To be honest, I think so too. I kinda shipped them too from the start BUT I switched and I now ship EnjouXReika. Mainly because I can see him actually looking out for her. I can't remember whose POV is this but Enjou directly warned Tsuruhana Maki after the legendary three-way battle happened on the cafeteria. Plus, he is very similar to Reika's brother which is a plus.
I would like to ship him with Reika too if he doesn't have a (supposed) fiancee, and really, i like his brother Yukino more, Reika usually feels comfortable with Yukino while she is clearly annoyed/afraid of Shusuke lol

I know this is a spoiler forum and I apologize in advance but I really need advice. Question(hypothetical): What if Reika is not the real daughter of the Kisshouin family? if the Kisshouin biological daughter returned what would happen to Reika? (A plot twist like in Endless Love: Autumn in your heart) How would Reika's followers treat her? Will Kisshouins throw Reika away since they are super elitist? Will Reika be kicked out of the Pivoine? I am writing a fic about this and I'm really having a hard time... Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think Kisshouins family would adopt commoner in the first place, but if that's really the case they might be throw her (means they take out Kisshouin name from her and she casted out from Pivoine), but I'm sure Takateru will protect her and she can enjoy more commoner life without having trouble to hide it anymore. She might be sad because she can't see Yukino and the others again though. There's a similar story about this, the title is [Death Is The Only Ending For The Villain].
None of this would really matter because Reika has made too much of an impression already. To everyone else, she's basically the ideal of Pivoine members are supposed to be so abandoning her would mean that they would have to reexamine their preconceptions, and people just aren't able to do that kind of thing. If this was a less social story then something like this could happen, but "Kenkyo" just isn't that kind of story. So all in all, a change like this would add drama, but it wouldn't realistically make that much difference (except to move the story in a direction that it's not suited for).
