I always read about transmigration protagonists being doctors or killers IRL before being Isekai'd. It made me wonder what IRL skills are most useful when Isekai'd? (even the most simple ones like photographic memory I guess) Let me hear your thoughts

Psychological toughness probably. If I isekai'd, I'd probably commit suicide from depression, as most of what I consider my identity is deeply tied to what environment I am in. Imagine getting stranded on a different planet with a completely alien civilization, culture (not life forms or species as most isekais don't get that weird) for probably the rest of your life. Not the brightest of prospects

Definitely survival skills and proficiency in some type of martial arts for safety. Next is adaptability and probs observation skills?

    Survival Skills is a must
Communication Skills, good Observation skills and Adaptability...

You can safely assume that Isekai world as any foreign country you get to be... Survival skill if you somehow wakeup in the wilderness... Social skills, Adaptability and Observation skills are the most important if you somehow pass through and sent to near city. You should observe the culture and the likes and learn how they behave, learning to adapt. If you are seen as a foreigner and you can't understand the language will be the worst so atleast you should make a good way to communicate without speaking.

Soft skills are a must, especially if you start off as a normal person in human civilisation.
Stuff like communication, learning capacity, and making acquaintances.
If you’re out in the wild, then survival and combat skills are a must.

Really, the most important thing is to position yourself so you can survive, gather info about the world, and plan out your course of action

Oh that's ok~ I think have both short term and long term memory loss sometimes where I can turn around for one second and forget what I got up to do or mess up my mental timeline of events years ago

Depending on the type of isekai, a basic knowledge of how a windmill/waterwheel works isn’t hard to learn and quite usefull. Basic knowledge of steam power might be world-altering.
These are contingent on you surviving and earning money through other ventures first though

Rather than skill, it is more of a trait. Though I agree it is essential.

Well, the OP listed 'photographic memory' as a skill, so I reckoned that mine wouldn't be too outta place
