80 wpm on a standard English keyboard. You're lucky. My typing class didn't have enough keyboards, so we had to use pieces of paper with the keys printed on them to practice. I didn't understand how we were supposed to know what we were pressing since we weren't allowed to look at our hands. After that class, I could still write faster than I could type.
I used to be good before I changed my laptop. Dang, I miss that old one. This laptop has a very wide keyboard. Anywa, I can type quite fast on my phone because I have auto correct -which can be a headache but it can also be helpful-. I'm just average with laptop
I learned to type quickly because I was really bad at computer games back when I was a child, and when I was losing a match against the PC I had to type the invincibility cheat before my units were killed. I lost my heroes more times than I can count due to slow typing... Until I eventually started memorizing the places the keys were in in order to type faster... Essentially, being a bad gamer forced me to type quickly~
I wanted to learn to type fast for work. Also school assignments took ages when I typed slowly. It took time to learn but I'm glad I stuck it out.
If I try hard, I can get up to 75-85 wpm~ When I was little, my teachers made us do this typing program to learn to type- like, there were chickens and a farm and they were like "index fingers on the f and j keys, see those have protrusions on them..." I didn't follow that lol but I guess it helped a little
210wpm.. I hold the regional record.. Third in the world.. That's what I wish to say... .. I'm somewhere around 50wpm or even less.
