yeah, I had the same thought. I was still willing to continue when they confirmed that she was going to be a love interest because this is a Japanese LN so nothing is actually going to happen. But then they spent an entire chapter explaining how she was part dryad and had sort of created MC instead of giving birth the normal way because she was specifically trying to create a lover for herself. I dropped it right there because the author had clearly put WAY too much thought into how to justify this love angle. but it matches what the original poster is asking for
