So I just started playing Genshin Impact a few days ago. I've tried out English, Japanese and Chinese for the voiceovers. Didn't like the English voices much. Some of the Chinese female characters sounded too much alike, and I don't speak Chinese so I'm afraid I'll miss stuff without subtitles. I don't speak Korean either, so haven't tried it. The Japanese voices are decent, but I don't like it when they start passive aggressively scolding you for leaving your character idle. Which language do you prefer and why? I'm leaving my game in Japanese for now.
Korean for me, but I speak the language haha Oh but do gotta say, the Korean voice over is pretty good imo ) except for Beidou.... ahaha unfortunately ^^;; but do give it a try! (Xiao voice is best voice in Korean and so is DILUUUC's)
I first used the English version when I started playing the game, for the sake of understanding about the game and all, and me just being dumb not realising there's the language option for voice only that time. Now I'm using Chinese, purely just because I happen to watched Youtube videos of CVA Klee and Paimon whaling primogems and Paimon CVA being a pervert for dem GI male butts. They're funny, and I'm to lazy to change to new language soon. I'm listening to Japanese ver. while playing side-by-side with my friends btw.
Depends on the character. I like English for Kaeya, Albedo and Zhongli. Korean for Diluc. Chinese for Xiao and Xingqiu. Japanese for Childe and Venti. But since of those four languages, I only speak English, English is usually what I’m sticking to.
unrelated but when i hear 'passive aggresive scolding you for leaving your char idle' i remember duolingo lmaooo
I decide on the voice-over based on which characters I use the most. If I like how my main characters sound in a certain language then I play with that language as the voice-over. I started out with the English voice-over because Barbara and Qiqi were really well done and I used those characters frequently. They changed the voice lines for Barbara though and I don't use Qiqi as often as I used to. Nowadays I play with the JP voiceovers because I think that the characters I use: Ganyu, Diona, Noelle, and Ningguang, all sound better with the JP voice acting.
Use Japanese while in mondstadt and Chinese while in liyue Joined the game for Aoi yuuki and matsuoka yoshitsugu which is why I mainly do Japanese
Both japanese and chinese are great. I prefer japanese though, because Klee actually sounds like a child and I enjoy hearing megumin as Hu Tao.
I use English but I kinda want to switch to Chinese because it's really good. However, the only thing hindering me from changing it is Albedo I've been spoiled by Khoi Dao's voice and I'm not sure if I'll ever be used to hearing Albedo's adolescent voice in the CN ver.
jp has great voice overs (i drool over kaeya's and beidou's) but i use chinese since i understand the language maybe in the future I'll change it back to jp, but I'm not touching the english voice overs (mainly because the va for zhongli is the same as miraculous hawkmoth and i can't unsee) yep noelle and ningguang sounds very good in jp i sometimes switch over to jp just to listen to their voicelines
i use chinese just because i’m chinese lol and the game is developed in china so i feel like the story would be more detailed and accurate if that makes sense ? + xiao and aether’s VA is just too good in chinese although i did play with japanese for a while
CN because I can understand it and none of the Liyue locations and characters get their names butchered.
