However, the emperor's movements are unusual... --- Male Lead: Kaliat, Tyrant Emperor who killed his whole family to gain the throne. It's said that anybody who tried to hang off his arm to get his affection gets killed. Female Lead: Yilan, a 1st Division Knights of the Empire. She's a commoner who managed to become a knight solely due to her talents. She is more skilled than her seniors but chooses to hide that fact because she doesn't want to attract trouble for herself. Second Male Lead: Leonhardt, the commanding officer of the 1st Division Knights of the Empire. He's had a crush on the FL for a long time. He's not 100% loyal to the Emperor. Spoiler: Chapter 1 Yilan was dragged to the festival by her seniors but managed to escape from their drunk antics. FL was going to go home but decided to stay at the festival because she was unlikely to come back. She got drunk, started dancing with others and then noticed the brooding Kaliat who was staring at her. FL pulls ML into a dance and eventually they end up having a hot night together. She wakes up the next morning and sees him. She remembers everything. FL doesn't actually know who she spent the night with but realized that he had this gem (?) called Amilante around his neck. It's a rare treasure owned by the royal family that made it difficult to notice the person's face. With that, she realizes that she spent the night with the ML. She collects her shit, checks for shadow knights and skips out. The next part finds her going to work and when FL is about to get her ear talked off by her senior who brought her out to the festival, Leonhardt makes an appearance and stops him. We learn a little bit about Leonhardt in that there were rumors that his skills didn't quite match his position as commanding officer of the 1st Division but a bit of roughhousing proved that he was competent. That's where chapter 1 ends. Do you guys want to know the kid's name and what he/she looks like?
So, surprise there are 2 kids! There's a boy and a girl. Spoiler: Boy Name is Enril (엔릴). So far, he has a milder, quieter temperament. Pretty mature. He has pink hair and gold eyes. Spoiler: Girl Name is Lian (리안). That's how I translated it but I also got Ryan or Rian, but it sounds more like Lian in Korean. She has black-hair and blue eyes. Her personality is more bright and cheerful than her brothers. She's also just, more of a spunky, take charge kind of kid imo.
I tried to divide this up by where I felt the story naturally allowed for it because I honestly have no idea where the KakaoPage chapters ends or begins because I got the book from Ridibooks. Also, I haven't finished translating the first volume yet so I'll update as I go. Or if someone beats me to it, that's okay too. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.1 (cont'd) FL and Leonhardt are responsible for escorting the ML for the day. She supposes that because she's the youngest knight that she gets paired with Leonhardt to escort ML. She's nervous to see the ML because she's worried that he'll recognize her even though she wore makeup and a wig that she didn't normally wear. The Emperor is being served breakfast and is also doing some work. She's trying her hardest to not remember anything but the night that they spent together just keeps playing in her head. ML asks Leonhardt and FL if they enjoyed the festival which was abnormal for him to do. Leonhardt answers then ML asks FL directly. FL says she didn't participate. Then ML asks what FL thinks about men and women spending the night together. She's thinking he knows but she's not sure so she vaguely answers that true love comes from the heart and that she's happy to hold hands before marriage (not a euphemism). They stop there and the ML continues having breakfast. FL was so nervous she doesn't even remember the day. Leonhardt asks her if she's okay and she says she is. She's just glad that she didn't get caught. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.2 A month has passed and she realized that she hadn't had her period. On a side note, she realizes that the shadow knights are acting differently than usual and thinks they're looking for her and brushes it off as the Emperor just giving extreme jobs. She goes to a back alley, almost gets harrassed when she asks where a physician is, she shows them whose boss and then they take her too one. The guy has a sparse beard. He asks her some questions and deduces that she's pregnant. FLcontemplates killing the physician afterwards because at the moment only the two of them know. He says there's patient confidentiality and writes a magic contract with her that says if he breathes a word about her information, he'll get hurt (not sure to what degree, I don't think death). They sign it but FL was also contemplating aborting the child and maintaining her normal life. But she remembered that she was abandoned and was an orphan and decided to think some more. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.3 It's been about 2 months since the festival. FL is starting to experience morning sickness. Bread, fish, and meat set her off. Her body is wasting away a bit because she can't keep anything down and Leonhardt is worried about the state of her body. He offers to get her treated by his family physician but she doesn't want to get caught so she refuses. They then go on to attend a morning meeting for the knights where Leonhardt brings up that the Emperor is worried about the Knights (read: Ilan) condition and that the ML told Leonhardt to adjust the training and improve their diet (Leonhardt is responsible for organizing the meals) and that they would provide medical care for those who aren't feeling well. FL is wondering why the ML is doing a favor like this. After the meeting, Leonhardt and Ilan are supposed to escort the Emperor. On their way there, they hear gossip that the ML is looking for a woman he spent a night with during the festival. Ilan thinks that this was rumor was intentional on the ML's part because if he wanted to keep it a secret, he could. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.4 Leonhardt and Ilan make it to the Emperor's palace and go in as he was surveying some documents. ML makes a comment that Leonhardt isn't doing his job seeing that FL was out of breath. The Emperor starts to have breakfast and Ilan is worried about if she's going to vomit because of the smells making her nauseous. When the ML is served a citrus pudding for dessert, it made her mouth water and she got her appetite back. Because she can't have the dessert, she decides that after work that she was going to buy some citrus. But standing there didn't do her much good and the world starts to spin (probably because she hadn't eaten in a while). FL ends up collapsing (not fainting out right) and lands on the Emperor. She's worried that he's going to chop her up, Leonhardt is trying to make excuses. Then her stomach rumbles and she's embarrassed. She starts to begin for forgiveness but then the ML asks if Leonhardt starves the knights. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.5 Ilan denied that Leonhardt was starving them but the Emperor makes Leonhardt to leave. He asks why her stomach was rumbling. She makes an excuse that she was feeling heavy recently so she tried to eat lightly to lose weight. He finds it incredulous then tells her to sit down and calls the maids to bring in food. It's a lot of really nice food but Ilan's stomach upset at the sight of it. FL is really trying not to throw up and the Emperor isn't backing down. She tries to drink a soup but it has clams (seafood). She feels her stomach both cheering and revolting at the food. As she tries to have more of the soup, she begins to feel like she's losing her loyalty and contemplates becoming the first knight to attempt to harm the emperor because of morning sickness. Just when she felt like she was at her wits end, ML calls Leonhardt back in and admonishes him for poor management. Leonhardt apologizes and sees Ilan's condition and becomes more serious (idk if that's even possible) and says that will be punished because he of how sick Ilan is. Ilan says that it was the Emperor who deserved punishment. ML says that he will take FL as his escort for a while, she thinks it's torture. Leonhardt leaves and ML continues to force FL to eat. She tries eating a piece of bread and washing it down with water but it was a mistake. As she tries to not vomit, ML puts more food in front of her but it triggers her to run to the closest bathroom. The Emperor's toilet. Spoiler: Vol. 1 Part 1.6 FL throws up and the smell makes her do it again. She realizes where she was and sees no way out of the really secure bathroom. FL thinks that the ML is going to kill her so she wants to run. She tries to brace herself for possible backlash and plans to apologize. ML is frowning and told her to come to him. She does and then lays on the floor and begs for forgiveness. FL is resolved not to get up until she's forgiven but ML tells her forcefully to get up. When she does, he says to call the royal physician. She thinks that her pregnancy is about to get exposed. FL decides that if it happens, she'll say it's someone else's child because she hadn't been found to be the ML's overnight partner yet. Problem is that the only men she knew were from her squadron. Physician comes, and FL realizes that it's the same back-alley physician but now he was clean shaven. He does a checkup on her. He says that she probably ate something that will go bad soon. FL was told to take some medicine that the physician will prepare and rest. She realizes that the physician hid her pregnancy for her. Emperor calls for more food but instead of luxurious food, she got watery soup and soft pudding that was able to get down. ML makes a comment that she's eating well, FL is trying to avoid eye contact and recalls their night together. She thinks that he's a beautiful man and remembers that he graced her with a pure smile and kissed her on the top of her head. I hope the content isn't too boring for you guys. Nice that it actually Goes through the Pregnancy and issues during it. 99% of the time is oh no I'm Pregnant = time skip to the kid being 5nd mom on the run from dad.
I think he knows that MC was the woman he slept with. And the question he asked about the festival maybe from the MC reply he's misunderstanding that she loves him!?
