As the title says, I am looking for well-written mature fantasy novels ( Not the Webnovels or the light novels,) with a lot of action, Magically based setting preferable.

It's pretty much a trilogy focused entirely on this main character that would be considered as the evil guy in any other fiction. While he isn't likeable(and the authors intention isn't to make him likeable) his PoV is pretty interesting as he is the product of his environment. The first book is fairly short and the worst one in the trilogy so if you liked it the trilogy will be amazing for you.

Arcane Ascension Series by Andrew Rowe. MC's story starts with him entering a god-created tower to earn the right to utilize magic. As the story progresses, you discover more about the world and character's, such as "Everyone's assumed bisexual by default", and "Stories about the MC's Traumatic Childhood".

He Who Fights With Monsters. MC wakes up naked, bald, and in a hedge maze shortly before blue status windows pops up in front of his face. The hedge maze is revealed to be owned by a cult of cannibals. The story of a lippy smart-arse as he adapts to a new, magical, environment. Has the single best System in any story I have ever seen, due to it both being easily explained in-universe, and fitting to the rules of the universe instead of working outside of them. Actually has character growth, and character growth that is not always positive.

Tower of Somnus. The Earth is ruled by Mega-Corporations, and when Aliens came checking if there we were suitable to join their Peaceful Galactic Civilization, the leaders of the Mega-Corporations tried to bribe them. It failed, and Humanity is currently under sanctions until we get our s**t together and mature. On the positive side, they did give humanity access to the Galactic Video Game, though they were hoping access would be widespread before the leaders of the Corporations realized that the game can essentially give super powers to those who play it. It didn't work, but that WAS the hope. MC is from an average bottom-rung poor family, but managed to gain access to the game due to luck more than anything. This is her story as she struggles both in reality and the game world, while being completely incapable of affording dying in either, even if death in the game world doesn't truly kill her.

Of course if its fantasy its Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. There's around 42 novels in that series and you could jump to any book and still understand them but preferably read in chronological order since there will be recurring characters. You could find them for free in the net if you snoop around a bit. Very hilarious, have interesting characters, profound themes and very well developed lore and myth. The setting is on a flat 'Discworld ' on the back of four elephants on the back of a giant turtle. There are various races such as trolls and dwarfs and goblins and werewolf trying to live in the same space.

In my opinion the central theme is mostly how to be a 'moral being' so you could find several characters that try their hardest to follow the law and morality even with the power they have. The Magic University for example, their most important job is not to do magic even when they are capable of it. I think these novels are great in contrast of other novels that upheld power and money as the most important goal of the characters.

The Tortall series (multiple series) by Tamora Pierce! It's all female lead characters, and a highly magical setting.
