So do you prefer novels in printed form of a book or reading online on your smartphone or laptop? I really really like to read books but! I can't get out of my addiction to reading online. I bought some really interesting books but I haven't been able to read them. Do you have any suggestions for me? I mean on how to read online in moderation. By the way, does anyone have an eReader? Having one has been my dream since I was little but it's so expensive!
well printed is all good and shit but you have to put it somewhere when you're done. and you can read only at home (or travel with but meh)
Prefer online~ I like the feel of physical books but they're too cumbersome to carry around and I can't be lugging 20 different books that I'm currently into
If, and I say if, I have the book I want to read readily available in both formats, and if the hard copy isn't in (relatively) small, cramped or faded lettering (just merely legible isn't enough), then, and only then, I'd go for it. I prefer printed books, you see.
Printed, but I'm so broke to buy books here since English books could cost triple of the local ones, that's when I shift to online
I love printed books, but don't have the space to store them so i stick with libraries. But i mostly read online books nowadays out of necessity
Yeah that's a big problem with books Many of books have really small fonts unfortunately They are sooo expensive I love going to libraries and there was this really nice one where you could see the books and choose one but now because of the pandemic the shelves are off limited so feeling sad about it
depends on which option is the more available one and for what subtype. LNs and such, digital is preferred (cost reasons mainly). published western fiction, i prefer physical printed books. i grew up with physical books plus second hand book shops can have some real gems for cheap.
I have used an ereader and it also hurts your eyes less. You should look for a used older one for a better price, just make sure it supports the formats of files you need. I like to download epubs of webnovels and put them on it. If I can get a book printed I will (from the library usually) because it just feels better to touch paper.
It's a bit easier to read online on my mobile, very portable and you can get comfy. Books have the benefits of resting your eyes from all the screens though. What do you mean by eReader, a tablet? Since when are those expensive?
I will look for second hand ones I hope I will find one that supports my country's formal language. Not tablets. Most of e-readers have black and white e-ink display that doesn't hurt your eyes that much and has a really long battery life. Some are based on Android and you can install Android apps.
I prefer printed but I already own too many books. If I buy a new book, I'd rather buy something I've already read because then I'd know it was good. Lately, I've been reading ebooks and webnovels but I do buy print versions if they're available and not too expensive to import.
I prefer e books, but my problem is my parents scold me for being in the phone for too much (because of reading epubs) yet won't say anything if it's a printed book
I love physical books, but I move between towns and places too frequently (like I move every few months) for me to have too many. That's why I only have physical copies of my favorites. I also love physically writing notes in books, and it is not as satisfying doing it digitally with a highlighting tool. However, digital reading is really nice for at night without having to worry about keeping the main light on. In other words, I enjoy digital purely because of its convenience. As for eReaders, I think they are kind of useless in the modern age. Like 10 years ago, when they were still new and stuff, and before everyone had a smartphone or tablet- they were great. Now, they are just kind of a luxury, a literal item to own just because you can. Any smartphone or tablet does exactly what a eReader does and you probably already own one or both those things. Hell, you can use a laptop and it'll still have the same function.
