Discussion I just have to rant.

Reading a novel now and I'm just pissed off!!

So in the novel, there is this general who spends most of his time in the army with zero time for his wife. Most importantly he doesn't love her so it's like he's just going through the motion.

This general got murdered by his deputy and the general's wife is an accomplice.

Understand that though the general doesn't love his wife, he doesn't mistreat her; just like leaving her to her own device.

Now wife fell for deputy sweet mouth (deputy didn't love her, just want to have an insider. He his the one doing all the work while the general is getting the credit so want to do away with general and become the new general.) both conspired together and murdered poor general.

Now herein come our MC as he his to investigate the cause of death (was disguised as if the general committed suicide) MC found out that deputy killed general and unsurprisingly put the deputy to death.

But since the general wife is a once in a lifetime beauty (which is a free pass to all offence in CN) he prepared a ship for her so she can escape (general's family is one powerful clan)

Though the wife committed suicide MC justified her act of killing her husband because according to the Author's logic "loneliness is the most terrifying thing in the world, those who haven't experienced loneliness wouldn't know how terrible it is." so you should take another's life because poor general guy made her lonely.

I'm just so pissed out I feel like grabbing the author's shirt and punch some fucking sense into his head!!

And that is a reason why actual action novels are better than those said romance novels, honestly, I wouldn't even call them romance or drama but who am I to judge

Nope. Wuxia, kinda Kingdom building but not MC kingdom. At least not yet.

 

"I'm pretty and unhappy so everything I wanna do is justified", one of the most annoying things to come out of chinese fiction.

And whats worse is that at this point its so common in chinese amateur fiction that I would genuinely be surprised if it wasnt a thing in rl china.

 

i disagree. what you read sounds like a 5 star master piece. like the author said you simply can't understand because you aren't in their shoes.

stuff like this happened at the beginning (should have noticed the big red flag). Some crazy bitch tried to kill the MC (thrice) and since she's a jade like beauty, all is well. but the guy who tried doing the same..... Well let's just say he wasn't fortunate enough to be a beauty. You will think CN authors haven't heard of "gender equality"

Who else is more worthy than you. Stop being humble, I'm very sure only you can understand and enjoy such great masterpiece.

 

Hmm with my own opinion as a Reader, i am 100% on your side. And if i am to say, based on some sort of Logic, that many Novels only partly have or even have a thing called logic, then maybe the Wife was raised to be a Wife, as in be seen but not heard, and is nothing else as a Vase, good to look but with no use. In this case is she Victim of Idiocy, Time or the Authors.

 

Chinese novels... what can I say
I've stumbled upon way too many dog sht stories like this and it's honestly so frustrating.
That story sounds like a harem I recommend avoiding all harem genres in general because the chance of there being no logic is way too high
