uh, all I ever read is wuxia and xianxia with male lead and I've yet to see a novel where they dont throw money at the girl, sometimes thats all they do. money to women in xianxia is like the bait they give you when you enter the safari zone in pokemon
To Be A Virtuous Wife seems like it if you haven't read it. It's josei and imperial family though - but no unnecessary love rivals and the mc is not overly money-grubbing, only having no qualms with it.
