i don't understand how Lovia fell in the love with the MC since the one he actually loved is the original Yeadria and he seemed quite obsessed with her too.
Actually, he fell in love at first meeting with our mc who time traveled to the past in the latter half of the story. This was spoiled in the earliest pages on this thread.
MC was shocked too (and Nadricka wasn't). Actually, Lovia and MC’ve spent a lot of time together. He’s teaching her right now, and it’s just behind the scenes. All those scenes when they eat together are actually after their lessons, if I remember correctly. Well, yes and no. Spoiler He certainly did fall in love with MC when they first met, but he became obsessed with OG!Yeldria after that. It was not love, though, as she broke his heart, more like obsession out of pride. I think the reason he fell in love with OG!Yeldria was that he had nothing in his life at all. He does not have friends (same with Nadricka, but he's glad for that as he can be alone; other MLs have other people in their lives (even if it's Yuriel for Essen)); Lovia is completely alone. He doesn't have a purpose in his life, and when he became a concubine, he found one (rather awful way of living to serve one person's wish; in that sense, he and Ecklot are the same). And at the beginning of the novel he already fell out of love with OG!Yeldria. He was sleeping with Yuriel and believed that it's true love, but after a while he realised that he could pretend to love her only because they both did not have feelings for each other. And he fell in love with our MC again, when he saw her for who she is. The following scenes are good insight in Lovia's mind. I'm not sure why they are not included, as they are pretty important, imo. (just Lovia and MC; still without the introduction of Leo Dippet and Sieger, as mtl is kinda difficult there) Spoiler: Lovia's nightmare The damp air circulated the room. The reddish sunlight stretched. Blurry smoke flowed out of the woman's mouth, who could only be seen as a shadow. “Yes, who is here?” The white naked woman slowly got up from the bed. She hung the hookah between his fingers and wore a red garment with a gold leaf pattern on it. The woman's breasts, having absorbed cigarette smoke to her lungs, plummeted and then fell. The smoke was now falling at his feet. “Juranne has come.” Lovia, kneeling far away from her and trembling, swallowed her saliva. The first night he became a concubine, he was abandoned for not satisfying the princess, but he was confident. If he was given a chance once again, surely more than anyone else... … . The woman's bright red lips soon opened. “Juranne? Who is that?” A fine catch flowed down the gracefully inclined head. “… … !” Lovia breathed out and woke up. It was his room. Lovia touched his forehead and covered his eyelids with his palms. It was still dark outside. The dream of gears dragged in front of his eyes the moment he didn't want to remember the most. Well, Ecklot’s not a sub, for sure. Spoiler But he is still a virgin, if I understood one phrase in the 4th volume correctly. He doesn’t even know how to kiss. It’s funny, though. The most naïve looking one (Nadricka) has most experience, while the dom-looking one (Ecklot) is still completely inexperienced. Ecklot and MC's first dance. Cute? Fluffy? I guess so. Set right after that scene with Essen. It’s a bit inconsistent, though still understandable. Spoiler: Ecklot and MC's 1st dance [The party is in full swing. MC is drunk and is sitting alone in the corner, when she suddenly sees Ecklot who is also sitting alone. She comes to him] The party was in full swing. Then what are you doing? No one really! No one came to me. I alternately squeezed fruit and cocktails from the long sofa on the wall into my mouth. Of course, there were a lot of people who flirt. Sometimes there were women. But even those of them said, far from me. Then I discovered. Someone who looks exactly like me from a distance. Thanks so much for the spoilers @Maculan ! I really love the dancing scene, I think it was saying that MC wants Eclot to need her the same as she needs him and also express his needs. The relationship between them is really cute! In the latest chapter (ch.31) of manhwa, he doesn't look inexperienced at all! If based on the spoilers, then this is probably the first time he is summoned to princess's bedroom at night. He even put down his fringe and I guess he might take a shower or sth beforehand (that's why MC said he's late). He's not even blushed when he's kissing MC (he did arouse, tho) - how can he keep the poker face all the time! I'm so curious about the sheet scene between Eclot and MC in the novel. If he is indeed inexperienced, how could he behave like so hot...if you look into the manhwa carefully, he's actually touching MC's hair with one hand and unbutton his shirt with the other (while kissing her at the same time)^ ^ Though I'm pretty much concerned on when does he discover that MC is not the OG!Yeldria and how does he accept the fact? Despite the fact that he's loyal to the imperial family as a whole, he seems to give the top priority to his princess. He comes to her bedroom straightforward after he returns, not even go to visit the emperor first. Also, according to the spoiler, Yuriel reveals her identity as another princess in the disastrous party. If he's truly serving the imperial family then Yuriel should be counted in as well! I think he's really put Yeldria at the highest position in his heart. In addition to this, he goes off a bit when Lovia indicates MC that she mustn't trust him (Ch.31 in the manhwa). I think he's very sensitive to the point that the princess cannot trust him.
Ecklot is capable of distinguishing good from bad (their conversation in chapter 30), even though he doesn’t seem so. He actually wants a master whom he will serve willingly, the one he chooses himself. He’s afraid of choosing his master, though, as he believes that it is the logic of a traitor. And MC will become such master for him, and he’ll be overjoyed, as at last he serves the one whom he chose (later on, he thinks that he’s kneeling willingly in front of her). For that, yeah, his whole life is about servitude, so when Lovia started talking about trust, Ecklot got angry. He’ll obey Yuriel’s orders, but they actually do not interact very much. MC has a higher status than Yuriel, as she's still the crown princess of the empire. Ecklot is righteous and follows orders from MC (such as drug dealers investigation), and Yuriel is one of the culprits (+ his route is terminated for her), so she’s actually not after him and does not seek interactions with him. As I see it, he went straight to MC after coming back from war because she is his master (concubines are property of their spouse and thus he belongs to (owned by) the princess). He’ll know about her not being OG!Yeldria right after they sleep together in 4th volume (OG!Yeldria will show up and talk to him), and it’ll break his heart. Still, he won’t do anything and will serve MC further right until her assassination. Ecklot doesn’t love the princess at that point of the story, even though he’s already started falling for her. It’s more like… gratitude for having a good master for once. + He really doesn’t know his heart at all. He’ll hesitate until 4th volume of what his truly feelings are. And not having experience doesn’t mean not knowing how to do the deed. He’s willing to do everything she asks him, so he must be prepared. Plus, he learns fast. Edit: He will blush! Trust me, he will!

For those who’s wandering about Sieger… Honestly, not sure what I can say more about him. He’s stubborn and doesn’t want to fall in love with MC, as he has his pride. Spoiler - He already spotted that MC has somehow changed. - In the disastrous birthday party he will save her when her maid (Hesse) tries to stab her to death. - In 2nd volume, MC will be imprisoned in tower, where she’ll meet God. After conversation with him, she’ll become ill and will be somehow transported outside the castle walls (?). - She’ll trade one of jewelleries for a horse to get away from the city. - Still, as she’s ill and overall unwell (and she doesn’t know how to ride…), she will lose control over the horse (is it the right way to put it? Not sure). - Sieger will see a woman who’s riding a horse and will save her. She’ll collapse in his hands, he’ll see that she’s the princess (who should be prisoned in the tower, btw). He’ll bring her into his home (she’s unconscious). - He’ll fall in love gradually, in 2nd volume, when they live together. - Also, they are going to deal with drug dealers and slaves traders who terrorise the capital. (Sieger and MC from the streets, Ecklot from the palace) - In the end of 2nd volume (or very beginning of the 3rd one), they will part their ways as she should return to the palace to be the princess. He’ll become the escort knight of Yuriel; for that MC and Sieger will see each other quite often. - They will kiss for the 1st time in 2nd volume. - They will sleep together in 4th volume after the tournament where he'll proclaim that he wants the princess publicly. Also, he’s cheeky and speaks very informal with her (Nadricka even scolded Sieger for that once in 2nd volume). (Essen also speaks informal.)
I know this is not a discussion thread but I'm a bit shocking to see there's not much discussion on Lovia. He's my second favourite ML (after Eclot xx) There's so much part in the manhwa where he acts like a cat. In Chapter 20, he's drinking bitterly after class because MC is late for his class and he's aware that she spent the previous night in Nadricka's room. Look at the way he phrase it, "thanks to that, didn't you end up taking back the amount of time you promised to me?" The time at class is the only time he can spend with MC alone. He couldn't help feeling upset and jealous. In another chapter when MC is going to see her "personal knights", he offers to escort her and say "if it does not displease you" (while blushing and avoid looking at her), like...oh man, he's so desperate for MC's favor yet he can't put it straightforward due to his pride, disagreeable personality, etc. He struggles to gain the princess's love while constantly lower his pride. I wonder what makes he say "it's my first time seeing someone with less self-respect than me" to Eclot in Ch.31, it's so sarcastic cuz we all know he's pretty much a self-respecting aristocrat. Is it because Eclot kneels at the princess and kisses her hand in front of him? And Eclot is a marquis and a war hero whom he cannot compete with in terms of status and achievement (compare with how bitterly he digs at Nadricka). It's quite funny that he tend to provoke every ML, we have already seen two scenes in the manhwa (one with Nadricka, one with Eclot). On the other hand, Eclot doesn't seem to take the initiatives to provoke any ML. In Lovia's case, it is Lovia who speaks ironically first; In another case with Nadricka, even when he see that Nadricka and MC sleep together and Nadricka is pretty much provoking him (putting his hands around MC's waist and revealing the kiss marks), he doesn't give any response besides glaring at him. It's intriguing to see how he lose his coolness under Lovia's provocation (Well done Lovia xx)
I like all of MLs a lot (well, maybe except for God). Does anybody remember that God is also ML?… I’ll post about him later on, but he’s not human and… well, does not have many human emotions. Rather interesting take on Lovia (I love him too, btw), but as I see him, he’s not as prideful or self-righteous as he may seem, and it’s all due to his background. Spoiler He’s not from the capital, but rather from the outskirts of the empire. He’s noble, but not entirely. His grandfather was rich enough (some sort of merchant, perhaps) to buy a title (it will be addressed in 3rd volume). So, in the end, Lovia’s position in the court is highly limited even before becoming a concubine. He doesn’t have any connections, he is not from the capital and he’s not from old aristocracy. Despite him being incredibly smart and skilful, the one position he could achieve is the librarian (rather low for his ability); it is also due to the fact that the empire have led only conquest wars over a long period of time, so there weren’t any changes in nobility, and only people from those old aristocratic families could be placed on the highest positions. Lovia understands this very well, and because of that he actually seeks the princess’ (and later MC) love. He achieved everything he could; he doesn’t have friends and is distant from his family (his father is dead (?), not sure about other relatives); overall, his life is meaningless and lonely. When he knew that he could be loved, he leaped at the chance to change his life. All in all, he understands the society rules perfectly, for that his quarrel with Nadricka (are we on the same level even?). When it comes to MC, Lovia will do everything for her. If his actions can help MC, he will betray his pride easily. He’s actually very sensitive when it comes to MC position in the court (remember how he argued with Leo Dipper in chapter 15?). His loyalty is only for MC, though, as he will make some decisions in 2nd volume that will help MC, but in the same time will damage the empire’s reputation. Lovia will also provoke Sieger (or Sieger him, they are on par in that). Essen doesn’t seek MC affection (Lovia and Nadricka are highly suspicious of him), and Cairos won’t interact much with other MLs. Ecklot is rather indifferent when it comes to MC harem. He accepts that she will have more than one man, and later on his only concern related to her is about whether she will accept him as her lover or not (he will be jealous, but not in the way «I want her to be mine», but rather «what if there will be no room for me?»). On the contrary, Nadricka and Lovia are not sure about their status. Nadricka thinks that he’s useless and can’t protect MC, Lovia doesn’t even have MC’s favour. Nadricka showed Ecklot that he’s favoured; Lovia showed that MC trusted him (that quarrel about Lovia’s infidelity; Lovia brought it up on the purpose and not to anger Ecklot, but rather to eliminate Ecklot’s hostile future actions towards Lovia). Later on, Ecklot and Lovia will be MC's right (action) and left (intrigues) hand respectively, and they will work together.
Those scenes are indeed hilarious. Spoiler: Sieger knows how to cook. And he has four kids (age 4-10). Background: MC wakes up 2nd time in Sieger’s home (she collapsed the day before yet another time in his arms). They’ve dealt with one of the slave traders the day before (that was epic); they also had a nasty quarrel. Spoiler: From chapter 9. Sieger, MC, and kids When I opened my eyes, it was that room from the other day. He fought with me like a dog, but he took me to his home and laid me here. As I woke up, the early morning sunlight was shining into the room. I wondered for a moment why my eyes were so blinding, then I remembered that I had pulled one curtain off. I think I should hang it again, but the door popped open. Only then, the chatter of the kids who couldn't reach their ears burst into the room. When I looked up, I saw Sieger wearing an apron standing in the doorframe. Our eyes met, and we both were silent for a moment. Siger sighed, then came in, took the thermometer out of his apron pocket, and squatted next to me. "Ah." “What are you—.” He put the thermometer in my open mouth while I was talking. “Shut up.” I shut my mouth with a shaky face. He checked my body temperature and got up without regret. “Before… … .” “Eat food.” He just went away. There was a long cry to see if the child fell outside. I heard Sieger nagging about something. I staggered and stood up. When I was told to eat, I suddenly became very hungry. As soon as I got out, the kids covered in dirt rushed to me. As the passage was narrow, I quickly raised my arms, and as everyone passed me, one of them fell into my waist. I hugged and hugged, but the boy ran away from my arms, whispering about what was so funny. It was a girl. Last time I saw it, there were only two boys. The number of children increased. He's not human bastard (sorry, I don't like him very much). He doesn't know human emotions, but he's curious about people. Before MC entered this world, she met him (and hit on him, lol). He'll appear in 2nd volume (to tell MC that her destiny is to die). He loves sticking to MC side. He'll fall in love gradually, as he sees her interactions with other MLs. In the end of 5th volume he understands that he doesn't want her to die and saves her (revives her in another body). Spoiler: And why he's bastard (MTL, so I may be wrong) He's pretty much annoying and useless (yes, I'm talking about God) up until 5th volume. He's forbidden to meddle in human's affairs, so he's just waiting for the MC-Yuriel confrontation to end. He wants MC to die in order to be with her, as she'll belong to only him. At one point of the story, there will be some hints that he wants her to be only his (and won't prevent Yuriel schemes of killing other MLs; it's not confirmed as MC will be in time to save everyone). So, even if he does know Yuriel's schemes, he doesn't inform MC of them (except for several minor ocassions). Also, he is lonely and wants to die. He doesn't care about people at all. This can be excused by his future actions (I still haven't read the 1st part of 6th volume), but he's not human and cannot be judged by human standards.
