That aside, why are they both so certain he was from the Shaolin Temple when the Shaolin Temple is so far away from them and well known for being in decline? There are several other Buddhist sects with Grade 1 members, aren't there?

 

Maybe they all have unique robes or something. Hmmmm. On second thought they knew he was from the Shaolin temple when he went to the demon sect. That's why they wanted to interrogate him for the location of the MC or something. If this guy had heard the news then he'd have known.

 

If they knew the robes, then they'd also know that his designate him as a sweeper, unless there's just a vast difference between Buddhist sect robes, regardless of color.

 

I was worried this guy would show up right before he tried to breakthrough.

If the robes were identifiable by sight then they'd have recognized him as a Shaolin monk at the wedding. He must have told the demon sect when he asked where whatshisface was.

 

It sounds like he's planning to leave for good after his breakthrough. I wonder if the Demon Lord's attack will convince him that the outside is still too dangerous and that he should remain.

The knowledge of the temple possessed by their enemies is likely greater than that of random loose cultivators.

 

The MC's hometown is probably relatively close to the Shaolin temple though so people should be rather used to them. Though maybe sweeping monks aren't commonly seen outside.

 

I wonder how many seconds it'll take to deal with the Demon Lord once the MC bothers to act.

Also curious if the Abbot will wind up taking credit for killing him. Not intentionally of course, but simply due to people assuming things and no one bothering to correct them.

I got the impression that they weren't that close. After all, he went to the Demon Sect "on his way" to his home, and the Demon Sect was extremely far away. Though, I could certainly be wrong since I'm not sure how he would have made it into the temple originally if they weren't relatively close.

 

I don't think it was on the way. I think he took a detour and went out of his way to go kill that guy before going to the wedding. In just seems like it's on the way because he's a fast traveler.

This is feeling really drawn out. The conclusion is foregone and without any form of suspense. There's no need to waste so much time on it.

 

Author is trying to get the payoff for the MC hiding it so long but the circumstances just make it annoying.

 

Honestly, I would have preferred if he hid it forever.
