What's the worst thing you'd ever do for a million dollars, and what's the worst thing you'd do for a billion dollars?

To clarify, the question's asking about what you'd do to get x amount, not what you'd do with x amount. Additionally, there are no direct consequences for your actions.

With mill- get a farmhouse and huge hectares of land on a hill with river or lake and settle down..

With a bil- buy an island, set up a resort exclusive elite hotel and build a villa there and settle down... With the spare buy one or two transport vehicles from all three mediums..

 

Worst thing? Buy crypto and then share each letter of the password to different homeless people. I give them the full context. They now have to find each other and figure out the order of the password.

Yeah, people think it's "worst thing you'd do with x amount," when it means, "what's the worst thing you'd do (to get) x amount."

As long it's doable to a certain extent 7/10 then pretty much anything other than betray family..

 

A million isnt all that much in todays world. Sure it gets you a few pretty toys and trinkets, but homes and apartments regularly are bought and sold for more then this. A billion is more on the order of being larger then a small nation's yearly national budget.

Tbh you would have a hard time convincing me to do anything illegal for a million USD. Maybe some none permanent, non-scaring self harm or testing of questionable equipment. Payment would need to be in advance, and additional contractual clauses in case of death, dismemberment, or injuries leading to serious medical treatment. Basicly an incremental payout the more damage is caused to me.

For a billion USD? As long as im able to freely spend the money, not be branded a criminal, and still look my perents in the eyes without shame, skys the limit.

 

For a million I'd steal from/murder someone that's not clean
For a billion I'd shoot down a school

 

I'd kick a puppy for a million, a thousand puppies for a billion.

 

For a million steal, injure, or create mayhem.

I suspect the only real limitations on what I'd be willing to do would be what I was actually able to achieve, & how much effort was required (i.e. I'd be willing to do more for US$1b than US$1m).

Of course then there are the questions of who decides what's "worse", & who proposes the acts considered.

I mean if an Organized Crime figure wanted me to choose between manufacturing drugs or killing a rival, presumably he'd consider the murder "worse", whereas I'd consider most hard drugs worse (I mean, killing a crook? that's just vigilantism).

ETA: On further thought, I think sex crimes would be off the table, too much effort , too little reward (I have a quirk where I'm generally only genuinely interested in people I both know & like, even models & 2D characters are more along the lines of "I'd like to get to know them" or "I'd like to do that with <someone specific I know>")...

Million dollars I'd probably keep my actions to something that wouldn't cripple me for the future, such as maybe just breaking personal standards or maybe cutting off a pinky finger. Billion dollars though I'd be willing to sacrifice a leg, go bald, have a burn across my face, destroy my credit score, work as a corporate slave for the rest of my life, and more. Basically I'd just chalk it up to cost exchange as to what would be worth the value of a million or billion dollars. Million isn't actually enough for me to destroy aspects of my life, but billions would take a lot to match the value of so basically after a certain point it would cap out at what I'm not willing to live without.
