Hello, I'm looking for an original novel without too much grinding and stats (hate that) I just want the world to be interesting with some politics, scheming and complex characters. I would also like an entertaining MC to read. Someone with funny or/and interesting thoughts, not a block of wood. Not constantly suffering or hopelessly op I can be an apocalypse, a cultivation, a fantasy novel Romance is okay if it's a 1v1 Also I need lot's of chapters because I'm bored

I'm looking for novels from other sites like royalroad, The Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich is on my list, I tried to read the first chapters but couldn't get invested in the story. I'm not dropping it though, I will read more chapters to see if it get more interesting
+1 He Who Fights With Monsters. MC gets isekai'd to another world, and isn't OP. He does get a "System", but it conforms to how the rest of the world operates, rather than working around it. There are Stats, but they aren't "Wisdom = 100", but a unique system to this story (Everyone has 4 Stats, Power, Speed, Recovery & Spirit, which align with 4 Essences, specific solidifications of magic with "elemental" properties, which designate what elements an individual can utilise. Through Training, Meditation, and Magical Power Use, one's Magical Powers increase in rank. Each Stat's rank matches the lowest of it's 5 Powers, reaches hurdles called "ranks" at set intervals, and the Essence only awakens the first, you need a different specific solidification of magic to awaken the other 16 powers after you get a full set of Essences. And so forth). World is realistic, with physically powerful individuals held back mostly due to politics than morality. MC is skilled and powerful for his rank, but in no way OP. He is also a complete smart alec, happily making Earth references even when nobody else can possibly understand them, to the confusion of everyone around him.

Joy of Life - Has much of what you want. A Novel with politics, scheming and complex characters. Characters are Fleshed out and not just background. But it is Harem. The Novel is completed. Tales of Herding Gods - Not sure if this is your taste. It has a MC with rather new and Funny Ideas. It has Many chapters too. You can find chapters for both Novels if you search them with Google, the Chapters on NU are not all available that are for free to read.
