This happened in Chapter 14 to 18 of part 2 . Spoiler: Uslin redeems himself The wizards and Maxi stayed in Anatol for 10 days while waiting for the Osiria Knights. They are about to go to Pamela Pleateau (place of monsters) for a mission. Uslin is the one in-charge of Anatol that time because Riftan is in another small subjugation in Libadon. They learned about Maxi's mission and initially dissuaded her because it is dangerous but the leader of the wizards' party reminded them that Maxi is a wizard of the tower and she is bound by their rules. They would leave the castle immediately if Uslin and the Remdragon Knights were to force her to stay. Uslin and the others backed down because they wanted Maxi and the wizards to have a comfortable stay while waiting for the Osiria Knights. Uslin proceeded to train Maxi in self-defense including the use of dagger that Riftan gave her for the rest of the time that they were waiting in Anatol. This highlighted Uslin's patience because Maxi is very hopeless with martial arts. He also gave Maxi some weapons and armor. (Checkmate haha) Maxi was so frustrated and want to protest but she remembered Yurixion's gloomy face. Gabel pat her back and told her to just give up.

The wizards are not volunteering and there's only one more slot left so they were selecting from the 3 wizards that are capable of search magic (Maxi, Annette, Royald). Royald is known for being a gambler and he suggested to decide who will go by playing a dice game. Annette never played before but agrees. Maxi thinks she's good so she agreed. She even felt sad for Annette (she thinks Annette will lose), but she also doesn't want to worry Riftan more. In the middle of the game, Elliot and Yurixion went inside the barracks to ask the wizards if they already decided who will participate. They were surprised that the wizards are deciding thru gambling. They looked at Maxi's cards and she asked if something is wrong. Yurixion said she is losing but Maxi answered she's second place haha. Riftan also went inside and the room became quiet and tensed. He almost scream when he learned what they're doing. They continued playing while Riftan give them pressure by just watching..Maxi lost in the end. Yurixion whispered: "My lady, just speak and I will silently treat it as an accident!". Riftan who was holding his forehead, looked at Maxi with a somber look, sighed then went out. Elliot comforted Maxi: "From the beginning, we were going to go together, so don't worry too much. This is what I expected." it was just the two of them when they had that conversation..♡ Some parts already spoiled, I'll just add a bit of their reactions Spoiler: Seeing maxi getting hit T__T Riftan was expressionless and as if he was confused on what he was seeing when he stopped the duke from hitting maxi. He didn't immediately went to her but he "calmly" asked what the duke was doing..they were about to go out to have a talk. Riftan looked so calm and restrained that neither Maxi nor the duke understood what was going on until he lifted a chair and hit the duke. He changed his expression only after Elliot and Uslin tried to stop him..the novel said he was like a chained beast. Then Ruth came in and was shocked to see Maxi. He tried to touch her to cast a healing spell when Riftan yelled "Don't touch her!". That's the time Riftan ran towards maxi..Ruth asked him to calm down..after a while ruth tried to heal her again and this time riftan didn't push him away. When he's done, riftan covered maxi with his cloak and carried her. ♡

I hope when the author gets back, they will have another moment.. maybe together with baby Abel wizards gambling - that's a good one Riftan clearly let her win during their time on the ship. I was also hoping they get to meet in Osiria before going back to Anatol since the participants of the war were asked to go there. Royals of western continent are said to be coming as well. Author also mentioned in Q&A that there is a chance to resolve the fans questions on Rosetta.. so we can expect some sisters moments again in the future chapters.

It's like Maxi's sacrifice was pointless for Whedon. Aside from mocking the duke.. does he have something against Maxi because Riftan refused to marry Agnes? That's so selfish of him
The overall setting seems to be in medieval period. And in chapter 108, maxi was said to wear a "bliaud".. when i searched, it's a western european dress from 11th-13th century. I love seeing Maxi's hairstyles and outfits in webtoon and looking forward to some special scenes like the white dress she wore when she got drunk with the knights also her overall look in spring festival.
If you are 18, I think ridi will grant you access since the korean age is a year older than the usual. But that is just my guess.. If my understanding is correct, a newborn is 1 yr old. That's why age 18 is 19 in korea. Which made me think of Maxi and Riftan's real age.. after the dragon subjugation they are 22 and 28..maybe they really are a year younger hahah
Me too, I can't wait to see her wearing the white dress that Yurixion praised that she looks prettier than the druid/nymphs, though it will be a long way to go. Literally every knights was so stunned seeing her in that dress. Gosh! So far when I read the webtoon it was like, Maxi's fashion show. The webtoon artist is so amazing. I love Maxi's dresses so much, she looks pretty wearing everything.
I'll be busy with my work and I wish I could forget the story so I can read and fall in love with oak all over again. I'm so happy to be able to read ahead and somehow give back to the author. I almost cried reading the google translation from ridi, what more once I read the edited and properly translated chapters? The author is truly amazing. Below are some of my thoughts and a bit of spoilers for Oak. I wish I could give others a proper translation but I'm not good with that. I'll let the other angels do that (we know who those angels are ) Spoiler: Thoughts ** They both love each other but due to sad pasts and lack of knowledge/experience, they can't fully express it. Riftan expresses himself mostly by physical love (snusnu), while Maxi doesn't know what she feels because of the years of abuse and lack of love from family. Throughout the story, i didn't read or met a couple, even king Ruben doesn't have a queen. I think it might help if they meet a couple who can express love to each other. 1. Aside from the love story, I was hooked by the war scenes. It felt like I was reading/imagining scenes from Lord of the rings (I soo love that movie). It's amazing how the author took me on a roller coaster of feelings. 2. I love that the author gave just the right amount of attention to Maxi's life of abuse then moved on to her growth. It was really the best decision to go to Hogwarts - she made friends, built self confidence and gained more knowledge. I think it's important that she experience social life that the Duke never gave before moving on to commit her life to Riftan. 3. The never ending step forward, step back for the two lovebirds. Not sure if other readers might find it dragging, but I think it is realistic. It's not easy to bare your heart and soul again once you get hurt. We are like a ticking bomb, one slip and our trust can be shattered again. Riftan's words to Maxi: "To be honest, I still don't know how to treat you" "After letting you go that day.. I couldn't forgive myself.. and you too." "I was resentful as much as I missed you. Those feelings don't disappear in an instant. "On the other hand, you will certainly make the same choice even if you are in that situation again. For me or for yourself..you can make the right choice just because you can't help it. A choice that is impossible for me.." "I am afraid of you.. I don't want to feel that way anymore" 4. I still can't decide who to simp: Ruth, Elliot, Yuri or Hebaron I want to eat them all I was laughing all the time with Hebaron especially the part where he saved a hut so Riftan can share it with Maxi On the other hand, I feel like our Garrow was left behind...not much screen time for him and he even had to suffer that eye injury buut, I can't wait for webtoon to show his transformation after 3 years. 5. Maxi wasn't able to use the Golem magic Although she played an important role in war 2, I feel like it wasn't enough...like what happened in her 2-3 years in Hogwarts? She has little affinity to water, but I didn't see even a tiny bit of that -- Mud lady, right?? 6. Agnes - I really think that she is genuine to Maxi and will not cross the line. The latter is just so insecure. I still don't like king Ruben at this point. 7. The thing with wizards and the holy knights is intriguing. I'll look forward for the proper translation on that one. I didn't fully understand that part. 8. I love Uncle Carlto Although violent to Ruth, he still entrusted him with a secret mission.
