Can you say what point in the story is that? Like, what happened in the most recent chapters?

The elves have attacked the mansion where the vampire kid is. Kumo has killed them off.

Also, is it better to continue or start the novel from the beginning?

Chapter 151 is when Kumo gets outside the labyrinth, so above that? But I would really recomend you to read it from the start.

Up to how far I read the manga (what was it, chapter 42 maybe?) it covered everything pretty well I believe.
Also the main story basically begins after she leaves the labyrinth so it's ok to continue the novel where the manga left off. Everything before that is just fighting and leveling and some foreshadowing. Interesting to read, but can be summarized without losing any of its plot.

Well, the manga is really good, but I have read the novel from the beginning even so. Kuro reactions are just great, and the translation is good too. You also get more usual to the novels' mood :blobmelt:

So all these reactions are kind of off. You're at the point of the story where there are some major divergences with the webnovel. To be honest, you've already passed a few. The webnovel is not very cohesive with the manga/light novel story.

Read the LN. The manga is past the part the story (LN) starts to diverge from the WN, for the better, in the WN she has not meet loli-Grandma err the Demon King yet (they meet around ch 170 or so) when she meets Sophia (ch 160), plus there are changes like the manga does not have the side stories (Shun has like 23 ss chapters up to that point) and IIRC there was no elves abduction attempt in the WN.
