Wouldn't they just continue elsewhere? It's not like they'd have lost their particular voice or writing style. I like to imagine that they got rich overnight and realised that the way the upper class live and eat is so different from their writing that they became disillusioned and quit out of embarrassment.
She would just shoot Syosetu an email and they'd fix that. This is literally one of their novels so they'd be happy to help out. I imagine that the writer was in the upper class to begin with. Or at least that she knows first hand about the different things that she was writing about.
So it's been 3 years now, huh...Sigh, I remember when it was just a year. I personally lost hope. I still like what we have of it though, and would still recommend it to people. My guess is either the author is terminally ill or has passed away. Being rich isn't an excuse to completely ignore and not utter a single word to the community and fans of the series, and it's not just a short story that the author could forget that she/he wrote.
I am tempted to reread again and get to the domineering reika-sama part against those gal and the club presidents. But then, I realize that I'd just be disappointed cause nothing would follow even if I reread everything...
Yikes. Reread it with a passion then ~ But yeah, the author doesnt want her stories "published" into manga/light novel.
Sigh. I think about this novel every once in a while and it's really a shame that this novel's on hiatus T-T I really love this novel and I'd love to see this completed huhu. Even though it's very unlikely, I still hope that the author will miraculously come back one day and finally update TvT
Would like to elaborate more on that ? In last two years I have read all 4 out of 5 ,currently on ADWD( A dance with dragons),and I don't see any "big" quality drop.
Or went to school or cram school with someone who came from old money. Old money is used to wealth and doesn't necessarily need to flaunt it. If you like the secondary and tertiary characters, then book 4 is fine. On the other hand, I wanted more development on the primary characters and their storylines. In his afterward, Martin admitted that these were noted that he did not originally intend to publish. Since I wanted tighter writing and plotting, I walked away after book 4.
2022 is 6 months in... Hmm, 5 years now? Reika Sama, a giant orange ruled America, Elon Musk restarted the space race, global warming is taken more seriously, a pandemic changed the world, a kpop group is dominating the charts, gender roles have changed, and you would be in your early twenties...sigh see you in another 5 years....
Well, you'll live long anyway I'm sure, it won't hurt to wait for like another 20 years? surely the author will revisit his work and give an update. Be optimistic. Think of it as a looong war that you don't know when it will end, but you know it has to end someday.
Kikuno-chan... Serika-chan... Even Fuyuko-san... It's like they're all still here. You feel it too, don't you?
I have already accepted the fact that the author is probably dead and have moved on. Sigh... why is it always the good stories that never get finished?
I have rarely seen a PFP and user name so remarkably at odds with the content of the post. But you're right. The world is a grayer and darker place and we are all diminished somewhat by the lack of Reika-sama. The theory I've seen (and I have no idea what evidence is available, just that it apparently originated in the Japanese side of the internet) is that the author is from a somewhat wealthy background and stopped under family pressure. No idea whether it is true or not (I actually have my doubts), but that's the rumor that went around. I just wish them well, and hope Reika's unknown continuation had a happy ending.
