I can't, I tried. Every time I try to grab my breath with my hands I always seem to miss.

4 minutes 40 seconds or so. My last recorded back in highschool. I can do better now i think since we've been trained on anti drowning techniques and passed my test better than most.

 

Damn. Do you only take breaths every 5 seconds to save energy? jk jk

Three to four minutes? If I'm calm and fully rested. Nothing better than sinking down to the bottom of a clear lake and just sit around watching the fish be curious about you like the little sparkly water puppies they are.

One day I'll go full Wim Hof and just sit around at the bottom of an ice lake for a while, watching the birds walk around on the ceiling. Need more retention time.

 

As a person who can get hit trucks but still live, can lift a sack of rice, run as fast as a person with a bike, and kick that can dent or even bend metal, i'm mostly known to have the worst stamina out of all my family, and they are all lazy people.

20 seconds, the highest i can maybe go or i can force myself but i might actually be in a critical condition.

I tried it out a few seconds ago and I could hold my breath for 1 minute and 13 seconds, before seriously struggling to hold on, but it also depends on my motivation. I'm sure, I could hold my breath for 2 minutes or more, if you give me a million dollars for it

 

The amount of breath you can hold depends on your oxygen saturation level and oxygen in your lung. If you join diver club or in my case the army they'll taught you the breathing techniques that can optimize that oxygen and pacing your body heartbeat. From the outside it look like they just told you to play dead which is not far from what actually happen. Once you expended those oxygen and surfaced you'd need to do it all over again raising your saturation level and oxygen in your lung.
Do a calm relaxed long breath rather than fast short breath. You need to feel that your lung gradually filled with air without actually trying to strain them.

Edit. The record in HS basically done in first try with me acting like dead fish just floating around. I think i still can do better if not because they think I'm dead doing that and interrupt my run.

 

Well, if you ask me to hold my breath from my nose only, then it's forever, since I could just breathe through my mouth. But if both the routes are blocked then maybe upto a minute. Well, never counted so don't know but I believe I should be able to hold my breath for about a minute, so yeah...
