Can someone provide spoilers, possibly chapter wise? How did the empreror realise his feelings and sake for MC. What happened to that bitch of a concubine?
1. I like the concubine, she's really innocent. 2. I don't like the Emperor. I hope he's not the ML. I don't find him cute nor romantic. He's just stupid. 3. She should just play him for 3 months or whatever and find another man. A better one. 4. OR she should just make the concubine fall for the emperor and divorce him. 5. I hate it when I feel like the FL has the responsibility to make him smarter. WTF. If he matures in the future, then good for him, BUT AS A MODERN WOMAN, HE AIN'T IT SIS.
I didn't understand anything. but the emperor has some mental problem ?! why does he treat the empress like this? and why does the empress try to get close to him?
So far in chapter 16 it is most of pride for the empress, she wants him to love her so she can dump him...like oh you like me now cus yesterday you hated my gust so bye. And she plans to figure a way home so she have to act like the empress until she have figured a way
the first few chapters with the ML part were quite distasteful blah! i've come to read more spoilers having my hopes up for another ML but who would have thought that she likes those type of guys (thechildish) emperor argh! weren't she annoyed at all to the point were she could just leave him? that’ll be soo much better! but sadly she didn't. disappointment to the core. im dropping this. so bad. but i love the ending thou still spoilers are the best
Y all know characters undergo a whole entire arc in order to grow as the story progresses right lmao ? Because if there was no conflict the characters would be like cardboard cutouts & read bland af. They gotta have negative qualities which they later work on to become better people & therefore layered & interesting like that is how you write good characters lol. But anyhow I’m enjoying the story & i love the characters. I think it’s refreshing seeing a pretty different dynamic between the main duo. I do enjoy a good virgin tsundere too lmao & esp when you can tell they’re going to go bonkers for the mc down the road which I bet will happen so I’m looking forward to that
I am following the webtoon now too, the art is super cute. The novel is pretty short and I think how the emperor falls in love with the empress is pretty self-explanatory from the webtoon so I will just basically spoil the whole second half of the novel, continuing the previous post for everyone who asked. Imo the ML deservedly suffered enough for everything he put the MC through at the start. Spoiler: Spoiler After the empress’ death, the MC goes back to her original body (she actually knew she had to leave the empress’ body that day but so she asked the emperor to stay with her which became a huge trauma to the ML) and after two years she goes back to the palace disguised as a male escort/bodyguard due to political shenanigans. The MC was actually summoned for a reason, and it involves this radical group founded by the Ryeokuk’s royals who wants to assasinate the emperor. MC felt somewhat attached to the group though she enters the imperial palace and wants to protect the emperor seeing how the ML blames himself hard for everything and turned into someone completely different. The ML also left the empress’ place exactly as it was before, and gave out harsh punishments for everything involving the ‘late’ empress. The story kind of turns into a ‘BL’ romance as naturally the ML is reminded of his one true love-the empress from the MC’s expressions/habits when she starts working as the emperor’s escort and falls in love. ML admits his feeling for the new MC pretty early on, even though he is a ‘male’ escort/bodyguard, because he really regretted losing the empress without admitting his feelings. The ML even gets jealous saying you should be my man even in front of beautiful women lol and that causes Gong Lin to panic again and she tries the frame the MC, and even going as far as recreating the bloody ML’s trauma by harming herself and then copying the last words of the empress to hold onto the ML (which is pretty messed up imo). MC felt angry about that incident and tried to tell him the truth, asking what if the empress is not dead but just hiding herself due to circumstances...but the ML reacted pretty voilently and storms out to go see his concubine. MC was disappointed because it reminded her of her last day - even when it is extremely important, he always chooses Gong Lin. So MC starts acting cold to the ML, refusing the snacks he orders for her, not meeting his eyes, and trying to avoid eating together etc. ML was scared that he hurt the MC, and he didn’t want to lose ‘him’ too so he asked why he was mad and he will try to fix whatever it is which surprised MC since he would have never done this before with the empress. ML even confesses that he is in an unrequited love with him in front of everyone, and tries his best. That’s why when it was revealed MC is part of the infamous group that abducted the empress, it hurt him pretty bad as he thought she approached him on purpose and how he really fell in love with the person who killed the one he loved the most. While in prison, she tries to say she was trying to protect the emperor all along, but the ML was very conflicted with his guilt for the empress. Then when MC is alone with Hoon, she confesses her real identity considering her group obviously abandoned her and left her to die, and to prove it she recounts how they met the first time, with the intruder and the stone... The prison guard listening their conversation was member of the group, so the guard murders the MC while Hoon and the emperor was on their way to the prison. ML sees another bloody gory dead MC, a repeat of his worst nightmare, is shook to the core for the second time. Fortunately, MC goes back to the empress’ body and a lot of political stuff about this prophecy about her and how she will rid of this group from Ryeokuk. She is given three choices including one where she goes back to her original world and forgets everything. But MC chooses to stay with the emperor and goes to the palace and meets the ML. He couldn’t believe his eyes and kept asking Hoon if he was seeing a ghost and is over the moon when the MC comes back in the empress’ body. Then she teases him saying I heard you were having an affair while I was gone and then kind of explains all the prophecy/politics to him. She couldn’t come back officially due to the threats from the group and the ML wanted to kill all the people involved in the group right away, but MC persuades him to wait to avoid shedding innocent blood and work to eliminate all the discrimination against Ryeokuk people which was the root of all this. The stubborn emperor couldn’t even believe himself that he actually listened to her and puts out an edict while she is sleeping. The book ends with the emperor kissing the sleeping MC saying I can endure everything for you (or something similar) with tears.
I want to ask these please, there's a lot and I hope you could help: 1.) How did they fall in love? Was there any particular scene about that? 2.) After the Empress disappeared, what happened to the other concubines, especially that Lin person? 3.) What did the Empress do in those 2 years? 4.) What did the Emperor do as a tyrant? I'm having a hard time imagining because he's such a doofus and pretty childish. I don't think anyone would actually like him as a person (kudos to the Empress for actually achieving that) 5.) What was his reaction to her coming back after 2 years? 6.) Did she ever get to go back to her world? 7.) Did Lin ever get his attention within those 2 years without the Empress? 8.) Were there children in the end?
OMG! I didn't know you were active and was giving spoilers already. I can't believe how far-out this story went. Were the concubines ever divorced to the Emperor? And did he know that she was the same person? All the two identities that he fell in love with?
Spoiler: Spoiler She did tell him both were her after teasing him but he kind of knew it was her before that, considering he thought it was impossible for people to imitate the empress’ little habits like the one with her mouth and Hoon reported to him she was the empress before her prison death. I don’t remember much of the concubine, but she regretted not accepting the emperor’s feeling and tried to make him come back. She hated how everyone was saying that the emperor’s affection is now for someone who rightfully deserves etc After the empress’ disappearance, the emperor only saw Lin as the only other person who was truly close to the late empress and met her to seek comfort regarding stuff about the empress. She was involved in sketchy stuff too, after empress’ death someone pulled strings to have her and the emperor at the hot springs and only then she was able to have a few words with the emperor after months and that person asked for favors in turn. Sorry I don’t recall all the details and some of them maybe off, but there were few side stories which I didn’t read that may have mentioned the children
For a short story, it really packed a lot of roller coaster plotlines! At the end of the story though, do you reckon ever thinking that the ML redeemed himself? Was he a better match for her? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
so if I am not mistaken, the emperor at the beginning of the story loves the concubine Lin but then begins to fall in love with the empress? and the concubine regretted not having returned the emperor's feelings earlier ?!
Do you think that Concubine Lin was actually a good person when her and the Empress became friends but when the Emperor’s favor went to the Empress instead of Concubine Lin she started disliking the female lead? Or was she faking her personality this whole time? If she faked it the whole time she is a damn good actress but I think my first sentence might make more sense considering the circumstances. You don’t know what you got until it’s gone kinda thing?
