Chapter 5 Aria, her father and their escorts were attacked by monsters (hounds). Her father (Count) fainted from fear. Aria thought that the hound was going to attack her but the hound was actually friendly. It was revealed that sirens are called friend of the animals. The man who was with the hounds was curious about why the hounds were friendly with her because the hounds would only yield to those who are strong. The man looked at her and said that she looked so weak, even weaker than a bug. Aria remembered her past life where she could not interact with animals because her father would immediately kill them in fear of the animals helping Aria to escape. Aria began to touch the hound because she thought that they were cute (almost everyone else were scared of the hounds because they're monsters) although the hound was bigger than her. The man brought Aria to the Duke's castle and was greeted by the head butler. The butler welcomes them to the Duke's castle and tells them that they were only able to survive because of Aria. Aria was given a cup of chocolate with marshmallows on top by the butler. When she tasted the drink, she was curious about the marshmallow and made a face. Seeing this, the butler tells her that the floating white thing on top of the drink is called marshmallow. Aria misheard what he said (she heard marsh melon), and was thinking why it doesn't taste like melons. The man repeats what the butler said (about them only surviving because of Aria), and the Count replied that he actually came to the Duke's castle in order to introduce his daughter— Aria, as a possible fiance for the Duke's son. He gestured for Aria to remove her mask to show them her face but she did not remove it (she was wearing a mask because 1)in her past life, her face was scarred and she thought that she became scarred in this timeline and 2) she thought that she was not pretty).
Spoiler: Chap 19 and 20 Chapter 19 and 20 are both about Vincent the second son and Lloyd is only mentioned in the first few pages of chapter 18. Teaaaars if anyone is interested in Vincent, he’s described as blond haired with lake blue eyes and a genius which is how he ended up being adopted by the Valentine family. He’s always in the library which is where Aria has been going to practice her singing. The library is soundproof. Also he’s always trying to push Arias buttons by talking down to her and making her feel dumb. Chapter 20 ends with Aria throwing something at him because she finally lost her patience with him. Side note: on chapter 19 Aria is found sleeping in the forest surrounded by animal and it’s described as majestic so I think Vincent actually likes her and his behavior might be some type of stradegy, but it’s still too early to tell
Honestly, I'm really hoping Vincent is a good kid. The promo gives him the look we shouldn't trust and my first impression of him has been affected thanks to Lloyd's semi cold treatment towards him on his intro chapter (not to mention, he's the smiling type that seems to hide his intention character)
Honestly, I'm just looking forward to the promo where MC heals the Jaguar and Lloyd finally lets down his guard and accepts her as his future bride. If it'll be a while, I just want more Father x MC bonding or even potential Mother x MC bonding. MC deserves to experience familial love first after all. From the spoilers of 22, seems like my impression of Vincent has gotten better (or I misunderstood the spoilers)
The promo's great. MC and ML are so cute together I wonder what happened to the Siren race? From what we know so far, she is the last of her kind right? And her mother was kidnapped/taken by her biological father? What caused the downfall of the race.. Were they all hunted down, died of an illness, got caught and put in cages to sing until they die, or did the Sirens live in a very remote place that nobody knows and everyone assumed our MC is the last of her race..? Maybe they all ran away and was planning to live in hiding and MC's mom got caught and she became the wife of a noble that the other sirens had no choice but to leave her and eventually MC's mother gave birth to MC and now everyone thinks MC is the last of her kind or maybe the entire Siren race just died of an illness or got hunted down, or got caught one by one and put in cages to sing until they all died one by one.. Well either way, the story of the Sirens' seems pretty interesting.. The author will probably talk about the Sirens in future chapters.
Spoiler: Ch 90 Aria and Lloyd leave the palace to go to Lloyd’s childhood home. While in the carriage Aria thinks she needs to bring back his memories to help break the curse. At the mansion he talks a little bit about when he was a kid, Aria smiles and thinks about how cute he was. While Lloyd is reminiscing about his (sad) childhood memories Aria holds his hand and starts blushing. Spoiler when Lloyd was reminiscing about his childhood memories. Suddenly there was a soft, warm warmth on my hand. Looking down, it was Aria's hand. He raised his head. Aria's cheeks were as red as a watercolor painting. Lloyd imagined that he would crush the hand and let it go. He’s in pain and he’s afraid that he could kill/hurt Aria because of the curse and has a nightmare where he finds her dead Spoiler: Nightmare He eventually opened the door so slowly that he could hear the squeaking hinges. And beyond the door was Aria, who had fallen on the red puddle on the floor, unable to even close her eyes properly. Aria. This can’t be real. It was not supposed to happen. Lloyd ran in a hurry and hugged Arya. He wakes up and starts crying and he’s shocked because it was just a dream and it’s the first time he’s ever cried. Aria sensed something was wrong so she was already in his room and she comforted him and he realizes not only does he want to live but he wants to live with her. Spoiler Aria reached out and wiped Lloyd's eyes. At that touch, Lloyd casually said, "I want to live."(Lloyd) "…..."(Aria) "I want to live. With you."(Lloyd) I revealed what I just realized.
