Discussion Anybody else like messed up, dark psychological manga?

One of my favorite manga is called Freesia, but very few people know about it- even among my weeb friends. I also know that some people really hate the psychological genre in general, but I absolutely love f-ed up manga- you know the type where blood, guts, brain matter, and other body fluids spatter the walls due to some crazy crap that is common place in dark psychological series.

I'm not talking about stuff like Gantz, but the genuinely good dark psychological manga that lurks in the recesses of the world (lol). I just want to know if there are other people out there that enjoy such series as well (stuff like When They Cry (even though that's really primarily a visual novel)) kukukukuku.

 

I'll get in the mood for it, but not usually. I tend to like darker NSFW, so I don't think I will post links to what I read.

 

Considering my love of beserk devil man(original),and Warhammer 40k, I have some similar tastes,also loved the.first two when they cry series.

 

You might as well try Brutal: Satsujin Kansatsukan no Kokuhaku, that was some good stuff

 

I loved suicide island while not so messed up it's dark at the same time uplifting.Give it a try. Loved berserk too .

Yep, if it’s done well then it feels great. But it comes at a risk of feeling pretentious and using gore cheaply if not done correctly.

Exactly. There has to be a somewhat decent reason for what is causing all chaos or gore - otherwise its just gore for gore's sake and its just an empty story with nothing to really build off of.

i do like those kind of stuff (psychological, horror etc. dont really like the gore stuff, some times there are gore because it is gore, doesnt impact the story at all) from manga, vn and novels, unfortunately there are not a lot of them

i really like Knight Run webtoon, there are just something about how depresing their world really are (it reminds me of starship troopers) that i really like. very underated webtoon

Higurasi series are pretty good too

i just remember that there is a vn (chaos head) where one of the vilain scoop up a person brain when they are still alive with a spoon, doing it carefully to make sure that person wont die

edit: i forgot about 177013, it is a pretty interesting manga
