    Title ^

Someone told me they send emails to people who get accepted first, then the ones that got rejected. Been 4 days since the college in question started sending out the emails (whether you got accepted or not) and didn't receive anything. Also, do they inform you that you're on their waiting list?

I frankly believe I should be more patient lmao

Yes, they will let you know even about the waiting list.

Yup it could take a while but it usually goes:

accepted > waiting list > rejected

It depends on how many applications the college is dealing with

Ahh, I see ty. I have a rather stupid question, but do all rejected students go on the waiting list?

Things are simpler where I am, I guess. Here they release lists on fixed dates. If your name is on it then you are selected or ele waiting list. Usually 4 such lists are released, depending on cancellations and empty seats left. But usually there is no official one-to-one communication with the student.

They'll tell you unless they specifically note to you that they wouldn't bother to the one they didn't accept.

What country are you even in.... There were no emails for me. There was a site with applications and rankings to all universities. I saw I was above the threshold for uni I wanted most in and I clicked finalize or whatever the button was called. Basically like choosing seats online for an airplane or cinema, I could've picked any that was in my class or not taken already. This was probably according to EU standards. For those who fail there are also autumn selections for leftovers and whatnot.

beside the email and hard copy, they usually release application status update on a college's own application portal or site too (you can check on their site)

Yeah they do, but in some cases they just put up a list of those who got accepted. So if you didn't see your name, then you probably didn't

No, rejected students are well.. rejected lol
Waiting lists are made for those that could be enrolled but there’s no more capacity so they get put on the waiting list and if an accepted student doesn’t end up agreeing to go to that university then a spot is freed up for 1st on waiting list and so on so forth

In Australia, there's a website for almost all the university applications. You can just check that - usually there'll be an offer that you can choose to accept out of the courses and universities you've applied to.
If you're unsure, you could contact that college and ask?

What uni is this country in? If it's by the US system, all students should receive notifications on the same day, around the same time (this is generally the case for most, if not all accredited universities).

Public ones here directly publish cut-off marks. Like if you got anything below 8.467 out of 10, ur out. Private ones call you back as they tend to have lower standards.
