A shameless medical student trying to excuse my reading addiction as productive. Looking for something like the manga Medical Return (primarily focuses on modern medicine). I read BL, BG, even GL. As long as the doctor/medical professional character doesn't have a golden finger that cures everything with 0 explanation, or just uses acupuncture and traditional medicine. Even if it discusses the disease and not the treatment I am okay, or even if it's 'forensic files' style or just refers to popular drugs that I honestly should be studying right now but rather read isekai... I just want something that presents medicine somewhat accurately T~T because the blood of the father doesn't cure anaphylactic shock dammit.

The only media I can actually even think of that's portrayed pretty medically accurately is Hataraku Saibou/Cells at Work, which is the manga/anime, disregarding personification and artistic interpretation. Aside from that, I practically refuse to acknowledge any other media aside from actual medical documentaries and lectures. I'm looking at you hospital dramas. I haven't read much of it, but Bone Painting Coroner might be something you'd want to look into. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto might also be another piece to read. I didn't find anything out of the blue so to speak, but I have noticed some skepticism over how versatile silver is used. And remember: the mitochondria is not the powerhouse of the cell (apparently). W-w-what do you mean my 1,000,000-year-old blood phoenix nine-essence ginseng pill can't cure my liver? They said there's clearly an extreme yin imbalance poisoning my dantian and my great-grandpa paid at least a good two million high-grade immortal crystals for this!
