Yeah that is what I thought happened. I think Suhang himself thought that may be the case too in one of the chapters if I am not mistaken. My memory may be wrong though. Thanks for confirming it.

I don't think he's ever had proof of whether or not his visions actually affected the past at all, and thinks of them as just viewing it. He could influence a few people, but he still has no proof of whether it actually influenced anything in history yet. If the heavenly emperor confirms or denies he was the voice that talked to her, he probably will find out which it is.

 

The more powerful Cultivators have seen him and talked to him specifically when he does this. That and he did get the Heavenly Emperor to jump off a cliff while sealing their powers. That's a pretty blaring sign.

 

It could easily just be influencing the vision version of them and not the actual person in the past. Maybe even the vision copies of powerful people are strong enough to break out of being just a vision copy, and that's why they notice him. I think he probably did influence the past, judging by the heavenly emperor part, but he has no complete proof yet, and it might be harder for him to believe he has such an insane and unheard of power than it is for the readers to believe he has it.

 

I think that the only thing he influences is the memory, cuz they only remember him after he dreamed about them
