I like some of the food of my Vietnamese culture. Some of the dishes are becoming popular such as Pho and Banh Mi.

The fact that pretty much everyone around me comes from an almost entirely different culture, and for the most part everyone is okay with it. Plus the fact that it revolves around adopting elements from our friends' cultures that are cool, tasty, or smart. Of course, my culture is mostly built up around a religious community, so even if someone were to ask me what my culture was, I probably wouldn't be able to give a straight answer.

The language, it's basically a melting pot between like 4 or 5 other languages, mainly Arabic, made learning French, English and other languages a piece of cake for me

I'm Indian and the part that I like most about my culture aside from the food is the mythology. As a Hindu, there are just so many stories about gods, demons, animals, conflicts, etc that I grew up hearing from my parents. I have fond memories of my father telling my brothers and me those stories at bedtime.

Instant pho is nasty and I can attest to that after trying some. Good pho is to be had at a pho restaurant situated in a vietnamese community for now it seems. It might improve when it becomes more mainstream and more cooks branch out. If you are good at cooking than following a recipe from youtube might work. It is all about the soup base which take hours to cook though.

    My Culture ~

My race believes a place of creation is a place of darkness
I am one of a few that are left of my race.
At the time when the earth became hot
At the time when the heavens turned about
At the time when the sun was darkened
To cause the moon to shine
    Was the beginning.
I come from a proud people.
We were wayfinders of the largest ocean in the world.
Warriors who ate our enemies to increase our spiritual powers.
People who prefer twilight to daylight.
I am descendant of Kings prophesied by shamans for centuries to shatter all ancient laws.
Kings who’s very shadow mean a death sentence to those who dare to cross it.
May my ancient guardian spirits and animals protect and guided me.

    No Hawaiian.
The first park is one of our oldest chants translated.
The rest are Hawaiian facts. Just written a little on the mysterious side.

Focus on family even though they're all a massive pain. Lots of self improvement, hard work etc.

    Piggybacking on this.

My culture is family-centric and some of my relatives get their mind blown by not having children. Or giving more care and emphasis on my pets. I made the choice for very practical reasons, but some stubborn relatives still think I'm wasting my time on animals that I really love and want to care for. I understand parenting is hard but I hate it when it is always the yardstick for 'achievement' in life. Or parents in my family gets some special treatment because their 'need' is apparently greater than mine.

I also hate the emphasis on family or group gatherings (I'm an introvert btw) and I much rather spend holidays with my pets or friends than your usual family who loves to smooch or guilt trip me into buying food since I can 'afford' it since I'm single. Like I don't have my expenses on my own and I don't contribute to the family finances.

    Rant over.

Please note that my immediate family has been the understanding sort but it is often the extended family (who gives me the things I stated above) who pulls this crap. I love my family and I will not abandon them but I think it's better for us to have spaces of our own.
