I've been waiting for almost a year for the answer, but I guess I need to read the novel instead of waiting for the manhwa.
I do not ship Yuri with Lester. Spoiler: My analysis He may have a not-so-secret crush on her, but she has no spark with him. His advances feel uncomfortable due to her sibling-esque feelings, but also due to the fact she is and has always been a little girl to him. He’s had feelings for her for more than a day or two. They would have started when she was quite young. I once had a friend I held sibling affection for who did not hide their attraction to me. They kept ‘accidentally’ invading my personal space despite my obvious denial. They were also my work superior. I felt the same discomfort as Yuri. It’s not like I disliked the friend. I just could not have a relationship or further intimacy with someone I could not view romantically. A benefactor liking you in that way does not constitute an obligation to like them back in the same way. Whether the age difference is an issue also depends on the dynamics of a relationship. Lester is Yuri’s superior whether it is age or position. I admit Lester does carry a respect for her ‘despite’ Yuri’s true gender, but it’s also very clearly laid out that he likes being the only suitor to know. You could argue that it’s not fair to Lester. “If only he met Yuri when she was older!” Honestly, I don’t think Lester would hold the same attraction for her if they met under different circumstances. I suspect that he enjoys this unequal dynamic. There are times that this can work out, like in Emma, but this is not one of them. What matters most is that Yuri DOES NOT like him back. It doesn’t matter why. Feelings are not logical. The fact is that his feelings make her uncomfortable. She could enter into a relationship with him despite that, but I honestly still could not ship it. The princess might be a good match for him instead. I could see her and Lester getting into a battle of wits. Once she earns his respect, I do not think it will be long before she earns his heart. Lester could also fill hers in turn. She seems to be a romantic like Lester and craves a sincere romantic encounter. She also seems calculative enough to make a good partner for his business. As for the Queen... I think simpler familial affections and loyalty would hold more attraction to her than a pretty face or a sharp wit. I started shipping the Queen with Yuri’s brother after a scene where the Queen has dinner with Yuri’s family. You can see the Queen just soften in that homey environment. Someone caring like him would suit her well. It also would not give her enemies a ‘king’ to latch onto as a new figure of power if she marries someone who is not a noble. ————— Yup. Okay, so I just finished reading from chapters 56 to 79. I'm going to just talk about them briefly. I only wrote what I remember. Maybe I'll come back to these later. Spoiler: 56-60 The big commotion in the deep forest Yuri gets lost and accidentally enters the hunting competition area. She almost died to a bear but was saved by Aenon. Spoiler: 61-65 Flow of Love Queen Cecia teasing Aenon for deciding on going to Aswan. She thinks that he's going to Aswan because of Arsinoe, but he just wanted to follow Yuri. Aenon also thinks back to the bear incident and how he quickly ran to save Yuri. I think he said if it was someone else, he couldn't have rushed in without being prepared. Spoiler: 66-68 Have you ever tried pants? This is the event where Queen Cecia needed an escort, but couldn't choose anyone. Back then, Yuri asked why she needed an escort when she's the one who conquered the kingdoms herself so why does she need a man to escort her. So instead of wearing a dress, Yuri suggested Queen Cecia try on a suit (aka pants). Now that Queen Cecia is the ruler, she can freely express freedom just like other men do. No one expected Queen Cecia to wear a suit/pants. I think the only ones who knew she will wear pants were Yuri and Countess Elexa. When Queen Cecia showed up at the banquet, everyone was shocked to see the Queen wearing pants. So when men were greeting her, they didn't know where to look since they think it's inappropriate for them to see her crotch. Chancellor Dadallion (I think that's his name), the one who is like a father figure to Queen Cecia, nagged at her for wearing pants and saying that her crotch was exposed. Queen Cecia said that men also have their crotch exposed, but why can't women do the same. Spoiler: 69-70 One end This happened outdoors during a banquet. Lester gave Yuri a present. It was a box. Yuri thought it was a ring (or something) and opened it. It was the gloves that she wanted. I forgot what kind of gloves. Lester teased her asking if she thought the box contained jewelry. So Yuri thought it was time to tell Lester since she never told him about leaving for Aswan (the whole trip could take a year or so). I think Lester was willing to follow Yuri? I don't remember much. So instead of waiting for Lester to confess to Yuri, she asked him if he liked her. Yuri told him that she doesn't like him the same way he did with her. So after they talked about it, Lester is finally letting his love go(?). Lester asked if he could kiss Yuri. Yuri blushed but realized what he meant. So she allowed it and Lester kissed the back of Yuri's hand. During this time, Aenon was near Yuri and Lester, but was hiding from them. He saw that they went somewhere and followed them. Because of the banquet music, he couldn't hear what Yuri and Lester were saying. He was wondering what the two men were talking about. Then he saw that Lester kissed the back of Yuri's hand and noticed that Lester loves Yuri. He also realized that Lester's one-sided love just ended(?). Spoiler: 71-73 Aswan They decided who will go to Aswan. The people who will go to Aswan are Yuri, Plum, Ivy, Aenon, and Bandit. They will be traveling with Arsinoe's group. There are also Aenon's knights (I think) and some other maids. For those who don't remember, Ivy is the person who was suffocating from her corset while guiding Yuri to the Queen (Manhwa Chapter 12). She was the only person to apply to be a lieutenant to travel to Aswan. No one wanted to travel to Aswan. Yuri was surprised because she thought it would be a man. Ivy said that she applied because she wanted to work instead of getting nagged by her parents to get married. During their travel, Yuri, Plum, Aenon, Ivy, and Bandit were traveling in one carriage. Spoiler: 74-75 Valencia's Delinquent Youth They decided to talk about Aenon's childhood. He is the illegitimate son of the Tyrant Abyssa. He sent Aenon to Valencia as a hostage (I don't get this part). At that time, Tyrant Abyssa was the owner of the Cup of Reign and no one can disobey him. But there was one thing that he forgot. The Cup Of Reign doesn't work on their immediate family who is related by blood. When Aenon was sent to Valencia, he didn't have a name. He was given a name by someone in Valencia, but I forgot who. No one cared about the 2-year-old Aenon. That's when Cecia was running around the place and found Aenon. Later on, Aenon grew up and killed Tyrant Abyssa at the age of 13 (I think). Spoiler: 76-79 If you are pretty, your life will be tired After hearing about Aenon's childhood, people were curious about Yuri's childhood. Yuri was kinda surprised that people were interested in her childhood since it was pretty normal until she regained her past life memories. She had to lie that she was the only son in her family. Everything else was pretty much the same. At one point, they got attacked by a group of bandits (not Bandit), but they got wiped out by Aenon's knights. They only suffered a little injury. I think only Aenon's knights were hurt and everyone else is fine. They went to the nearest city/town to get treated and repair their carriage. I'm not sure about this part, but they arrived at the city/town and there was someone who was demanding to see Arsinoe. I think he was someone who was pretending to be a lord and abusing their authority? But Aenon noticed that person isn't the lord, but a relative? So this is where Aenon had to reveal that he is Duke Lionheart. Because he revealed himself as the Duke, rumors about Arsinoe and Aenon will spread. Aenon wanted to avoid this the most. So they decided to split from the group. Aenon's group will go his way and Arsinoe will go on her way.
Here's the summarized version of the chapters ~ Spoiler: 80-81 Caught (Short Version) Yuri gets caught while taking a bath by Ivy. Ivy decided to keep it a secret and help Yuri. Spoiler: 82-83 Between love and friendship Ivy really likes Yuri and also felt bad for slapping Yuri when she saved her from suffocating in her corset. She's really overprotective when it comes to Yuri and they're both really close to the point where Yuri can call her Ivy instead of Miss Ivy. Aenon is jealous that Yuri and Ivy are close. Spoiler: 84-87 Prince of Northern Aswan To get to Aswan, they need to travel through the River of Eternity. To do that, they need to take a ship to get there. Yuri described the ship as a cruise ship that you would take to go on vacation. Nigel is known as the Prince of Northern Aswan. When Arsinoe's kingdom (Southern Aswan) was being attacked, Nigel turned into a blind eye. Now, Nigel is known for actively pursuing Arsinoe even though everyone knows Arsinoe loves Aenon. Aenon didn't want Nigel to notice him so Aenon told Yuri to call him "Len" instead of "Your Excellency" or "Aenon". Aenon didn't like the type of person Nigel is because he didn't help Southern Aswan and now he's pursuing Arsinoe. While Nigel was greeting them as they board the ship, they introduced themselves as Ivy's party. As Yuri tried to board the ship, the stairs and the railings were too high for Yuri to reach. So Nigel offers her a hand, but Aenon quickly princess carries Yuri before Yuri held Nigel's hand. Because Yuri was surprised, she almost said Aenon's name in front of Nigel. Aenon apologized to Yuri for surprising her. On their way to Aswan, Nigel got along with everyone since there are 40 passengers. He was friendly towards women. So Nigel stopped the ship at a place where people can fish and invited guests to fish. Only 5 people came (including Yuri and Bandit). Everyone was able to catch a fish except for Yuri. When Bandit went back inside the ship and saw Aenon. He told him that Yuri is still on the deck because she was the only one who didn't get a fish. So Aenon decided to go to the deck to get some fresh air. While Nigel and Yuri were alone on the deck, Nigel told Yuri that there's a superstition that fishes in the River of Eternity are not attracted to women. Spoiler: 88-89 Nigel's Small Revenge Yuri was surprised and asked Nigel how he knew that she's a girl. Nigel asked if it was true. He kinda knew the truth because it was a bit obvious. Nigel told Yuri that it was weird that Aenon lifted up Yuri so quickly since they're both men. Also since Aswan is a hot place, Aswan women usually cut their hair short and wear wigs to important places. Nigel also recognized Aenon. Yuri asked how did he know. Nigel told Yuri that he'll tell her if she kissed him on the cheek. Going into Nigel's thoughts, when Nigel first helped Yuri, he didn't think too much about helping her board the ship until Aenon princess carried her. He took a look at Aenon and noticed that Aenon is left-handed because his sword is on the right. He noticed that "Len" and Aenon are similar people, but there can't be two people who have red hair, handsome face, wide shoulders, and is left-handed. So he got someone to confirm who he is. He wondered why Aenon kept rejecting Arsinoe. He also noticed that Aenon keeps looking at Yuri. But no matter how he looks at Yuri, she's a woman and Aenon likes her. Going back to Nigel telling Yuri to kiss him on a cheek, he doesn't think of it more than a 12-year-old kid kissing his face. Aenon saw Yuri kissed Nigel on the cheek. Yuri asked when Aenon was there, but Aenon didn't listen to Yuri. Nigel made eye contact with Aenon since he felt like he had a small victory which is making Aenon jealous (I guess).
