Since you are new to it, you might as well read the more famous and well known stories like:
    I Shall Seal the Heavens
    Martial World
    Wu Dong Qian Qun
    Coiling Dragon
    Breaking Through the Heavens

Coiling Dragon and Breaking Through the Heavens were two of the novels that kinda kicked off the Cultivation rage years ago so they are excellent novels to start with.

Personally, I would definitely have to say Coiling Dragon is the way to go. It is very well written, has a definite and satisfying ending so it doesn't drag on (no pun intended), and overall is a very enjoyable read. Secondarily, and while it is not a standard cultivation system Doulou Dalu is also a very good read.

Completly off in a sense, but once you got the hang of the genre, I'd recommend reading "World of Cultivation"

Reading that before getting uses to the whole genre could be tough (it was the first one I read back in the day, it was a nigthmare of sorts getting my head around the names, realms, energies, powers...)

Once you get to the point where you see the repetitiv patterns and the writing for the sake of wordcount, the formentioned novel is just plain awesome!

The intro, worldbuilding, the plot, the whole feeling - even the ending didn't come as rushed and was kind of fullfilling, something many cultivation novels sadly fail to deliver.

So, enough fanboy recommendations for the future from me - gonna go see myself out :D

    Stellar Transformations
Once upon a time there was a Spirit Blade Mountain
A record of mortal's journey to immortality + Immortal World Chapter
    Way of Choices
    Reverend Insanity

and thus you can end your career of cultivation by reading all the g.o.a.t. stuff out there,

This one got to agree. But I have heard that "World of Cultivation wasn't a great novel. It had some rushed ending or something like that.
Sorry I don't mean anything wrong. Just wanted a opinion as I haven't read it and wanted to ask it is a good read?

Ya in any Xinxia, Xunhuan novel understanding the concept just appeared to bizarre at the start. I started with Talisman Emperor and Nine Star Hegemony Body Art and I didn't get to understand half the terms.

But I think initially all the novels start out same. The more you read the same genre the more you grasp on the common Cultivation Realms and the the other things a character imbues in his journey. But being a first time reader. Would recommend to read a novel which matches your interests and try it out.( I personally just looked at the tags and started reading the novel)

But is Stellar Transformation really a good start for a beginner??

I mean the terms and realms are really confusing if you haven't read cultivation novels.
Ya but A Record Of A Mortal's Journey is good too.

    Worked for me
iirc I went MGA->ST and MGA was only at like 300ish back then, so ST was first full novel and was easy.

Hell that list is pretty much is in order of complexity of those series. ST is by far the easiest there.
    on scale of 1-10
ST is 3 (Body and Cultivation normal, with only Qin Ye ending parts being lil complex)
SPB is 5 ( East Body, East Cultivation, West Professions , West Bloodlines)
RMJI is 6 (Multilude of Body and normal cultivations, devil dao, monster bloodlines, clones etc)
    WOC is 9
    RI is 11

Seeking The Flying Sword Path ( like other IET recs, this is also fairly straightforward at start)
Archean Eon Art ( simple and to the point, body, energy and soul cultivation paths. Beginner stages(before Godfiend) are irrelevant storywise. Also IET).
    Desolate Era

As these 3 are better in IET collection, you may wish to start with Coiling Dragon and Stellar Transformation before. He also has one where immortals and their cultivation is melded and devlops alongsode sci fi world in Swalloved Star.

What else is simple. Well, a lot are. Thing is, an old hand at reading this genre might get tired of cliches inherent they can no longer tolerate something poorly written. So read the excellent stuff later or you might not be able to get to something written with less quality due to rushing.

So stuff like Cradle Series by Will Wight is for later.
