs. She sometimes treated the injured on behalf of Ruth. Repeatedly, even the soldiers who were careful at first began to accept her existence as natural. She stopped by the infirmary at a fixed time to cast healing spells on at least five to ten people, and later took care of small illnesses such as colds and headaches and insomnia with various herbal remedies. "F**k it, you hid it from me on purpose!"

"Do you mean it? Damn, I was the only one who didn't know what my wife was doing all day. I feel like a fool! How can you do this without my knowledge? You know how much I care about you." "Are you really going to do this? Earlier, I..." The force suddenly drained out of Riftan's voice. He took his hand off the blanket and flopped down by the bedside. After a moment of heavy silence, he said coldly.

"Okay, do as you please." and then took off his shoes and lay flat on the bed. Max lay as far away from him as possible, with a feeling of sorrow and indignation, and curled her back. I didn't want to mix words with Riftan. But when he gave up too easily, I got angry. What on earth did I want?
She hugged herself, soothing gently, and wished he would apologize for not being sincere or sorry for saying harsh words. I felt betrayed by his cold attitude.

The Cold War continued until the next day. Max hid herself in the blanket until Riftan went out, and only after he reluctantly left did she get up and lock herself in Ruth's tower. There she spent her time reading books and mixing herbs as usual. Riftan's words suddenly popped into my head and I couldn't concentrate. She fell down on the desk and bit her lips like they were falling apart. No matter how hard I try, Riftan will not recognize her. Why not? Riftan left Maxi to the monastery before going to the subjugation. (They only need a healer for their trip from Anatol to Liban (if im not mistaken haha i forgot) because there were many monsters on the way. They were accompanied by priests for the actual subjugation). The Grand Duke asked why not leave Maxi to the Palace so Riftan explained that he does not want Maxi to be caught up in any political dealings. Those who would approach her there would not have any sincere intentions.

Riftan just turned to leave her in the monastery which is kind of cold comparing to their other goodbyes. However, Riftan suddenly stopped and ran back to Maxi. He gave her his lucky coin. When he was still a mercenary, they believed that this coin would give them luck. Maxi tried to give it back because if it is lucky then Ruftan should have it so he would not be hurt. Riftan refused and said that he will feel more at ease if Maxi have it.

So the days where Maxi stayed at the monastery started. She is staying there together with other noble ladies(who are very nice). These noble ladies would donate their stuff so that they can give food and other necessities to the wounded and the evacuees. For them, it is the least they can do since their husbands are out there risiking their lives. Maxi was not able to give anything except a mirror because she was not able to pack some money. The noble ladies assured her that her presence is enough as people looked up to Riftan.

Since there were waves of evacuees fron the war, it is inevitable for sickness to spread. They were now worrying about the spread of the sickness since there was only one clinic left in the place because many priests have joined the subjugation. Maxi commented that she noticed that a certain type of herb (i forgot the name) grows at the back of the clinic which cures stomachache. The noble ladies and the priests were surprised that she knows this. Maxi told them that she is a healer. It was fortunate that Ruth taught her about herbs. Books are also a luxury so it is understandable that few knows about this. Maxi started to work in the clinic after this. Instead of decreasing the number of the sick people, it actually doubled. Rumors of a skilled healer spread.

However, after a few days they were being asked to go back to their families as they could not be supported in the monastery. The war with the monsters (trolls) have been drawn out.

Idsilah( one of the noble ladies) told Maxi that she would be sneaking in to the rear. The rear would only provide support so it would not be that dangerous. This noble lady comes from a family of knights. Maxi went with her (even though she knew that Riftan's anger will peak). She just want to see Riftan even from afar. Just to make sure that he is okay.

(They were actually attacked by trolls en route to Servin Castle but were saved by the Osiria Knights, the paladins. One troll was still alive but Maxi was saved by Leon, their leader. This has been spoiled already afaik)

They arrived at the Servin Castle and Maxi worked there as a healer. She does not use magic as she heals many people. One day, Ruth ans Elliot finally arrived at that place. He was rescued by Riftan and the Remdragon knights.

(Their meeting is actually funny and what made me write this long spoiler. Haha. Ruth is my favorite character from Under the Oak Tree aside from Maxi and Riftan. He is a great friend and mentor of Maxi. )

Maxi approached Ruth to give him water. Ruth did not bother looking at her and just took the water mistaking her as just another one of the priestess so Maxi touched his arm. The moment Ruth saw her, he stood up as if he was struck by lightning and was about to scream but Maxi told him to be quiet. Ruth asked Maxi if she is now a priestess and what about Sir Calypse lol. Maxi told him not to say any nonsense. She asked him barrage of questions like is Riftan okay, is he okay, she heard that there were injured knights from Remdragon but Ruth told her to give him some time to clear his head because Maxi just popped out of nowhere.

Ruth asked if the Grand Duke knows that she's here. She told him that no one knows that she's there and that she's hiding her identity. Ruth told her that Riftan would be upset. Maxi told him to be quiet.

Ruth's reply is as follows:

"Why are you doing this to me? Please hide it so desperately from me too! You don't have to get me involved."

Max's eyes narrowed at the harsh words. Her heart that was so glad that tears were coming quickly disappeared.

"Oh, it's been a long time since... Is that all you have to say? Well, how worried I have been... !"

"Then, did you think that I would be happy to meet you and dance?"

Maxi was kinda sad by Ruth's reaction to being there. Ruth was the one who taught her the use of herbs and magic but he was not happy that she was a healer there. She thought to herself if Ruth's reaction was like that, what more would Riftan's reaction be. Ruth was proud of her progress though and helped her hide from Riftan. He told her that if her intention is to just see if Riftan is safe the she must observe him 1km away. Maxi was surprised (lol) but Ruth told her that Riftan's has excellent senses moreso if she's around.

They arrived at the last place they will move to before the final battle. Maxi accidentally saw Riftan when she was about to take a bath in a lake. She immediately pulled her hood and was about to turn away when Riftan stopped her and asked her to look up. Idsilah(the noble lady with her) jumped in between them and explained that priestess are forbidden to look at men and they should go now. Riftan allowed them to pass but the moment that they turned their backs he pulled Maxi's hood.

Riftan was so angry. They were having a shouting match at the barracks but was stopped by Uslin (this is also the time Maxi told Riftan that she is not a duke's daughter but a knight's wife from previous spoilers). He told them that they have gathered spectators outside and if they do not plan on sharing their story then they should stop. Riftan left because he might say words he would regret and would cool his head first. Maxi cried after this and Uslin felt awkward so he called Ruth and Elliot. Yurizion also came with them. Everyone is scolding Ruth because he hid Maxi. Even Uslin scolded Ruth and told him that he should have prioritized Maxi's safety above all. Maxi defended Ruth as best as she could.

"Can you explain to me what you're doing here?"

"...uh, just because there was an injured soldier, I was there and healed him."

Max rolled her eyes and gave a healing spell to the knight who had his legs broken. His eyes narrowed further. She lifted herself up with a stiff smile.

"Now, ··, I think I've done all my work. Well, keep working." And then I tried to slip out of it, but it wasn't Riftan to let me go. He snarled, clasping her arm.

"I heard it's been a while since you've been acting like a therapist here, Why did I know that now?"

"You, you're busy. I didn't want to make you worry about this little thing." Her excuse only hardened Riftan's face.

"F**k it, you hid it from me on purpose!"

"I, I didn't hide it. I just didn't say it.

"Do you mean it? Damn, I was the only one who didn't know what my wife was doing all day. I feel like a fool! How can you do this without my knowledge? You know how much I care about you." Max, who was sweating and making excuses, suddenly crumpled her face. Why the hell should I be listening to these accusations? As my efforts have passed through my head, I began to get angry. She looked up at him with a rebellious look.

"What did I do?"

"··What?'

"I just cured the injured knight. Well, is that a bad thing? Do you blame me for helping the injured person?"

"There is no one left in this castle but me who can use healing techniques. I won't overdo it like I did before. Now I don't have to worry about falling down because I've improved my horsepower." Riftan changed his attitude and soothed her gently.

"I'll hire a healer as soon as possible. I don't like you doing this. Why are you so stubborn and suffering?"

"Why can't I do something difficult? Riftan, Ruth, and the knights do all kinds of difficult things. Why am I the only one who can't do it?"

"You're different from us. You're a duke's daughter!" She blushed. For the first time in my life, I was under the impulse to hit someone. (LOL^^)

"Well, what's wrong with that? Ah, Princess Agnes, do all kinds of rough and dangerous work! What's wrong with the duke's daughter?" Riftan couldn't find anything to refute and only his lips were fluttering. Hebaron, who was watching with his arms folded from behind, blew a small whistle.

"The leader is pushed?" Riftan looked at him and stared at her again.

"Princess is a sorcerer with all kinds of experiences since she was a child! How does she compare with you?" He puffed around and took a rough breath. Even Hebaron, who was watching the fight between the couple, wrapped his hand around his forehead. Max looked up at him with a bluish face, and her head dropped weakly. To my shame, my eyes grew hot. Even if it was true, would he have to say it in front of everyone? I was overcome with sorrow.

"Damn, I mean.." she coldly shook off his hand, which sat on her shoulders. The mouth of Riftan was stripped from shock. Max stared at him and ran out the door with a thud.

"Damn it, I know you're not sleeping. Wake up." Slowly annoyed, the quilt-shaking hands got rough. Max obstinately closed her eyes as she struggled not to get the blanket taken away. I heard a grinning sound from my bedside.

"Are you really going to do this? Earlier, I..." The force suddenly drained out of Riftan's voice. He took his hand off the blanket and flopped down by the bedside. After a moment of heavy silence, he said coldly.

"Okay, do as you please." and then took off his shoes and lay flat on the bed. Max lay as far away from him as possible, with a feeling of sorrow and indignation, and curled her back. I didn't want to mix words with Riftan. But when he gave up too easily, I got angry. What on earth did I want?
She hugged herself, soothing gently, and wished he would apologize for not being sincere or sorry for saying harsh words. I felt betrayed by his cold attitude.

The Cold War continued until the next day. Max hid herself in the blanket until Riftan went out, and only after he reluctantly left did she get up and lock herself in Ruth's tower. There she spent her time reading books and mixing herbs as usual. Riftan's words suddenly popped into my head and I couldn't concentrate. She fell down on the desk and bit her lips like they were falling apart. No matter how hard I try, Riftan will not recognize her. Why not? She would not even reached the toes of a beautiful sorcerer who could have been his wife.

The judges were so twisted to the point that they couldn't help themselves. It was clear that he had no intention of including himself in areas other than five hours a day and five hours spent in the bedroom. Riftan looked at the back of the knights, who were moving away with expressionless faces, and held his hands around her face and lowered his head. The warm lips touched gently and then fell off. With a fluffy kiss, Max was red to the nose.

"Ki, don't kiss me. I, ··I haven't resolved my anger yet."

"You know how to make a man impatient." He smiled bitterly and wrapped her hair in one hand. A low sigh fell over her hair.

"But really stop now. You've bothered me enough for three days," she looked up at him with a hazy look. It was funny to act as if he had been subjected to a great torture for only three days because she hadn't pay attention to him, and sometimes he became foolish. Max glanced at him.

"I, I didn't mean to bother you. I was angry."

Riftan cynically distorted its mouth, as if he could not agree. He asked in a sullen tone, leaning his head against a wooden post.

"And what else?"

"trust, trustworthy, good lead, leadership skills... a, and... y, you're handsome."

"You think I'm handsome?”

"...Ri, Riftan, you know that."

"How do I know what you think of my appearance?”

Max blinked blankly because she was dumbfounded.

"I, I also have eyes, Ri, Riftan... m, my esthetic sense is the same as other people."

"Every time I visited the Croix castle, you shuddered as if you had met an evil ogre.”

Riftan spoke out.

"It was not like looking at a man who was absolutely charming. I bet Goblin's squiggly face looked more lovely than that."

"I, I... I've never seen a Go, goblin." (side note: Goblin's will become the main enemy of maxi, she will always have problems with them and need to fight them)

"That's not the point."

He tugged at her chin so that she looked at him.

"You acted as if you'd faint, when I just get close to you."

Max was perplexed by the interrogative tone of his speech. I never dreamed that he cared about my attitude. In fact, she thought he wouldn't have noticed her at all until their wedding.

"I was... scared of, of you. Y, you're too big, and you're face, facial expressions were so cold. Riftan, uh, always seemed a, angry at so, something"

Riftan was silent for a long time. Max wriggled uncomfortably in his arms. Soon he opened his mouth.

"Are you still afraid of me?”

Max shook her head slowly. Riftan, looking down at her face, suddenly tilted her head and overlapped their lips. It was a hot kiss that was different from the surprise kiss that felt like playing around. She groaned thinly, feeling his soft tongue rushing into her mouth.

He grabbed around the back of her neck and stroked her hair that was disheveled in the wind, sucking her tender tongue. Then a thrilling shudder flowed along her spine and their chest clung tightly together. Flames shot up her lower abdomen as he wrapped it with his finger and gently rubbed it.

"Ri, Riftan... y, you can't do this outside."

"It's all right. It's just you and me here. If anyone approaches us, I can notice it quickly.”

She felt the hot heat coming out of his body and trembled. Riftan had such a calm face that she had not noticed that he was in such a firm state of swelling. He pulled her close to his lower body and pulled up the hem of her dress. Max looked up at him in embarrassment. Riftan's eyes were burning black as charcoal.

"Don't be scared. I will never hurt you.”

The words resonated thickly in my heart. Max looked up at his intense face, holding her breath. He put their forehead together and rubbed their nose together and sucked her lips. A long finger came into the skirt and began to gently caress between the legs. Max clasped his smooth hair.

This person doesn't hurt me. As if desperately clinging to the words.

"You smell like winter."

He groaned thinly, burying his face in her shoulder and inhaling deeply. His body also smelled dry and chilly in the winter wind. The pungent smell of bark, the smell of horses and faint sweat filled her lungs.

"I'd love to kiss you all over. But if I take your clothes off here, you might get sick.”

He fretted, sweeping her skin down over the hem of her dress. Max seemed to have caught fire all over her body, so she couldn't feel the cold at all, but she didn't speak out. The courage to lie on the open hill without wearing a single thread on her body was not big enough. In fact, doing this here in itself was something that should not have been done.

But I couldn't get away from him at all.

He is so frustrated cause he can't touch Maxi three days in a row
I can understand how three years of their separation feels like a torture to him when he can't even stand it for three days

Hello queens (and kings). Just wanted the thank all the lovely people itt who have provided such warm and fluffy spoilers! This is one of my first (and fav) korean novels and I couldn't help myself from reading as much of it as possible. I have a few questions, not about spoilers, but about the novel itself. Forgive me if these have been answered way back, I browsed the thread and didn't seem to see any answers for these:

1. Has there any current updates on the author's health? I'm worried about her and understand her need for privacy, but want to wish her the best and thanks for such beautiful art. With her taking such a long break I can't help but worry for her health, I really hope she is okay and in good spirits. Does she have a social media that she updates, even if it's in Korean?

2. Has there been any announcements for an ~official~ english translation? I would like to buy a copy if so. As far as I know, the only official copies are in korean. I'd also purchase official chinese or japanese translations.

3. Has wordexerpt updated subscribers on the legal situation as of the new month? I know they stopped translations because of these negotiations and was wondering the progress on that....

4. Why is maxi so adorable?

1. To be true, I heard many reasons why the author is still on break, but I'm not sure which one of these is true or if all of them are true. But I heard she has really bad back pain and some even said that she has psychological problems, because some fans were really bad and didn't stop giving her negative comments . She is still not back and no one knows when she will come back, but I really hope, that she will come back before the year ends, but more than that, I hope she will be healthy ,poor author . Sadly I didn't find any social media accounts from her, just one interviews book, that you can also download and read on Ridibooks for free, and a site where she once answered fan questions about the novel. 2. I don't know if there are official chinese or japanese translations, but regarding the official english translation, then I think Wordexerpt will be doing it, after they got the licenses
