I'm curious, how much affect that rating in novel bring you?
Do you have any bottom line for novel rating?
For example if it's under 2,5 star, you won't read it or something like that.
Personally for me, I rarely read novel under 3.5 star, mostly is around 4 star

How about you? Do you care about rating or not?

Sometimes I scroll down to reviews and see what kind of gripes the people that rated 1 star have with the story but I don't really look at the overall rating.

Rating depends but I will read the book based on comments first.

NU ratings aren't reliable enough for me to give an F about lol. It's the reviews that are usually helpful, though sometimes it just gives misinformation to readers.

Ratings only affect me if I search for novels with specific tag(s).
Normally I look at all new novels and decide based on tags and description, whether I want to give it a chance.

Ratings doesn't affect me in any way. I read masterpieces at 3 stars and read trash novels at over 4 stars.
Also, some novels could be objectively really bad, but at the same time very enjoyable for you etc.
Not, that the reviews on NU are necessarily objective, which in return even more distorts the ratings further.
Most people bring their culture and ideology into the ratings and reviews.

I tend to ignore novels below 3 rating. If I find a novel below 3 but with a good synopsis, I will read through the reviews before deciding whether to go ahead.
Unfortunately, I have noticed that a lot of new novels with barely 1 or 2 TLed chapters out are given 1/2 stars automatically by bots or whatever with no reviews so that's messing up with me.

Rating doesn't have any effects to the one who doesn't read it

But why? The bots are giving review? Is it automatic?

there are people who go around rating a 1 based on genre without reading the story so ratings aren't reliable.
I read the reviews, and usually the ones that rate it a 3 or lower are much more informative about the actual story content (and it's flaws) than the ones that rate everything a 5 and gush bout how much the love it so I look for those.
it doesn't stop me from reading a story, but I find everyone's different ways of seeing the same story interesting.

In my experience, the ratings are somewhat indicative of what's decent and what's not. I agree with the 3.5 threshold in case there are enough reviews.

That said, there's 4.5+ novels that I think are quite bad, and there's a few lower rated ones I like.

3.5 stars or higher. I don't read yaoi but a lot of their stuff is rated highly.

You have to look for specific tags like rape. If you are fine with reading it just beware that people downvote just cause of the tag. I think some qidian ratings are also down voted cause of the site.

I used to ignore the rating but recently I've made a discovery that after combing through descriptions and reviews, the ones I ended up reading + somewhat liking are 4 stars or higher, 3.5 being the lowest. So now I'd generally ignore those below 4 starts unless the description is particularly catching

Nah, it doesn’t affect me at all. To tell you the truth. I give a lot of leeway to novels. I’ll go several chapters before I decide to drop it. There were a few times I’ve thought of rewriting certain novels because of really bad grammar or something. But I restrained myself because well I’m lazy. I hope this help
