I don't know if this has been suggested. If a novel is in one of your reading lists that is set to manual, the only way to update the progress is to go to that list and change it. I would like to be able to update the reading progress on the novel title page itself instead of going to list page.
There is an option where your list novels get listed separately in the NU title page. I generally work around by clicking on the ckeckbox before reading the chapter. This works for series that get updated, at least.
I also look forward to this change. Maybe I’ll read the novel again a few days later. Before that I could not find the place where I had finished reading and I was troubled countless times.
