    The Rank 4 patch is live! \(^^)/

    We now have Rank 4 monsters and items in the spreadsheets~

    So, first things first, let's announce the theme of R4, which is... Christmas! Congratulations to @A5G_Reaper for being the one to suggest the theme for it! A bit crazy that the final suggestion came from a non-player... >.>

    As to why I chose Christmas... In all honesty, I wanted a really wacky theme for R4. In R3 we're fighting gods, so I was pretty sure I couldn't top that in R4, like... Geez, they're gods after all.

    So... No matter what I chose, I was sure that it would end up feeling a bit weird, like... "Why are we having a hard time fighting X mob after killing gods of all things? Shouldn't the gods be at a higher rank?" and stuff like that.

    To kinda break this feeling of incongruence, I wanted something wacky for R4. It won't solve this "problem", but I figured the weirdness of the rank by itself would make it less egregious.

    And well, when I heard a suggestion of Christmas for R4, it just kinda felt like a glove for what I wanted... Add that to the fact we are in Christmas Season already, and I felt like it had to be it~

    So that's why this is the theme for R4. On R5 onwards I might choose more normal things, but I really needed R4 as a wacky thing, I hope you all enjoy the theme~


    In addition to that, there were some other changes that I made along the way, let's go over them now~
    1. Monsters became stronger from R3 onwards. The reasoning behind that is mainly that I feel like everyone is handling the game pretty well so far, so I think I can push things a bit further.
      At the same time, I don't want to overbuff things and make the game too hard either, so... What I did was to instead make monster progression slightly bigger every 3 ranks, which should make the game slightly more challenging as it goes on~
      Also, I added big progression jumps to R9, because it's the final rank, so I figured it could be a bit hellish~
    2. Blacksmith Bow was changed from ATK/AGI to ATK/WIS. The reasoning behind this change is mainly the Ranged Formula change from a few patches back. I didn't change it at the time because I didn't want to kill the physical ranged build, but... After looking at the database and seeing a grand total of 0 physical builds using Ranged, I figured that this change was fine.
      With this the Blacksmith Bow will hopefully look like an interesting option for Magical Builds instead of a basically useless Bow.
    3. Mimics became considerably tougher. In particular, they became as strong as what a Lv 9 monster of 1 rank above would look like (disconsidering the buffed progression from R3 onwards)... The reasoning behind this is that Mimics felt a bit too weak to me. I wanted them to feel like real threats, hence the change.
    Those are the 3 main changes, there were also a couple of more minor changes, but I'll just throw them together with the detailed breakdown of everything that changed due to the Monster R3+ buff patch.

    Monster Changes:
    • R3-R5:
      • Normal Mobs gain +10 HP per monster tier, as opposed to +8 on R0-2.
      • Normal Mobs gain +14 stats per monster tier, as opposed to +12 on R0-2.
      • Bosses gain +15 MP per rank (The Boss HP formula relies on their MP, so this is essentially a buff to boss HP growth), as opposed to +10 on R0-2.
      • Bosses gain +22 more stats than the Level 9 mob, as opposed to +20 on R0-2.
      • Super Bosses gain +12 more stats than the bosses, as opposed to +10 on R0-2.
      • Traps gain +4 difficulty per rank, as opposed to +3 on R0-2.
    • R6-R8:
      • Normal Mobs gains 12 HP per monster tier.
      • Normal Mobs gains 16 stats per monster tier.
      • Bosses gain +20 MP per rank.
      • Bosses gain +25 stats than lv 9 mob.
      • Super Bosses gain +15 stats than a boss.
      • Traps gain +5 difficulty per rank.
    • R9:
      • Normal Mobs gains 28 HP per monster tier.
      • Normal Mobs gains 36 stats per monster tier.
      • Normal Mobs gain +1 skill.
      • Bosses gain +50 MP per rank.
      • Bosses gain +56 stats than lv 9 mob.
      • Super Bosses gain +105 stats than a boss.
      • Traps gain +12 difficulty per rank.
    Specific Mob Changes:
    • R0:
      • Vine Witch:
        • Changed Party/Reinforcement AI to finally make it work the way it was supposed to work.
    • R1:
      • Light-Dark Spirit:
        • MP Costs reduced
        • Reinforcement Numbers increased
        • Skill Scaling Increased
        • Passive Changed from MP recovery to a buff to other Light and Dark Spirits.
      • Omni Spirit:
        • Party and Reinforcements now have an actual AI.
        • Lord of All now buffs HP/MP in addition to the rest of the stats.
    • R2:
      • Chimera:
        • Snake Bite now targets the enemy with lowest WIS.
    Miscellaneous Changes:
    • Mobs that inflicted Damage Over Time Effects:
      • Changed the description of some skills to use the Burning Keyword instead of writing out that it deals damage per turn in order to make it clearer.
    • All mobs:
      • Added two lines to all monster sheets, one that says "Stat Sum" and one that says "Current Sum".
        • Stat Sum:
          • How much should the total amount of stats that the mob should have.
        • Current Sum:
          • How much their current stats are adding up to... For any mob that is already done, this should be the exact same as Stat Sum.
        • What's the purpose of this:
          • For you? None. But it actually makes my life easier when designing mobs, since I previously had to keep checking a separate spreadsheet for their stats and then add them up on my head to see if they had the right sum... Now it's much easier.
        • Did anything change?
          • Some mobs actually had the wrong sum because I added them up wrongly. I fixed that once I noticed the errors. All changes were minor and I didn't really keep track of them, so I can't really tell you which mobs were changed from this.
    • Chest Drop Sheet:
      • Changed the formula that showed what were the possible drops for the chest in order to make it easier to copy paste... This is absolutely pointless for you to know, but I wanted to say it somewhere anyways.
    • Apothecary:
      • Changed the Wording of Powders and Ointments to make them occupy less space. Effect is still the exact same.
    • Crafter:
      • Some items were repositioned in order to make it easier to view things and to make it much easier to copy paste things throughout ranks.
    • Blacksmith and Crafter:
      • Changed the spacing in the "Equips At" column to make it more easily readable.

    Here is what you can expect from the next Skill Patch:
    • T7-T9 skills.
    • Reduction of MP costs of some Single Target Skills.
    • Increase of MP Cost of a handful (I think only 1 actually) of skills that I missed in the last MP Cost streamlining patch.
    • Buffs to some suboptimal skills.
    • Complete rewrite of one skill I hate.

    New small and straight-forward patch:

    Monster behavior on dungeons was changed:
    • Previously:
      • Monsters do whatever you want them to do.
    • Now:
      • Monsters Sneak Attack if able;
      • If they can't, they will now use their skills.
      • If they can't use their skills (either because they lack the MP or because they have some activation condition that isn't live), then they should attack.
    This should make monsters a bit more predictable and a bit more deadly as well~
    Hopefully that is fun~

    PS: Monsters still follow their AI during Boss Fights. The AI bypasses the above ruling changes.

    New patch!

    Job Change is now free for everyone, you can do it as many times as you want for as long as you aren't in a dungeon run.

    The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you'll lose all your crafting exp if you change jobs~

    I don't like getting rid of the money sinks much, but people seem to be trying to fill in the gaps of jobs currently available in the game, and there seems to be no reason for me to get in their way, hence why I'm making it free for now on~

    Alright, new patch is live! Lots of changes this time around, so let's go over them!
    • Monster Behavior Patch was partially rolled back: Remember the patch I did a few days ago that forced mobs to always use their skills? Yeah... That reduces a bit too much DM freedom, and it was troubling me.
      So here is the new way this works... On runs without bosses, your mobs can do whatever you want.
      On runs with bosses, your mobs should always use: Sneak Attack>Skills>Attack.
      On Boss Rooms your mobs should follow the AI listed in the boss' sheet.
      So, basically, monsters are deadlier if there is a boss in the dungeon. Consider it as if they're more organized because they have a leader or whatever.
    • Triple Madness Hard Mode was changed: Previously this had some convoluted rulings to allow you to put 3 bosses in one room... Now it's more straight-forward. If you were to enter a boss room (except Super Bosses), the other two bosses of that rank are summoned to help the boss you're fighting. This also includes their Starting Party members, and then the reinforcements of the summoned bosses will also come as summons.
      The summoned bosses will drop their essences btw, but they won't drop anything else.
    • Bosses per run limit was lifted: I dunno why this limit even existed in all honesty, but it now no longer exists. You can put as many bosses as you want in your dungeon. This also comes with a couple of changes:
      • "Kill The Boss" objective was changed to "Kill A Boss." You can only pick this objective once per run.
      • You need to list all bosses your dungeon has at the start of the run.
    • Mysterious Vines got a slight buff: They were kinda weak, weren't they? Bind is now an AoE Ranged Attack that deals -2 damage. It's still only 2 dmg per bind, but it can be more when you take their passive into account, so hopefully they're a bit more meaningful now.
    And now for the main part of the announcement... The Skill Trees are finished! You can now see them all the way to the T9 skills! \(^^)/

    It's worth note that the T9 skills can only be learned if you have max level on both of the T8 skills btw. You can't reach them with only one of the T8 skills.

    And well... There is also a huge Skill Balance Patch that came with it... Let's get on it~

    • Cold Spirit:
      • Cold Breath now reduces 1 more ATK/INT.
    • Thunder Spirit:
      • Lightning Strike:
        • Previously: Costed 24 MP.
        • Now: Costs 16 MP.
      • Incoming Storm:
        • Previously: Recovered 12 MP whenever a Wind Spirit died.
        • Now: Summons a Wind Spirit at the end of the first turn of the battle. Recovers 12 MP whenever a Wind Spirit dies.

      • Was redone in most aspects and is basically a completely different boss fight now.

    2 small changes in this patch:
    • Triple Madness Hard Mode now makes the summoned bosses give all their drops instead of only essences. I figured it was okay to give this freebie if you actually managed to beat 3 bosses together~
    • Scroll Crafting got a small Quality of Life change.
      • Basically, now rather than you crafting a scroll of a skill you own, you now just create a Refined Tier X Scroll... And then you can imbue any Tier X skill you want into the Refined Scroll, regardless of you owning it or not.
        Now you won't need to ask other people to craft scrolls for you, and there won't be the danger of them crafting more than you need in case they get too many 0 rolls, making you having some leftover scrolls you have no use for.

    Alright, new patch is live, there are a handful of changes to mobs, a few changes to some skills of Off Mag and Def Mag, and a ton of changes for Def Phys~

    Let's get right into it~

    Monster Changes:
    • R0 mobs:
      • Vine Witch:
        • Her spell is now always the last action of the turn.
    • R1 Mobs:
      • Wind Spirit:
        • -4 ATK
        • +4 AGI
      • Thunder Spirit:
        • Incoming Storm:
          • Previously:
            • Summons a Wind Spirit and recovers 12 MP when a Wind Spirit dies.
          • Now:
            • Recovers 8 MP at the end of each turn.
      • Omni Spirit::
        • -12 INT
        • +7 DEF
        • +5 WIS
    • R2 mobs:
      • Hydra:
        • HP Regen now scales with the number of players in the party.
      • Dragon:
        • Stats now scale with the number of players in the party.

        • Doesn't cost an action.
    • Frostbite: Buffed.
      • Previously:
        • Reduces ATK
      • Now:
        • Reduces ATK/INT
    • Heal: Buffed.
      • Now doesn't cost an action.
    • Darkness Bolt: Buffed.
      • Previoulsy:
        • Sets Current and Max DEF to 0.
      • Now:
        • Sets Current DEF to 25% of Max DEF.

    New patch is live, everyone~

    I dunno if I'll make more after this, it will depend if we can get some activity back... Either way, this was already in the works, so I figured I'd at least finish it.

    This one has some mob changes here and there and more skill tree changes.

    The mob changes are there to essentially make things a bit easier for smaller parties to beat bosses... And one of the changes is there to make DM lives easier when hosting the Great Stone Boar.

    Skill changes are as usual. Mostly buffs, with some nerfs and reworks here and there... Let's get on to it~

    • Great Stone Boar:
      • Fury: renamed to Herd Fury:
        • Previously:
          • Same as Fury
        • Now:
          • Herd Fury works the same as Fury for the Great Stone Boar... In addition to that, it also gives the normal Stone Boars the same stat buff as the Great Stone Boar got, while also nullifying their own Fury passives. Essentially making the DM only needing to track the Fury in the GSB, and then apply the same value to everyone else, which should hopefully make that fight less of a pain.
