After Felicia is poisoned by her sister he starts teaching her about herbs to protect so as to herself. As Felicia leaves the palace to meet him.she meets Claude who recognises her but she thinks he doesn't because she is not wearing a veil.There is a parade that day but he hasn't told her about it because there is a plan to assassinate the saintess and blame Felicia for it.He follows her to Darren's house.Felicia tells Darren that she has been living on herbs and water and he is worried she is going to eat poisonous weeds too. She tells him that she will break off the engagement and rent a house and live alone.
Claude enters to see them hugging and attacks Darren Felicia stops him.He is angry to hear Felicia introduce Darren as family.Claude is posing like an escort knight of the Saint and introduced himself as Elvis.Felicia introduces herself as Emma. Apparently second names are sacred in their country and only used by lovers.After that whenever Felicia visits Darren he drops in uninvited.She visits every three days,and she finally gets food at Darren's

Finally Felicia wants out of the the engagement She asks Lyra to inform the prince on the day of their dinner much to Rebecca's happiness. Rebecca is her other maid who is a fan of the saintess. She goes to dinner where Sarah is also present.She is unhappy to be here with these two happily talking Infront of her without honorifics (idiot prince talks very formally with her) but suddenly Claude turns the conversation onto her and has the audacity to be angry about her wanting to break-off the engagement
( He hasn't cleared off any rumours yet and just brought her into a room with his supposed mistress where they are acting as if she doesn't exist....)

He stops the conversation for them to have desert. Felicia ends up getting poisoned but she stops Sarah and Idiot prince(why?!Why?!WHY?!) before they can eat the desert.But of course Frederick thinks evil Felicia is attacking the saintess before Felicia faints.Rebecca and the taster for the food were responsible for the posioning.They wanted to help the Saintess.Sarah is shocked. Idiot prince is being all murderous towards the servants who have harassed her. Frederick apologises for his behaviour but Idiot Prince says he will be punished later. Because of course idiot prince is blameless in this whole storyHe has all the moral high ground here.
Felicia wakes up. She realise that Idiot Prince will probably kill the servants so she tells him to handover their punishment to her. Then Idiot Prince kisses her and leaves.

The servants apologise and Lyra tells her the truth.Felicia is extremely angry, as she should be, when she comes to know that the prince just let her be harassed and about those insulting weekly dinners.
The saint Irene festival comes up next. That day all women include the saintess were masks as that day they belong to God.If any man wants to propose to the girl he loves he has to identify her,say her name and offer her a flower. If he says the wrong name, they can't marry.Felicia tells all the servants to wear the same mask as her and to stop the prince. Other girls In the country who want to be crown Princess also wear the same mask.When Felicia asks the Idiot Prince for permission to participate in the fest, he readily agrees. If it wasn't clue enough, Lyra and the other servants have already told him the plan. So of course after she has danced with a few people including Frederick who apologises to her, Idiot Prince drops infront of her again. She finds out that he was Elvis and is angry that he was always pretending with her.Claude says that he knows she is angry but to please not doubt him. And That's it. Thats the great apology. Even a single sorry would have more weight then what he said...
Then Idiot prince says that he will fulfill her wishes and turns to leave and of course Felicia stops him because she is now in 'Love'.He proposes and she realises it was all an act.He reveals that he knew she was being harassed and he didn't help her because he wanted her to rely on him. Halfway reading the spoilers (when I was still ok with ML), it got me thinking... He's been in love with her ever since his puberty. He's aware of the abuse she's going through at her old home and basically uses the engagement to send her to his kingdom. So far so good? Well... after reading the spoilers, how is it possible for a man who apparently thought he'd be useless (well, lets not kid ourselves after reading that clusterf*ck of a spoiler, he's much worse than a useless bum) to protect the woman he loves since he comes from a small kingdom, but later on staged OTHER harassments towards her BECAUSE he wanted her to lean on him. I... don't know HOW or WHAT kind of mental gymnastics you have to go that far? Excuse you? The woman is a victim of abuse? She did not lean on someone before, she wouldn't lean on someone the second time. Shouldn't you be the one taking initiative? I practically hate everyone here save for Darren, MC, and to a minor extent (more of an annoyance) the saintess. He should've fired those servants upon knowing MCs circumstances. What is this? A Rose Devoted To You? Servants bullying their madam just because their ship wasn't canon? Are you all retards?!

These servants are retards who thinks they're highly valued just cuz the person they're serving was treated well, despite the person paying their wages was someone else. I know we can't have "Duchess of the Attic" treatment to rude servants (and by extension, additionally for Kr series, DitoEFftV, PTMA, and even the comedic TSLoaRL on how they dealt with servant abuse), but since I brought this topic along, I'm kinda curious, comparing the characters of the story. Which... is technically better? (Honestly, I've read only the spoilers here and Rose's ML I've already forgotten his name. Lol. Guess I'll separate them as Duke and CP?)
MCs= other than this series ending falling for the ML in the end DESPITE knowing what he did, at least she was ready to divorce. At least 75% of the spoilers except the ending, I love MCs drive to live. Although this might be an unpopular opinion
ML=Rose's ML. Was at least semi-unaware of the abuse of his household (I mean, given that MC ruined his house's rep with scandals in order to divorce him, its understandable a few servants might hate her.) Edit: Oh, he also did something to abusive father-in-law
Shipping target/3rd wheel= actually a tie but might lean on Rose's cousin for me
The 3rd wheel's affection target=Rose's butler dude for me. Last I remember on the manga, guy was unaware of the level of abuse MC went through with her father. Idiot prince is being all murderous towards the servants who have harassed her. Frederick apologises for his behaviour but Idiot Prince says he will be punished later. Because of course idiot prince is blameless in this whole storyHe has all the moral high ground here.

The novel got so much potential but in the end, the author decided to end with a manipulative, idiot and douchebag garbage guy, just like a typical stories from chinese, Japanese and Korean authors. Such a waste of time reading such thing. They make women seem so weak who only know how to follow their stupid emotions without using such logics. Thank you for the spoiler. I don't have to read this whole trash, thou I like the art.

I'm speechless about how she can forgive this douche! Not even an apology or maybe regret about how she was treated in his castle. He new how she has lived until now but let lowly servant acted as they were the master... He watched her being abused on the side like he was on a play and every so and then, pitied her and tossed her something to eat like a master feeding his pet. Sorry, I can't! It was a good start but the ENDING.... It's a big No-no.
