If you're scared of speed, definitely don't work in the fast food industry lol. Since English is not my native language, I don't know the word for this part-time job I had... I worked at a sort of storage facility for a sports brand where I picked up a bunch of paper - each sheet would have a printed list of items from an online order. I'd go around the facility and pick them up, put them in a cart and leave them for the other personal. Then the items get picked from the cart and put into a carton box and sealed, then it gets processed, gets a sticker on it and sent for shipping. Easy peasy. Speed wasn't an issue as long as you set goals for yourself. They do pay you to work not slack lol. It's the part-time I miss the most tbh. I had my head in the clouds all the time, got a workout, and got paid in the end. It wasn't at all stressful.

you're kinda straight forward but you're right.

I'm actually interested of writing but since it doesn't really make money so I was planning to make it just a hobby in the future when I have my life put together.

If I would write, I want to do a proper research and make a well constructed world. I'm not a very descriptive person so I think it requires me to put more efforts compared to others.
Right now, I don't have the time and the right commitment to do that.

Keep in mind that highschool doesn't actually matter I guess? You graduated so that's really all any employer will care about. If you can't find a job, do some volunteer work to get some experience on your belt to pad your resume, and then look for some job that doesn't kill your soul while also avoiding jobs that involve interacting with customers. As for friends, just worry about making acquaintances I guess? No need to actually trust people in life really unless you emotionally need some sort of connection. Also maybe look into trying out various hobbies to see if there's anything you want to work to fund.

Edit: make sure whatever hobby you find energizes you rather than tires you out completely. You should be looking for something to balance out your work.

Then, would you like to try a journalism job? You can gain experience for your story. If not, you could be a youtuber and document your travels. You could make your own blogs and get ad revenues.

What kind of experience or genre do you plan to write?
    School life, history, adventure, ...
What is your writing style? Do you write in one go, then edit? Do you need to world build before you write? Do you do a chunk, perfect it, then move to the next chunk, and then go back if needed to?
Some prompts that can motivate you - pictures, word text, etc.

If none of the questions below stimulate you, then you can start with writing (or something, a job) to find what you like as a starting point because you can investigate on what you might want to do while you gain experience. Make sure to absorb everything you can and put in extra work by doing things that are out of your task (i.e. for example, you are tasked to do A and you have some free time. You could take a break or if you see you can help someone else do task B, C,D,E... some people are willing to give you information while some may not). That way you can put down 'skills' you've never thought you had.

If not, then are you interested in something else?
Are you interested in how electricity or how water in your house works?
Are you worried about your parents health and want to get learn how to help them?
Are you interested in how your phone is made? (The glass, the lights, batteries, etc.)
    Or, your head (ear) phones?
Do you like to draw and interested to pursue it?
Are you interested in animals, bugs, or plants?
Do you want to conserve the environment?
Do you like history, war, how people in the past used to do things?
Do you like Greek or Roman mythology?
    Are you interested in religion?
How people think or why they do the things they do? Psychology, philosophy,...
Are you interested in how your food is produced? [Biofuel, genetics, pesticides, ...]
Do you like stationaries, cute things, cooking?
    Cars, metals, jewelry?
Are you interested in how a clock or watch is made?
Do you like to play games (playthrough, YouTube, twitch), are you interested in how the coding works (Python, Java, C++), how the drawing looks, the story, the direction/camera work, the music ...?
Do you want a job that is inside or outside?
Are you the type to worry about the future (i.e. apocalypse, or WWIII)? Develop plant identification, how batteries work, cars, ...
Are you curious how WIFI or the internet works?
Do you not mind paper work? You could do an office assistant work where you try to speak on the phone and do bookkeeping. Depending on where you are, you may need the qualifications, but they will 'give you pointers', so you can have some confidence. (You will need fast typing skills.)
If you are interested in learning a new language, you could try translating.
For writing, editing may help you with your sentence structure and you can gain experience by reading other peoples works. Would a publishing area interest you?
Some jobs may help you get a degree. Another method could be joining the military, so they could pay your degree (you'll need to research this).
Do you want to know how to do taxes? Do stocks?
Are you interested in how your clothes are made, how your desk (or other things) is built?
Are you confident with your appearance? Can you drive?
Since you are on here, are you interested in the anime/manga/LN/web novel industry?
Do you have a unique voice, you could try voice acting (if you have a mic)?
Are you interested in alternate energy? Are you interested in other peoples culture?

Communication and social skills (guess work here).
If I ask you questions would you be able to think on the spot.
How are you coping with COVID?
What was something bad that you were able to overcome it?
Something good happened to you, how did you felt?
[What is your definition of leadership?]

Do you have a practice talking partner? (your parents may count but if there are other people you know, then you could have a conversation with them)
Social skills may depend on the job (smile [depend on your country], thank you, please, sorry, I have a question, I don't know, but ..., ).
Do you know where [enter a place] is?
You see someone is acting weird? What do you do?

Do you have a cover letter and a resume done?

Do you have a subject you find interesting?
Since you are not interested in people (relationship), would you be interested in people (body - anatomy, physiology, teeth, eye, skin, nose, bones, ...)? Or would you like to work with animals (dogs, fish [zebrafish], frogs), insects (ants, termites) and spiders, or plants (moss, fungi, flowers, ferns)? How in depth do you want to know about? Their uses (treatment, medicine), their function (chemicals, cells, genetics), how to care for them, research on something (ecology, marine, ecosystem, drugs, systematics). If you are not interested in life would you prefer rocks (metals, erosion, weathering), chemicals (organic, inorganic, plastics, glass), or nature (physics, gravity, electricity, magnetism, dead bodies - forensics)? Are you interested in how things work or how to fix/conserve things? Are you interested in technology or math? Are you interested in building or creating things?

Is she interested in make-up or nail art?
Does she care about her appearance?
If yes, she could pursue learning more about these things. She could do massage, clean faces, do nail art, make-up, etc...
If not, try to ask her more questions to stimulate an idea that she could potentially pursue.

Has she done any personality test? By not caring, do you mean finding a job or not having an interest?
Is she the type to be in a situation and change the situation (once she is in, she contributes greatly), the type that follows the situation (goes with the flow), or the type to be ready for the situation (needs to be trained first)?

Is she doing something right now? Also, was she born in the year of the Snake? If yes, you can probably leave her alone because she will eventually find the right thing for her.
If not, then since you know her better you can decide if you need to step in (with parents) or let her do her own thing.

That's good to know. If she is really worried, then maybe she could come to this forum or somewhere else to give her an idea of what she might want.

I'll second what @ludagad said regarding work.

Don't stress out too much about college just yet. The whole college degree thing is a little overhyped, especially with inflated tuition prices. There are plenty of technical trade schools that can help you end up with a respectable job. There's a huge dearth of skilled tradesmen (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanists, etc), and they actually make more money than several "white collar" workers. The result of poor educational/structural policies throughout the entire world.

At the very least, it's a start to get you moving and financially independent. Hopefully you build up some confidence in the process.

If you decide that's not for you, you can always consider going back to college like other commenters have mentioned.

On a side note, consider asking the admin if you can change your username. While I don't think it'll suddenly turn your life around, adopting depressive monikers isn't great for your mentality.

Journalism? Well, I think I have to be interested in worldly affairs for that.

When I say I'm graduating, I meant I am in my last year, so I'm very busy because we're having a lot of exams left and right at the moment so I'm having a hard time making time for other things.
My writing style is yet to be specified, I guess. When I was younger, I used to write but not the novel style just small scenes. You know those with the scenes and dialogues like a script.

    NOPE

I studied a bit of basic programming since we're living in a very electronic world right now. but only very 'BASIC'.

Military? No!. Physical activities are still my nightmares.

Not really, I'm usually alone even at home.. I have a sister but she prefers going out, my opposite. And I rarely meet any relatives, not that I am comfortable with their company or anything.

I realized just now that my nickname is a bit depressing contrary to my intent.:blobsweat:

Actually, I first joined NU because the first webnovel that I read and loved was TCF (Trash of the Count's Family). I found this site because I was looking for spoilers and then the rest is history...

but isn't 10,000 for a name change too expensive? at least for me.

    1) Hmm, I think it's better to throw suggestions to yourself, anything, you can ask around with counsellor, family, classmates, what they think you're good at doing or what they think is a good job. Only list them and consider what you want to do. Don't limit yourself yet, 20 is still quite young, it's the 18th century's 10 years old! You're boxing yourself too early, you don't have to decide on one job and just do it forever, you can look around a bit and change your course.

    2) sexuality
Most people are confused about this and can be confused even at 50 years old. There's no need to have a definite answer to this question, because it's liable to change and will not affect your life progression. If you find someone you're interested in, lean in, tell them how you like them, and what you're honestly feeling. If you never find anyone, just have fun. There are people who have decided to live without partners.

    3) I'm neither studious nor athletic
I saw that someone suggested military(?) and you rejected the notion based on your high school achievements. Physical education is different from a military career, there's discipline, routine and honour in it, you may find that you actually like it. I feel that you are judging yourself with a narrow outlook to the world. You don't know yet what you're capable of, but you dismiss possibilities based on your high school achievements. I didn't learn much of anything in high school. Nothing I did in high school foreshadows my capability now. You need more honest opinion from people in their career, and more experience with work yourself. Volunteer and take on entry level casual / part-time work, not too long, just to meet people and find out more about jobs and maybe people's lives. Broaden your life views and find out what you want to be ← really important so you can plan out your life, what you want to be, what you want to have after XX number of years.

    4) I don't have friends
You don't have to stress about this. Friends come and go. You can lose a best friend of 20 years with time, you can find a casual but always present friend in your 30s. Just keep going out there and socialise in your own way. Unless you are a massive prick, you will find that people enjoy human interaction however they get it. Stressing over not making friend bars you from enjoying the friendships you do have/will grow to have, and leads you to a defeating journey. Take everyone as your shallow friend and just talk to them when you want. If there's a hangout party, go hang out.

    5) I'm not talented nor do I have any skills to boot.
No one is really talented, and skills are practised. The best thing about skills is that you can start sharpening them at any point of your life.

    6) My family is very poor […] university.
University is overrated. You can live just as well if you find the right job for yourself. If your country have vocational education, take that one, it's cheaper and will prepare you directly for work. Or you can work right away.

    7) I'm such trash. Is it normal to feel like this?
It's very normal, I also often think like this. My family are smarter and richer than me, I've only recently come to terms with my own life and finding out my own worth that matters only in my term. I stopped judging myself in comparison to other people.
You won't achieve anything by sitting still where you are, you have to move and stretch yourself in other areas, all depends on what you want to achieve in your life.

Sorry if I offend anyone with my words :bloblove:

In the military part, you're right. Although that is a bit difficult to consider since I'm an immigrant who is not a citizen.
Maybe I should look for some voluntary work... :hmm:
