I watched and read Alice in borderland a couple weeks ago . I really liked how they had to play games for survival . So does anyone have novels or manga or anything that has this concept ? I would like to have little to no romance in it .
There's the "survival game" tag, which is probably what you're looking for. I was using the series finder to find the highest-rated non-romance novel with that tag, but every survival game novel with a higher rating than Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (4.5 stars) was a BL, and those definitely have romance in them... Seriously, other than ORV and Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku, the first page was all BL. ORV is a pretty good novel and non-romance too. Would recommend. Edit: forgot, but ORV has a manhwa as well. You can read the licensed translation of it on webtoons.com Once, a long time ago, I read Sovereign of Judgment too. It's not bad but survival game premise doesn't last through the whole book. It's got a romantic subplot too, so yeah. Edit 2: Heard good things about Reincarnator, and that one's got no romance too.
a game of survival and playing games for survival aren't necessarily the same thing. The former = bunch of people placed on an island trying to survive, the latter = play a game of chess and the winner survives
Most of the popular survival game or unlimited flow novels on NU are Bl but if your not into bl there are some that don't focus so much on the romance and focus more on the game such as The Earth is Online and global university entrance examination, they still have romance but it's not the main point of the novel
There are many but with different concept (different kind of game), my fav is 48 Hours a Day But if you want to try to find one, you can go with 'series finder' with 'survival game' tag. And cross anything that you don't like.
Well, the description for survival game tag on NU is just that the main characters must fight for their lives in an organized competition. Playing games of chess for your life would technically fulfil this though, I guess it depends on whether you take "fight for their lives" as literally fighting, or just make attempts to survive. But yes, I guess if you're looking specifically for board game-type survival games this tag needs to be narrower.
