Hello, I'm here from the webtoon. I already started reading the novels, but I hate shoujo cliché so I went search for spoilers and searching it, I found a few scary panels, so before I get anymore then this, Is there any 2nd ML or love triangles ??
That could explain the "Jealousy" "Obsessive love" "Male yandere" " Lovers reunited" tags
That would be insta drop for me.

it will show you how much riftan was dying everyday ever since he met her first time ever to just glance at her from far away!!
for almost 10 years, she was his only reason to live till he saw her again and was shattered when she was shivering when he was standing in front of her!!
but riftan is just a sweet heart!!
you won't regret sticking till the end!!
not that it ended anyways...

Wait, that's great news, but there was this white-haired guy too close to Maxi in some fanarts.
Also, what do you mean by the last sentence? I saw someone hinting that Riftan dies at the end. What the hell, that cant be. And multiple "poor Riftan"

the white haired guy I believe id ruth, he's maxi's really real good friend and mentor
he taught her magic and all about the herbs
and he also helped her defeat her stuttering problem
the fans just are fawning on ruth and just a fanart is a fanart
and poor riftan because maxi left him foe 3 years to go to the magix academy and they haven't met till 3 years later and riftan was dying everyday without her
and what nonsense about riftan dying?
if that did happen, why would this thread be here in the first place?

Thanks for all the insight, I really appreciate it . Well for the rest, that sounds to me like some forced 2nd ML for the trope of fans that are into that crap. Does Riftan also gets some female "friend" to balance things out? Or is this really the shoujo setup ? (giving all kind of love interest to the FL while ML is always in love, jealous, but doesn't get to know any other female - but it's alright because ... FEMINISM ?) this is why I avoid shoujo like a plague.
I guess I will wait till the webtoon is completed and then decide if I should read it instead of drop it right away.

there is his female boss that was supposedly his "potential marriage partner", princess agnes I believe
riftan doesn't hate her as she's a really good fighter and warrior
but maxi misunderstands somehow?
but apparently, later he won't even stand looking at agnes's face as whenever he sees her he gets furious and his blood boils because apparently, she's the one who suggested to maxi to go to the magic academy, and in riftan's head, agnes is his worst nightmare because she's he and maxi got separated 4 a whole 3 years!! (anyone please feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong)

Spoiler on their first fight. This has been mentioned already.. when they had a fight and Maxi avoided Riftan for 3 days. It's a milestone for Maxi since she always say 'it's ok' and this was the first time she openly got mad at Riftan.
Riftan prevented Maxi from overdoing magic when she drained her mana/horsepower and got really sick. So Maxi uses healing magic without telling him. Ruth was in an expedition during this time and there are no other wizards in Anatol.

Every day new things happened here, and amid the rapid changes, big and small problems were occurring. In her half-year in Anatol, she has gone through more than she's ever had in her life. And through all that, I learned clearly how important it is to prepare in advance. I could never waste my time. She got up as early as possible to study magic ceremonies or study herbs. She sometimes treated the injured on behalf of Ruth. Repeatedly, even the soldiers who were careful at first began to accept her existence as natural. She stopped by the infirmary at a fixed time to cast healing spells on at least five to ten people, and later took care of small illnesses such as colds and headaches and insomnia with various herbal remedies. "Now, ··, I think I've done all my work. Well, keep working." And then I tried to slip out of it, but it wasn't Riftan to let me go. He snarled, clasping her arm.

"I heard it's been a while since you've been acting like a therapist here, Why did I know that now?"

"You, you're busy. I didn't want to make you worry about this little thing." Her excuse only hardened Riftan's face.

"F**k it, you hid it from me on purpose!"

"I, I didn't hide it. I just didn't say it.

"Do you mean it? Damn, I was the only one who didn't know what my wife was doing all day. I feel like a fool! How can you do this without my knowledge? You know how much I care about you." Max, who was sweating and making excuses, suddenly crumpled her face. Why the hell should I be listening to these accusations? As my efforts have passed through my head, I began to get angry. "··What?'

"Are you really going to do this? Earlier, I..." The force suddenly drained out of Riftan's voice. He took his hand off the blanket and flopped down by the bedside. After a moment of heavy silence, he said coldly.

"Okay, do as you please." and then took off his shoes and lay flat on the bed. Max lay as far away from him as possible, with a feeling of sorrow and indignation, and curled her back. I didn't want to mix words with Riftan. But when he gave up too easily, I got angry. What on earth did I want?
She hugged herself, soothing gently, and wished he would apologize for not being sincere or sorry for saying harsh words. I felt betrayed by his cold attitude.

The Cold War continued until the next day. Max hid herself in the blanket until Riftan went out, and only after he reluctantly left did she get up and lock herself in Ruth's tower. There she spent her time reading books and mixing herbs as usual. Riftan's words suddenly popped into my head and I couldn't concentrate. She fell down on the desk and bit her lips like they were falling apart. No matter how hard I try, Riftan will not recognize her. Why not? She would not even reached the toes of a beautiful sorcerer who could have been his wife.

"Don't pretend I'm not here, look me in the face and talk!"

"No."

Riftan breathed deeply into her gushing reply. His tone was broken.

"Maxi, last time I made a mistake. I never meant to ignore you or demean you." But when she didn't raise her head, he began to appeal desperately.

"I was just worried about you. I didn't want to burden you! Once you start playing the role of a healer, people will find you whenever they have trouble. Someday you might have to overdo it like last time. Sh*t, I don't want you to suffer from that!"

Riftan was like a man who was hit on the head. He darted his lips, and his head dropped weakly. His face was clouded with dismay.

"I see what you mean." Riftan muttered helplessly.

"If you really want to be a healer, do it. So please don't look like that. Don't avoid me." That sullen look made Max feel like a child in a trance. She is the one who has been hurt by the harsh words, but why does he look like a person who struggled for many days? Max, who had been glaring at him, slowly nodded, realizing that he was waiting for her answer. Then, Riftan's stiff shoulders were relieved of tension. He pulled her head to his chest and hugged her tightly. At that moment, knights who silently watched their quarrel applauded in unison. "Ki, don't kiss me. I, ··I haven't resolved my anger yet."

"You know how to make a man impatient." He smiled bitterly and wrapped her hair in one hand. A low sigh fell over her hair.

"But really stop now. You've bothered me enough for three days," she looked up at him with a hazy look. It was funny to act as if he had been subjected to a great torture for only three days because she hadn't pay attention to him, and sometimes he became foolish. Max glanced at him.

"I, I didn't mean to bother you. I was angry."

"That's really terrifying." The eyes of Riftan, who was playfully spouting, suddenly became serious.

The guards were also busy clearing the snow off the patrol route from the morning.

While wandering through the garden and watching the snow, Max saw them working deligently, and then returned to her room after ordering Rodrigo to distribute more firewood than usual. She thought of going to the library, but she was in no mood to look into the book because she was exhausted from yesterday's discouragement. (side note: she means her discouragement regarding her not feeling the mana from the mana stones)

Max sat on a rug in front of the fireplace for the first time in a long time, playing with the cats. Ron, Laura, and Roy, who have received a lot of love from the maids for the past few days, were looking fat and rolling down the floor cheerfully.

Max rose from her seat with a nervous face and opened the door. Then she saw Ruth yawning with his tired face. The tension drained off her shoulders. Apparently, nothing happened again.

"W, w, what's going on?"

"Oh, ma'am, good morning."

It was well past the morning, but Max didn't bother to correct it. Ruth yawned again, stretched all the way and said the business.

"I came here after thinking of a good training method. Can you come out for a moment?"

"A, a good... training method...?”

Max opened her eyes round. Ruth nodded vigorously with a childlike innocent face. Despite yesterdays considerable disappointment, she wore a robe, while she felt her expectations creep up again.

"W, what kind of m, method is it?”

"I'm inducing mana into you. You have a weak grip on mana, but you have a good absorption, so I'm sure this will work."

This is one of my first (and fav) korean novels and I couldn't help myself from reading as much of it as possible. I have a few questions, not about spoilers, but about the novel itself. Forgive me if these have been answered way back, I browsed the thread and didn't seem to see any answers for these:

1. Has there any current updates on the author's health? I'm worried about her and understand her need for privacy, but want to wish her the best and thanks for such beautiful art. With her taking such a long break I can't help but worry for her health, I really hope she is okay and in good spirits. Does she have a social media that she updates, even if it's in Korean?

2. Has there been any announcements for an ~official~ english translation? I would like to buy a copy if so. As far as I know, the only official copies are in korean. I'd also purchase official chinese or japanese translations.

3. Has wordexerpt updated subscribers on the legal situation as of the new month? I know they stopped translations because of these negotiations and was wondering the progress on that....

Spoiler on their first fight. This has been mentioned already.. when they had a fight and Maxi avoided Riftan for 3 days. It's a milestone for Maxi since she always say 'it's ok' and this was the first time she openly got mad at Riftan.

She hugged herself, soothing gently, and wished he would apologize for not being sincere or sorry for saying harsh words. I felt betrayed by his cold attitude.

The Cold War continued until the next day. Max hid herself in the blanket until Riftan went out, and only after he reluctantly left did she get up and lock herself in Ruth's tower. There she spent her time reading books and mixing herbs as usual. Riftan's words suddenly popped into my head and I couldn't concentrate. Max played dice for the first time in her life. They were mixed with people and watched street performances, bought beer with a stale smell, and tasted a small piece of pie made with an unidentified meat in a thin dough. After filling her stomach with unfamiliar food, she was pushed by the princess to participate in a pole throwing contest.

Agnes, who threw the pole first and scored well, kindly explained it. Max climbed awkwardly on the podium and swallowed her dry saliva. A little further away, Riftan stood with folded arms watching. The women burst into laughter, clapping their hands without a hint of shame. Max frowned at the strong smell of alcohol and pulled back. The women continue to play with cat-like smiles as if circling around a fish.

"I envy you, for having such a handsome man as your husband."

"Really! Come on, can you lend me him a little? Isn't a good guy supposed to be shared?”

The impudent request turned Max blue. Their behavior of reaching out to married men in public under the influence of alcohol was shocking to Max, who learned that "modesty" is the virtue of a lady. As if caught in the snare of a prostitute (thats the only thing mtl said, so I'm not sure) walking out of hell, Max clung to Riftan's arm.

"Oh, no. I can't lend him!"

"Hey, don't be like that."

"Let's borrow him a little."

"No, not even a little!"

Max looked up at Riftan with a tearful face, meaning to tell him to do something with these people. Then Riftan, who had been hardened like a stone, blinked his eyes as if he had just come to his senses, and rubbed his face roughly with one hand. His sunburned nape turned reddish.

"Ah, so....”

He rolled his eyes, fumbling as if he were looking for something to say.

"She... she says I can't be lend.”

It was a vague remark at best. Max stared at him in disbelief. Then, a loud laugh came from somewhere.

"Oh, no. No one's gonna believe this. Margot said such stupid things.” (side note: Margot is a strong and hard to kill monster and also Riftans nickname)

Princess Agnes, who had been chasing her, was muttering nonsense and holding her belly while laughing. Her laughter was so loud that the eyes of the drunken, dazed women returned to focus.

"Huh, I thought I'd find a nice man after a long time, but to think there are two women....”

The woman, staring at the princess with puzzled eyes, shrugged their shoulders as if the excitement had cooled down.

"It's no big deal, sister. Let's go over there and have some more fun."

The women gave a disappointing sigh and soon turned away, waving their hands gently.

"It was nice to meet you anyway. If you'd like to change your mind and have some fun, please come to the Redin Inn."

The women left gracefully, like a cat wagging its tail, with brazen words to the end. Max narrowed her eyes thinly and glared disapprovingly at their back. How dare you seduce a married man? She ran away like the wind in an instant. They left the men with perplexed faces and headed for the green fields, where the music was flowing.

On the gentle hill, young women with flower crowns were dancing, waving long belts. Agnes held Max's hand and jumped between them without hesitation.

"Let's dance, too!"

Max was swept away by women dancing in the cold, and began to twirl around, holding hands with the princess. It was more like hopping than dancing, but everyone was playing happily on the grass to the sound of music, so I didn't feel any strange about making such frivolous moves. Max unwittingly began to follow them on the lawn.

Max shuddered pitifully under the pressure of his rocky body. It was hard to believe that they were doing this outdoors in broad daylights, not far from the crowd.

Am I out of my mind? When it was not enough to dissuade her, she started tugging at the hem of his garment and stroke his firm chest muscles.

Riftan, like an angry hound, scattered kisses along her neck, pulled her dress and put his hand into her clothes. A deep sigh came as the hot palms with thick calluses stimulated the sensitive part of the breast.

Max rubbed her forehead against his shoulder in excitement.
