Does anyone have any really good immersive show recommendations that make you forget about your life while watching it lol. I usually like to watch “feel-good” light family sitcoms like Modern family, Bob’s burgers, and etc. Any recommendations are welcome but I cannot tolerate sad endings or really, really sad arcs cause I’m not tryna be more sad than I already am HAHA
Well if you looking for something funny Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House Of Fun. It's more of a sketch show then a sitcom though.
Fleabag Quirky. Funny. One of a kind. Though not everyone's cup of tea. Give it a try. You'll immediately know if it's your thing or not.
Well if you're fine with Chinese when I watched "story of minglan " I couldn't stop till I finished it , it's light slice of life And I'm quite enjoying this new drama "legend of Fei" but it's still ongoing and I don't know if it will have sad arcs or ending
The Nanny, The office I know you asked for a show but in the spirit of holidays, I also recommend It happened one night
To get the mood, I play music (reason; you can loop it x200+ without bored, seriously) or youtube all new videos without care (there're always new things, so you don't need to rewatch the same videos) and sometime games As show, I doubt it could work (at least after I watched it, I don't bother watching it again) I like superheroes series e.g. The Flash (also I don't bother re-watch) Isekai or others anime (cuz they tend to do a slice of life that friendly with the mood and many anime with this genre now, so again no need rewatch the same stuff, just the new series)
the Chinese live action version of Hikaru No Go maybe? its got its emotional moments but over all its one of the better live action adaptation dramas this year.
This is really random but miraculous, ive been watching it since i was little and im really invested in the love square lol
Sorry to ask something a year later, but I was curious. Did the drama keep the tension/friendship between the two male leads (Hikaru and Akira)? How faithful are they to the manga? Now I feel like watching the anime again...
the drama was localized and incorporated Chinese elements, i.e. Sai was wearing ancient Chinese clothes and the Japanese names were changed to Chinese, but the manga author was involved in reworking the story and she approved the finished drama before it was submitted for review. it stayed pretty true to the original story, though Hikaru's hair was not two-toned like the manga/anime and the younger Hikaru actually acted like a little kid (which he was at the time he first met Sai) I was worried in the first episode but ended up really liking it. and yes, the rival/friend relationship with Akira was definitely there. the two actors had good chemistry.
Leverage was very nice, though Tim Hutton is a creep. I was pleasantly surprised recently by Loki and by an older show... Into the Badlands.
Make me forget about my life and immersed in it? The iconic "Friends" show (1994), Umbrella Academy, Loki, and Running Man (Korean TV Show)
