Why does Volume 7 open up with the world spontaneously having isekai elements like magic and midievil races? Big turn off

Its a filler arc. Also subtly establishes the power if Liam's true enemy.

 

Up until now, they were used only in relation to the protagonist. The world was more of a sci-fi story taking place in the future. It wouldn't make sense for magic to exist in this kind of world. Then came the random existence of the medieval races being added to the world that until now was mostly human with discriminated AI minority as well as the two godlike entities. All in the start of the 7th volume making me question what I was reading until now.

 

It had always been there, just rarely has time to shine because blasting each other with giant space Battleship look cooler

 

Well, I think at this point the author is just desperate for new plot elements to introduce. This was never meant to be a long story, but it was so popular he's been pressured by readers to keep it going on and on somehow.

 

I think so too. I'm not sure if this is true or not, so don't quote me on this, but Evil Lord was apparently just a side project for the author to advertise his other works. If you look at the raws on syosetu, he often advertises his works at the beginning or the end of each chapter...

 

The novel has been absurd from the start. I take these elves and dwarves in stride. Hell, the author could introduce talking space machineguns that fire magic beams for all I care. As long as it is funny.

 

The elf/orc/ goblin is not technically wrong I mean so far we had an millions planet empire where we only saw humans the fact that others races are show actually make sense on an sifi way. And the names well if the original empire had an mythos similar to Earth once they found these races they could call them with our mythos names and once these races took the commun human lenguaje they also took the name they used for them it make total sense on world building, sifi and actual political logic

also remember that once the technology is advanced enough it can be magic for those before

Now what seems the most fun is how different is commun sense and Liam sense is

To answer your question, the first story was supposed to be a one-off but it got popular so the author made it into a series. I do think that I am fine with the other races. It was made pretty clear at the beginning that everything is happening due to magic not technology so the other races has not felt out of place to me in all honesty. You do you though.
