    No. RITF is a great example of FTX completely botching up a novel/MC.
    The only reason the MC seems to use his brain is because Fenglin miraculously uses plot to cover how stupid the MC is. RIFT has made me so iffy regarding Fenglin and his other works I haven't read, and frankly I'm afraid to because of this novel.

    Beginning of a classic cape-fiction, young adult develops superpowers and wants to become a hero, only to realize, in this broken world, there are no heros.
    One of my personal favorite novels of all time, strong characters, good plot and a main-character that truly grows and matures with the plot. It's a fantastic work that is believeable and plain and simple very well written cape-fictioon

    It's pretty good, but for those who aren't as big of fans of superheroes or western literature it might not be as interesting. The Gam3 or Whisper of the nightingale are probably better for a transition to english originals
