I hope so
I want ask why not translate without permission. I know I am selfish, it's just there are many translator who translate without permission. Asking author permission is hard.
I only know melts translator who translate novel with author permission. I think she is very close to author, that's why author give her permission.

Why It Should Get Picked Up:
The previous translator went MIA 2 year ago. One of my favorite novel, It is an excellent fantasy,adventure novel with a unique magic system, the character are all well developed and all the main cast are likable.

Why It Should Get Picked Up: Got dropped by the licenser, fun classic novel. The characters are all well thought out have quite realistic personality,the drama are not forced and the plot are amazing.

 

The novels we want to work on are pretty much set and the options aren't just limited to this thread. Its the landmine of permission which has been stopping me while my companion is busy building his lego army, ranting non-stop and "To hell with their permission! If they decide to sue us then we'll be gloriously ascending the prison!", was what he said. That brat-

As you said, it's a real pain to have the authors give out their words of acknowledgement and to be honest, I'm really tempted to throw hands and dive head first without permission. Also, knowing that CN authors hardly take notice of their works being translated without any prior confirmations; with the added existence of many fan translation sites boosts this desire....

However, my rational side refuses to relent- no translator/ editor likes to have their babies taken down- and seeing how the Goddess of Luck has been ignoring my pleas..I don't want to take any chances. Perhaps, I'll just try for few more days and if then also those 'Higher Beings' decide to coldly snort and take off with no indication of warmth...then I'm afraid, but this Lord will be unleashing her selfish paws
