I write a combination of cursive and print when I'm taking notes. I also know shorthand so sneak in those words as well where I can to take dictation easier. But I prefer touch typing now when taking notes as I'm really fast and accurate that way~

True story: I once got a job because I could write really neatly. Neat writing is still sought after as a skill in the workplace. ^.^

I still write in cursive, but I haven't really written anything in paper since I quit uni.

Nowadays I just type on the computer and stuff... I hate writing on pen and paper, my hands start aching in no time.

I was born in 2001; I spent my years growing up in Italy and it was mandatory to learn cursive and use it (I attended a private school). I can still read amd write it proficiently, rather, I prefer writing in cursive because you don't need to take your hand off until you're done with the word, lol.

When I first came to the states, I was so shocked that none of the kids my age even *knew* what cursive was.

Yes. Because of its resemblance to printed letters. Cursive is also called “handwriting,” btw. Or at least, my mom insisted that that was the case.

Whenever I write cursive, my friend always said I can't read your word, wrote it better. After that In order to help my friend understand my word, I just write normally.

I was taught to write cursive since elementary school, we also have special lesson for that too.

I can write in cursive since it was mandatory in my school to know but it’s honestly not legible by anyone other than me. Plus, I don’t think I’m following the standard version since I tend to revert back to print mid-word whenever I don’t remember how a particular letter looks or how to connect them....

I’d send a photo of my handwriting but I don’t wanna embarrass myself

There's a font known as standard modern cursive. That's what I'm referring to. Standard as in standardized I believe.

LOL I just remembered how fucking bad my handwriting used to be. Cursive is quite convenient to use but no one other than the teachers seemed to understand what I wrote lol.

:hmm: Pretty sure that's just messy writing, rather than standard cursive.

Well, I'm a doctor so my own handwriting is only marginally better than that.

Writing in cursive would be faster if it weren't for the letters i, j, and t, which make it so you have to go back at the end of the word or sentence or paragraph or whatever to put in all the dots and lines in the right places (and making sure to not accidentally cross a lowercase L or something).
