I just finished reading the story to the end! It has been a while since I last wrote a spoiler * English isn’t my first language so there might be mistakes * I didn’t reread what I wrote to there might be some mistakes * I’m writing what I remember and what I MTLed so it won’t be 100% accurate, Spoiler: My opinion about this novel honestly, I was really disappointed when I read this as I was looking forward for a lot of fluff. Instead, the fluff in my opinion wasn’t satisfying (this is my opinion) The novel’s idea itself was really interesting and fun at times, the characters’ personas were also very well written. What I didn’t like was that there were many time skips Less that 1 year old —> 3 years old —> 5 years old —> 7 years old —> 12 years old —> 18 years old. MC was supper distrustful of everyone and avoided having any kind of relationships or attachments to others which would frustrate the reader to no end. Her antisocial behaviors made it hard for me to enjoy this as I was expecting a heartwarming story about how she would end up loving her new family, The plot was also a bit centered around MC, the uncle and ML a bit too much, almost every other character is treated as a supporting character. many characters weren’t given any time to shine (for example her cousin, the author really didn’t give him what he deserved, it’s as though he was there to be the one to inherit the family so that MC can get married). (I think the cousin talked about MC throwing the curse doll in fire) MC was worried he would find her black magic tools (I think she made curse dolls and hid them?) but he found the book kaisan(MC’s cousin) gave her which was about black magic. MC was so shocked since she forgot the existence of that book and immediately started chanting warp magic in her head with a mana stone in her hand. The uncle unconsciously reacted and attacked MC with a spear (turns out later he just wanted to push the mana stone since he didn’t know what magic she was using) MC finally warped and was convinced that the uncle wanted to kill her. She thought that she teleported far away but the place she was at was strangely familiar. She looked around. It was the uncle’s garden. *** Back to the uncle’s side MC’s grandfather was angry at the uncle for scaring MC. Suddenly’s a wizard teleported to them. It was Melaine(MC’s disciple and the one who killed her). He came to apologize for the griffon incident. MC’s grandfather snorted and talked coldly to Melaine before asking him to look for his granddaughter. Melaine walked to where MC disappeared and quickly figured out where she teleported. He was surprised that MC was still a baby(he though she would at least be 3 years old since she used teleportation magic) *** MC was resentful toward Melaine and didn’t know how to react. Melaine sat next to MC and started talking about Hella (MC’s past life) with a longing face which made MC more unable to understand why he betrayed her and killed her. MC’s grandfather and uncle appeared. Melaine expressed his intention to take MC and make her his disciple which made MC feel goosebumps and disgusted. The grandfather refused by calling Melaine a dog who killed his owner and then kicked Melaine out. It was the first time MC felt thankful for the crowns. *** MC’s grandfather was talking with the uncle. He told the uncle that he was going to meet the emperor and buy a high quality mana stone mine(for MC) and that he would be busy and told the uncle to talk to MC about using magic(he looked as though he was running away with the excuse of buying the mine) The uncle was shocked, how was he supposed to converse with a baby? *** MC’s uncle went to talk with MC and saw that Vera(maid) was feeding her. He told Vera to go out and started to feed MC MC looked at the baby food and wondered if it was poisoned. The uncle snorted, and said he wasn’t desperate enough to poison her food. MC felt ashamed and shocked as she wondered if the uncle can read thoughts. She had a mana stone in hand and wanted to teleport. The uncle took the mana stone and put it in the MC’s mana stone pile. He told her that he would confiscated ALL her mana stones if she used magic in front of him without permission. He talked about the her using of black magic to which MC pointed at the black magic book. The uncle didn’t believe that she learnt black magic from that and started feeding her. her uncle told her to live quietly like a died person MC was reluctant but she had to admit, the uncle was very good at feeding children and he was also the best at holding her. *** MC’a aunt came to visit, she said that she was going to adopt MC and raise her herself the grandfather refused. MC was excited because she was actually a fan of the aunt and had a collection before her death(she lamented when she thought about not seeing her collection again) The aunt said that Valian(MC’s father) sent her a message before her death telling her to take care of MC if the grandfather and uncle aren’t taking good care of her the grandfather still refused. The aunt talked about adopting MC as her daughter and that the grandfather knows she can’t have children (I’m not sure why she can’t) the grandfather said there was a problem with MC(she can use magic) turned out she knew as Valian mentioned that MC’s mother was a wizard MC couldn’t believe and immediately called the aunt Mom. the aunt happily held MC and said that MC was smart. It was the uncle who broke MC’s happiness by saying that it’s bad for MC to be with her since her husband is a holy Knight. MC was shocked as the husband was actually a really strong holy Knight. Holy power and black mana are enemies that can never coexist. If there was a man with a stronger holy power, the black magic wizard’s mana would be suppressed and vice versa. MC was frightened and immediately called her grandfather to hold her The holy Knight nodded at the uncle’s words and the aunt was disappointed as she left with him. Before MC left with the maid, she noticed that the uncle’s expression was strangely stiff. Spoiler: 3 years old Spoiler: 1st run away Ever since the uncle fed her, he kept coming in her room from time to time to feed her which forced MC to train hard to hold a spoon (which has failed since she was too young) The grandfather was still sweet to her but MC thinks that he is treating her like a pet as he didn’t have her name registered in the family. Ever since she started walking, she managed to avoid the crown family. The only one who didn’t give up was Kaisan who kept looking for her at every chance he gets(MC even teleports sometimes to run away from him) As she can’t speak properly (she needs to chant in ancient language to cast magic), she still can’t perfectly cast magic. The servants in the mansion bully her secretly (like a maid bumping into her which causes her to fall) MC was walking after running way from Kaisan. She heard the uncle asking the grandfather when he would send MC to the academy. MC was shocked by his cruelty as she knew that the academy was the place to lock illegitimate children of noble families and using magic was banned there. She interfered and asked the grandfather if he was throwing her away. The grandfather stiffened and didn’t know what to say. MC asked where are you going to throw me away? When are you going to throw me away? The grandfather didn’t know how to reply when MC finally threw the final blow. You can throw me away The grandfather was shocked. MC poked the uncle(I gave you a chance, hurry up and persuade him!) but the uncle was frozen and didn’t say anything contrary to her expectations. The grandfather held her and told her he loves her. MC didn’t believe him but smiled. *** MC started preparing to run away. She made sup-space(like an item box, I’ll just call it storage) and stored the important items like mana stones. She looked for an orphanage in book that was listing them and their location. She chose an orphanage outside the capital. After 1 week of preparation, she gave Vera(her maid) a gift(it was an item that has the best protection magic she can correctly cast). Vera was happy and kissed MC’s forehead before telling her to have sweet dreams. When Vera was out, MC used the mana stones and teleported. She had to teleport 3 times to reach the orphanage and took around 3 hours rest after each teleportation. When she reached the orphanage, she threw herself in the soil and cut her dress to look homeless. An employee saw her and asked her how she got here. MC decided to revenge on the uncle. She said her uncle told her to live quietly like a died person and threw her here telling her to wait here. The employees pitied MC and immediately let her inside. *** Vera was shocked and frightened not to find MC in her bedroom. She looked around and found a message written by MC. [leaving, bye] She letter was written clumsily and the handwriting was hard to understand but Vera understood the letter and ran to MC’s grandfather. When Vera told the grandfather that MC left, the uncle was with him. She showed them the letter and the uncle read it in a loud voice. He should have been happy that the illegitimate child disappeared in her own accord so why was he feeling so unpleasant? He immediately told Vera to see if the things MC treasured were still in the room. If they were still there, that means she would return, if not, she really ran away. Vera immediately ran to check that. The uncle told the grandfather to come with him to his office. *** Kant(butler) came in the office and reported that MC was seen with a book listing the orphanages in the empire(the servants thought she was just playing with the books). The uncle was shocked and dumbfounded. When did that thing learn how to read? There was no answer. What made him dumbfounded was that a 3 years old child ran by herself to go for an orphanage(she even searched for one)! The uncle ordered Kant to mobilize manpower to secretly look all over the orphanages for a child with silver eyes, it wouldn’t be hard since silver eyes are rare. *** MC felt that the orphanage was strange. When the employee washed her, she mentioned how MC was really a pretty child which sounded strange for some reason. The children were also way to obedient. A child secretly approached MC and warned her not to trust the orphanage director as children who are pretty usually disappeared after leaving with the director. MC went to spy but a roped man saw her. MC was shocked since he was too strong, probably strong than her as Hella. But she never met a black magic wizard with red eyes like him before! The man saw her and immediately approached her and talked about how amazing it was that her body accepts mana despite being to young and that he was looking for a child like her(he was looking at her with cold eyes as though she was a fun toy). MC wanted to runaway but couldn’t. The orphanage director came and told the roped man the MC was already going to be sold in an auction. The roped man said that he would give the orphanage as much money she wants in exchange for MC. The orphanage director finally accepted and asked for a month to “educate” MC. The roped man said 2 weeks The orphanage director said that she would try. MC wasn’t worried since she could teleport but suddenly the took a bracelet off and put it on MC’s wrist. MC was shocked as it was a special metal only found in ruins and can cut off mana(since the roped man was wearing it despite that, he must have been ridiculously strong). MC could no longer use her mana. The orphanage director started the “education” by locking up MC and making her thing that as long as she listened to orders she would be given food and not be locked in a dark room. MC pretended to be educated in order to run away when the roped man takes off the bracelet from her. The director made her beat up other children’s and do many things. After 1 week, the orphanage director told MC to push her finger into the knife. As MC’s finger was about to touch the tip of the knife, she heard a familiar voice. “Selena, if a single drop of blood drops from you then don’t dream of going back” It was her uncle. He broke the door and beat anyone who tried to stop him. Step by step, he approached MC and held her in his arms. Then, without caring about anyone, he exited and went to his carriage. He put MC across him and sat silently. MC, for the first time Called her uncle. She didn’t call him uncle, she directly called his name(imagine this, more than 2 years together and she never called him???!) The uncle was surprised that MC called him. MC asked him if he didn’t see her letter. The uncle was dumbfounded, he asked her if THAT was a letter. He said he saw it. She asked him then why he came after her. He said he didn’t know. MC asked, don’t you hate me? The uncle didn’t reply. Finally, MC told him, 7 years. The uncle was confused. MC explained, he just needs to raise her until she is 7 years old and she would quietly leave. The uncle asked if she was going to run away like this time and she nodded. He looked at MC coldly. MC hesitated and said, 5 years (someone, knock some common sense in this person). The uncle finally ignored her and talked about her father, he would always sneak out and play with the commoners. *** Back at the mansion, the grandfather looked silently at MC and asked if she hated going to the academy that much. MC didn’t reply. The grandfather didn’t know what to do but he was obviously angry, sad and worried. He asked why she didn’t say so if she hated the academy that much. MC wondered how he would react if he knew that his real granddaughter died because of him (since he just ignored her) She told the grandfather that she would go to the academy when she is 7 years old. The uncle who was silent so far, opened his mouth and said that MC said she would run away when she is 7. MC was shocked, she thought they were in agreement, she couldn’t believe he sold her out! And here she was wondering who Kaisan took after to be such a snitch, turned out he takes after his father! The grandfather was shocked and didn’t know what to say, MC finally left the room *** The roped man was looking at the orphanage director and asked her how MC disappeared. Eventually, the orphanage director told the truth and described the uncle’s appearance. The roped man figured out that it was really MC’s uncle and realized MC was from the crown family. He also noticed a black aura around the orphanage director which meant that someone was preparing to cast a curse on her. The roped man decided to buy all the children. The orphanage director was happy and was planning to run away. Suddenly, she called the roped man’s name. Asmodeus and asked him what he was doing with the children. Asmodeus gave a vague reply before leaving Spoiler: The ruins Vera was too shocked that MC ran away and refused to leave her side, she even gave her back the gift MC gave her. After some time, there was an earthquake. Vera protected MC with her body. Luckily, nothing fell on her since there wasn’t much furniture in her bedroom. MC couldn’t help but feel touched at vera’s action of protecting her and vowed to return this favor. MC realized that a ruin appeared but was confused why there were no new from the magic tower. Ruins were built in ancient times and an ancient magic was casted on them to hide them underground, over hundreds/thousands of years, the magic wore off and the ruins started appearing above ground. Ruins have conditions to enter(like, only women can enter, only children etc) after entering the ruins, it’s impossible to leave unless the ruins are cleared, at the end of the ruins are artifacts, they are items with strong powers and choose their owner(others can have the artifacts if they killed the owner). As hella, MC had 2 artifacts. The tower is responsible for informing the kingdom if ruins were about to appear above ground and MC even made magnifying glass just in case but the tower didn’t inform the empire at all (when ruins appear, there would be strong earthquake and monsters which leads to casualties). Vera went downstairs. MC saw the uncle holding Kaisan who was crying and soothing him. For some reason, the uncle was shocked when he saw MC and Vera. He asked if MC was hurt anywhere and the maid said that MC was safe. The emperor came with his 2 children and talked with the uncle about the ruins. MC wanted to sneak out to see the ruins but the uncle suddenly called her and told her to stay still, he even told Kaisan to keep an eye on her. The emperor teased and asked if MC was the uncle’s daughter. ) (There was a rumor that the uncle had a daughter when he came to pick up MC from the orphanage). Both MC and the uncle denied immediately which made the emperor dumbfounded. The emperor suddenly mentioned Hella’s death which made MC uncomfortable as she was alive here. She eventually was out of breath. The uncle suddenly held her and soothed her the same way he soothed Kaisan. When MC calmed down she felt embarrassed but the uncle calmly put her down. The emperor watched all that with a dumbfounded expression, he even wondered if there was something wrong with him since he couldn’t believe what he saw. Finally, they started to talk about the ruins. The prince and princess went to MC and Kaisan and wanted to play with MC. MC refused them coldly by saying that she was busy. The prince was shocked and asked if she was busier than him the prince, and that he has 10 classes a day. Eventually, the princess and prince started fighting with Kaisan saying that Kaisan was monopolizing MC and he always plays with MC. Kaisan said that he doesn’t always play with MC and the fight continued(Kaisan who was acting as a shield against the royals, was quite cold that MC wondered if he was the same crybaby who was being soothed by his dad just now). Watching them fight, MC seemed to look back at her life and started to think that she was a sinner. The princess grabbed MC from a hand. Kaisan grabbed the other hand. The prince was embarrassed he had no hand to grab but eventually grabbed MC’s shoulders. They went to the garden to play and MC used this chance to drown the curse doll she made for the orphanage director. *** The uncle was in his office when he received a report the all the children are gone and the orphanage director who escaped was found dying from drowning even though there was no deep water around her. The uncle immediately thinks about MC and doubts that MC did it like with the woman who was burned to death. He sits alone in the office and feels annoyed that he couldn’t find who wanted to buy MC or get to the orphanage director. He decided to stop thinking about MC but before he realized it he was thinking about how he for some reason felt guilty when he saw MC in Vera’s arms after the earthquake ( He has long realized that MC was strange in many ways) *** After they went to the ruins, MC went to her room and preparing to teleport. As she was about to teleport, Kaisan came in the room. When he saw the light resultant of the magic, he immediately ran and hugged MC. Kaisan ended up teleporting with MC. He held his wooden sword and told MC that he would protect her as her older brother. He also asked if MC missed his father too and wanted to see him but MC replied that she didn’t. MC sighed as there was no use crying over spilled milk, she decided to go to the ruins site (she didn’t want to go inside the ruins, she just wanted to see it from the outside). MC teleported with Kaisan again and saw the wizards, uncle and the emperor with their Knights fighting against monsters. Kaisan wanted to run and call his father but MC stopped him. The fight ended. MC read the condition to enter the ruins and it was something related to the weight of the crown. There was no one of the wizards that managed to enter including Melaine. The captain of the holy Knights managed to enter(MC’s aunt’s husband). The emperor and the uncle were confident in entering the ruins but were talking with each other. Suddenly, Kaisan called his father. The uncle was shocked and looked at Kaisan. MC went out of her hiding spot and the uncle looked at her in rage. The uncle asked how did they sneak in the carriage. MC realized he didn’t want others to find out that she can use magic so she immediately played along and surprisingly Kaisan played along as well. The uncle told them to go back and made some knights go with them. Just as MC was going back, something like air wrapped around her and dragged her causing her to fly. Kaisan managed to react in time and grabbed MC’s hand and flew with her. The uncle tried to catch them but couldn’t. They were thrown inside the ruins and the holy Knight(aunt’s husband) caught them. Soon, the uncle ran inside as he shouted for MC’s and Kaisan’s names which shocked her since she didn’t expect him to call her name too. After making sure they were alright, he asked what happened and Kaisan explained that something dragged MC inside. MC felt unfair since the uncle was suspecting her even though she was innocent. The uncle wanted them to go out but as expected, the ruins didn’t let them out. So, they had to clean the ruins first. The holy Knight carried MC which made the uncle frown. The holy Knight explained that it’s better for him to carry MC and the uncle to care for his own son. The uncle became silent. MC was held by the holy Knight while Kaisan walked beside his father. As they walked, MC felt some mana and stopped them. Everyone didn’t take MC seriously except the holy Knight, he put MC down and went to the spot she pointed at and there was a trap(or monster?) He got rid of it in half an hour. The emperor asked the uncle about MC’s ability but the uncle denied. They looked for the next floor passage but couldn’t find it. After 1-2 days, MC went looking around and found the passengers on the floor. She immediately ran to the holy Knight and tagged at his trousers, telling him that she found something. The uncle looked at MC with a frown. MC didn’t understand why, I purposely didn’t bother you and asked someone else for help so why are you so unhappy??? (My head, I bet every reader understands that he wants her to rely on him instead). The holy Knight stabbed the floor with his holy artifact and they confirmed that it was the passage for the next floor but they didn’t know how to open it. MC considered the entry condition (weight of the crown) and called the HEAVIEST one in the group, the emperor. This time, the uncle frowned more. (She is going to call anyone but him *facepalm*) When the emperor stood on that spot, they ended up falling. MC was speechless, so one emperor was enough??? MC quickly took out a mana stone when suddenly the uncle jumped down quickly and caught her. He looked at MC and sighed. Then, he told her to stop poking her nose everywhere which made MC feel offended. He explained that they are adults, they can do this and she does have to do anything and just act like a child. He comments how MC sucks her pacifier(yeah, don’t worry, the pacifier is still here) whenever she is nervous and she did this a lot since they entered the ruins. He finally told her to just stay close to him and promised with his family name that he would protect her and made MC promise not to do anything he doesn’t like (MC thought of this as a temporary alliance while they are in the ruins). The next floor was about sirens and only MC and Kaisan were the first to hear it because they were children and their ears were more sensitive. When MC called Kaisan, the uncle noticed him and called him. Kaisan kept walking forward with eyes as though he was half asleep. The uncle put MC down and caught Kaisan. MC explained that it was Sirens.(she didn’t know why she wasn’t affected like Kaisan though) The holy Knight explained what sirens are and was going to kill them but MC stopped him because once sirens die, the whole sea would become poisonous which would lead to their death. The emperor asked how MC knows and MC lied by saying that she is hearing something in her head and pretends to be in pain. The uncle immediately asked MC and held her. MC explained that from the voice she heard in her head, the method to overcome the floor is by blocking their ears and walking for the next floor. The holy Knight held Kaisan much to the uncle’s displeasure but had to agree because Kaisan might react violently if he is closer to the sirens and he had to look after MC. After that floor, just like the uncle said, MC didn’t have to do anything, she just slept while being held by the uncle and ate in the uncle’s arms and a week passed(no fluff since she just explained everything briefly after reaching the last floor, no details). Because she wanted to the uncle to hurry, he called his excitedly. The uncle frowned and said that this was rude, he told her to call him uncle. MC was so shocked she wondered if the ruins did something to his head but he was totally fine. The emperor interfered and asked MC to call him uncle or godfather. MC felt goosebumps (for some reason she is afraid of the emperor). She called the emperor uncle because she wanted him to stay away and MC’s uncle was obviously unhappy. MC called the uncle uncle. The uncle frowned (did he realize he wanted her to call him father???). MC felt unfair, he told her to call him uncle so she did, now he is angry at being uncle? They reach the artifact which was a crown on a throne. The artifacts rejected them all which was unheard of since the artifact must choose one of the challengers. The emperor pointed at MC and Kaisan and said they didn’t try. The uncle frowned and looked at MC who was sitting on the floor with Kaisan. He said they were children but the emperor wasn’t convinced. MC who was sure the artifact wouldn’t choose her thought that the uncle wanted her to try so that his son wouldn’t be hurt(when the artifact refuses someone, it electrifies that person strongly). Unexpectedly, the uncle called Kaisan and held him close to the crown but even Kaisan was refused. Finally, he held MC and told her to immediately take off her hand if she felt a spark. MC who was sure the crown wouldn’t choose her was shocked when there was no resistance (the artifact was what dragged her inside the ruins and was also the reason why sirens’ songs didn’t affect her.) (The reason she doesn’t want the artifact is because she doesn’t want to be a target, as anyone can have ownership of the artifact by killing the owner and MC has no way of protecting herself) The crown suddenly controlled MC into putting it on her head. MC tried to resist, suddenly, she felt as though her body was burning, even the uncle hissed at the pain of her body’s heat. MC was in pain and couldn’t move. The holy Knight told the uncle to put her on the throne since that is where the crown was. The uncle immediately put her on the throne and kept telling her that it would be all right. The crown controlled MC into speaking in the ancient language and saying to protect the ‘king’. MC wanted to cry since the words coming out of her mouth were all pronounced wrong (lol). The holy Knight translated what she was saying and everyone realized that it wasn’t MC who was talking but the artifact. Suddenly, shadows started appearing around them and they were all aiming for them. When MC saw one of the shadows, she realized what the weight of the crown meant, it meant how many people she killed for the sake of her purpose whither it was done directly or indirectly. The shadow MC recognized was her master who taught her black magic(he didn’t teach her properly, always beat her and starved her). The master she killed. There were too many shadows that kept coming until many hours passed while MC was in pain. Finally, when all the shadows were gone, the uncle went to MC’s side until the heat was gone. MC suddenly saw the world differently, she felt like she can see anything, do anything and reach anything. She could even see the uncle’s heart. She put up her hand and it went through the uncle’s chest. MC looked Bewilderedly at his face which didn’t change at all even though her hand was inside his chest. MC called him uncle and said she wanted to sleep. Unlike usual, when he held her she just snuggled to him and lost consciousness. The emperor kept telling the uncle to give MC to him saying that he would give him anything (since he realized how dangerous the power of the crown was). Kaisan interfered by saying that MC wasn’t an object. When the uncle kept refusing, the emperor even offered to make her the crown princess but the uncle still refused. The emperor commented about how she wasn’t deferent from a dead person as her name wasn’t registered but the uncle kept being silent *** After a week, the uncle came to MC and told her to call him father. MC touched his forehead and wondered if he hit his head. The uncle said he was completely fine and explained that he put her name in his family register which means that she was registered as his daughter. MC finally said that her father was Valian which made the uncle stop pushing her. Before leaving, he told MC to come to him if she needs help in anything. *** Later, MC’s uncle went to see the emperor while holding MC as he wants to see the powers of the crown. Later, MC was in a carriage going to the palace. MC called her uncle “Sharentt.” “....” “Sharentt.” “....” “Sharentt.” “...” “Uncle.” “Yes?” MC asked why she was going to the palace and he explained that the emperor wanted to see the power of the crown. the uncle suddenly asked her if she wanted to kill him when she entered her hand inside his chest. MC said she didn’t want to kill him, she didn’t know how to explain it. When he asked why she put her hand inside his chest, she answered it was because she was ‘seeing’ everything. The uncle didn’t ask any more questions. On their way inside the palace, they met a beautiful woman with red hair, MC stared at her in awe while the woman was angry at the uncle thinking that MC was his daughter then warned him that she wouldn’t let him off if this child’s mother who he would marry touches her son. MC finally realizes that this woman, Martina was Kaisan’s mother. Unexpectedly, instead of getting angry, the uncle talks to her with a very gentle voice and explains that MC is Valian’s daughter. Martina looked embarrassed for getting angry over nothing. The uncle says that Kaisan misses her and wants to see her. Martina says that Kaisan can always come visit her. Finally, the broke up as the uncle walked to meet the emperor. MC comments, Sharentt, you like her, right? So why did you divorce her? The uncle was silent and finally answered that he didn’t want to take away her freedom. Inside, the emperor told MC to attack him with the power of the crown. The uncle took out a box with crown inside. MC put the crown on and the world she sees changed. She controlled the shadows to attack the emperor and destroy him (I think the emperor in front of her was a fake? Mirror? Something like that) Suddenly, the emperor’s hidden guards attacked MC by throwing knives on her. The uncle protected MC and asked for an explanation from the emperor. The emperor apologized as the guards reacted too sensitively. But MC didn’t stop. She saw the guards as enemies, threats and ruthlessly attacked them with shadows and a strange feeling of pleasure arose as she was about to crush them. Suddenly, it turned dark. “Selena Crown.” The uncle covered MC’s eyes, took off the crown and put the pacifier inside her mouth(yeah, the pacifier is still there). MC was dazed and kept socking the pacifier. The emperor commented that MC’s eyes returned to normal, her eyes looked like a dead fish’s while wearing the crown. He commented that the artifact is too dangerous as it corrupts its owner. The uncle didn’t let MC touch the crown again and hid it in the box Spoiler: Dantalian MC suddenly woke up feeling cold. She saw vera unconscious which shocked her. She quickly checked her breath and was realized that she was still breathing. MC felt someone at the window. She saw a boy with purple eyes and was covering himself in a rope. The boy asked if she was Selena Crown. MC thought quickly and remembered what the uncle told her, if she needs help she can find him. MC quickly ran and used magic, she used magic to fly over the stairs and weirdly enough, no one came despite all the noise. MC shouted with all her might. “Sharentt!” The boy told her that he put everyone under a sleep spell. MC was dumbfounded, these are the crowns you know? There’s no way such a spell would work on them!. MC knew the crowns’ inhuman strength in the battlefield and knew how absurd they were. MC called again and again. “Sharentt!” The boy managed to restrained MC’s limbs with magic. One last time, MC shouted with all her might. “Sha!-ren!-tt!” Finally, lightning appeared and cut all the restraints. MC’s uncle was holding his artifact which was a lightning spear(artifacts can change shape depending on what the owner wants, the uncle usually has it as a ring). MC shouted at him for being late. The uncle held her and said that he would have come faster if she called him uncle. He defeated the boy and MC approached him because she felt that he was similar to a monster than to a human. What caught her attention was the mark on the boy’s wrist. It’s a mark only for experiment subjects in the tower. MC’s heart chilled. She was never interested in human experiments nor did she want the, the senate were the one who requested it and it would be done only on criminals. She only received some reports but never cared about them But the boy who looked 8 years old was obviously an experiment subject which means the senate were experimenting on innocent orphan children. The boy whose appearance was revealed by MC, suddenly looked at MC and smiled like a doll. He said that he likes MC’s smell and wants her. The uncle threatened him and asked who sent him. The boy said that his name is Dantalian and he was sent by the revolutionary. The boy, Dantalian suddenly disappeared. MC looked blankly and didn’t know what to do. The uncle suddenly held her and started walking. MC asked where are they going and the uncle answered they are going to his room, it’s better to stay with him than to risking having her disappeared in the morning while he wasn’t with her. While having MC wrapped in his arms, he told her to sleep. MC who was already tired from using magic to the limit immediately fell asleep defenselessly in his arms. *** MC’s uncle called the Knights’ captain and gave him a warning and that there is no second chance then ordered them to catch Dantalian and tighten the security so what happened today doesn’t happen again. After the Knights’ captain left, the uncle looked at the child in his arms. If he hadn’t woken up in time and saved her.... just the thought made his blood boil. The child who was usually vigilant was now sleeping defenselessly in his arms. The uncle thought it was funny. Just 2 years ago he was thinking of killing her but now that someone almost killed he couldn’t cool his rage. He didn’t want to admit that he liked this child. The child was stranger than Kaisan. She never asked for help and only relied on herself. Back in the ruins When she fell with the emperor, he was shocked to see her not reach out for help but directly took out a mana stone to save herself, not even thinking of asking for help. And the shadows in the last floor, he didn’t know any of them but he recognized 3. 1, the baroness. 2, the orphanage director. 3, the orphanage director’s son. They only thing similar between these 3 was that they were killed by this child. But then that doesn’t make sense as there was no way the child killed all the shadows that appeared. The uncle looked at MC. It was all her fault. If she didn’t run away that day and just went to the academy then she wouldn’t have caught his attention. She repeatedly made him make exceptions. From putting her name in the family register to catching her who ran away. “Selena Crown, I don’t know who you are or how you ended here but since you came into this family then don’t ever dream of getting out.” *** Dantalian entered a room. Asmodeus, who was drinking wine asked him how it was. Dantalian answered that Sharentt Crown interfered so he failed. Dantalian commented that it was amazing how MC was able to use magic despite her age and Asmodeus nodded. Dantalian asked asmodeus if he can have Selena. Asmodeus replied that he can have her after he is done with her. Then he suddenly mentioned that Melaine wanted to make her his disciple. *** Ever since that day, MC’s living environment improved greatly, she went to a new room with a lot of furniture and even started to eat with the crown family(when she originally thought that everyone just eats in their room). The uncle decided to give MC a teacher. The teacher was shocked since MC was able to read and calculate perfectly which made her go to talk to the uncle but the uncle decided not to hire her and look for the best teacher for MC. In the garden, MC gave the Vera a flower as a gift(some other servants saw that). Spoiler: Martina Martina visited the crown mansion. MC really liked Martina. When they were eating, MC was forced to eat vegetables. The uncle was really shocked when he heard that MC doesn’t eat vegetables so he started to make sure that she eats. Martina commented that MC looked really cute that she wanted to take her and raise her. MC called Martina mom. Martina froze and looked at the uncle, she asked if she can just take MC and the uncle replied that easing MC is too much of a hassle. Kaisan was eating vegetables to set a good example as an older brother to MC even though he hated vegetables too. The uncle suddenly said that there is strawberry jelly snack after, only for those who finished eating. MC suddenly raised two fingers and said 2 strawberry jelly and the uncle agreed. MC immediately finished the vegetables. 2 strawberry jellies were put in front of her. Suddenly, MC saw Martina hugging Kaisan and praising him for finishing the vegetables. The strawberry jelly didn’t taste sweet anymore. MC decided to leave to her room because she felt out of place when she was in front of them. MC had both of the strawberry jellies in hands and walked step by step to the stairs. On her way, the servants kept glancing at her, when she looked at them they immediately avoided looking at her as though the saw cockroaches (from MC’s POV) MC finally reached and started going step by step but finally fell. Someone immediately held MC and the strawberry jellies. “You really... you should look back at least once.” It was the uncle, he walked with MC in his arms and took her to her room. *** Martina feels guilty for not paying attention to MC she comments that MC looks lonely. She suddenly tells the uncle that she loves but hates the of him that pushes away anyone who he didn’t care about and that she was glad he was changing after watching his interaction with MC When MC was alone in the garden, she suddenly thought of the boy she saw. “Dantalian.” “Yes, Selena.” MC screamed in shock that Dantalian appeared out of nowhere. Dantalian said that he missed MC so he came to see her. MC was looking at the experiment tag on his wrist and Dantalian hid his hand. Dantalian suddenly called MC. “Hella.” MC was shocked. How did he know? How? Dantalian suddenly asked MC to take responsibility. While she was sleeping and eating in the tower he was suffering from experiments. MC felt guilty. Dantalian mentioned how Melaine has been copying her, suffering and regretting killing her. He finally asked MC to give him a blessing. A blessing was very important for a wizard. As hella, she never gave anyone a blessing not even her disciple, Melaine. By giving someone a blessing they become yours, you must protect them and they would protect you. She never wanted such a bond. In the end, she gave up and gave him a blessing. She wanted to cry as the ancient words coming out of her mouth became weirder and weirder the more she talked. Dantalian finally left and told MC to bless the “other guys” as well. MC decided to strengthen the magic barrier of the mansion and to stick to the crowns so that Dantalian doesn’t approach her. *** MC was in her grandfather’s office. Strangely, the office was filled with flowers today and the grandfather kept coughing. MC asked if he was sick and he said he was fine. She told him he should remove the flowers if they are affecting him. The grandfather looked sad and lonely. MC suddenly thought, no way. Did THAT Dasher Crown want a flower from her? No way right? .... MC decided to just give him one. The grandfather looked was trembling eyes at the flowers MC gave him and received them with tender hands. He suddenly asked MC if she likes him. MC answered him “No” which hurt him. She didn’t want to admit that she liked him, the one he likes is Selena, the child who died because of his mistake. The grandfather suddenly talks about MC’s father and mentions how he made a mistake that he can never correct. He loved his son, Valian yet he was stubborn and didn’t allow him to marry the commoner woman he loved and he never expected Valian to leave the family for her. That was the first time he saw the friendly and outgoing Valian angry. If he hadn’t made such a mistake, would Valian be alive now? MC held the grandfather’s hands and told him he shouldn’t drown himself in regret and to look forward. The grandfather looked sad as he told MC that he made her mature too quickly. MC didn’t know why maids suddenly became nicer to her and gave her a lot of snacks(she put them all in a box and called it the Pandora box) nor did she know why there were many flowers around the house. *** “Uncle! Where are you going?” The uncle froze at Mc’s call and told her he was going to his office. MC said she wanted to go too. The uncle told her to play in a corner and not bother him. The servant brought her favorite cookies, papers and colors to draw. MC knew that the servant wouldn’t have brought these things unless it was the uncle’s order. She started drawing more magic circle to strengthen the magic barrier. The uncle suddenly gave her something. She looked, it was a golden pacifier. He told her to use this instead of that old, dirty and smelly thing. MC tried that pacifier. It was heavier, didn’t fit in her mouth and didn’t make her feel relaxed. She returned the golden pacifier and put her old pacifier in her mouth. The uncle’s expression crumbled. After a small argument he told her to do whatever she wants. After MC finished more modifications on the magic Circle, she got up and heard the uncle telling her not to be late for dinner. *** At dinner, the crowns made a birthday party for MC. The uncle explained that her birthday was mentioned in the letter Valian gave to the aunt. This was the first time MC had a birthday, she didn’t have one even as Hella, she didn’t even know when it was. Everyone except the uncle sang her a happy birthday song. The grandfather gave her a group of pacifiers (diamonds, silver, cotton...etc) and the golden pacifier was there too. When MC looked at the uncle, he avoided looking at her. She wished he didn’t give it to her back then so that she can at least pretend to be happy with it. The uncle gave her a bracelet made of mana stones so she doesn’t have to carry a mana stone all the time and whispered to her, happy birthday. Finally, Kaisan was feeling shy and apologetic as he doesn’t have a lot of money like his father and grandfather so he can only give her a small gift with his allowance. MC looked at the gift which seemed to be a paper. She smiled at the thought that Kaisan wrote her a letter as a gift. But here smile shattered The gift was the ownership of a toy store. Since he didn’t know what she would like, he bought the whole store for her(he even did the negotiations himself). MC was speechless, is this how rich people celebrate birthdays? Kaisan urged her to blow the candles and make a wish. MC didn’t believe in folks like blowing candle in your birthday can make your wish come true but foe once, she made a wish.
Thanks for the spoilers but ngl that was unsatisfying as hell. They really never owned up to the original neglect and abuse they inflicted on her huh? I'm not shocked the mc was distrustful and there was little to no fluff. Who would honestly even want that from a family who abused a baby? Not me thats for sure. The idea of the story was good, but based on all the spoilers, it literally went no where. What a shame. And I have no sympathy for the grandfather and uncle who treated her life like a pet animal. When they don't want her, they diecard her, but when they feel they deserve affection, then they demand it. No thanks.

Spoiler: More of my opinion about this novel Honestly, the only reason I read this to the end was because I came to really like Sharentt (the uncle). his interactions with MC were the most fun yet most frustrating. I liked how he started changing for MC even though he was thoroughly an aristocrat. I focused on writing about Sharentt in more details compared to other characters. I understand that he was a s***ty uncle at first but he changed a lot through the plot and it wasn’t a sudden change but it was done step by step. still.... there wasn’t enough fluff the best father daughter fluff I read so far was “who made me a princess” and a novel that is being translated slowly(I read it to the end) “The Villain’s Precious Daughter” there is more but nothing comes to mind right now.... Spoiler: 5 years old Spoiler: Chaser 2 years have passed and MC completed the magic barrier. Since her birthday, MC has been avoiding the crowns. When the uncle realized that she was avoiding him, he stopped approaching her. On the other hand, Kaisan never tired, always coming to her, searching for her and giving her her favorite snacks so she won’t just leave. MC became close to the Knights as she needed to touch them in order to let them use mana inside the barrier. After making adjustments to the barrier, it’s now impossible to use mana inside the barrier unless the person was given permission by MC. There was also a light curse causing headache and like if the person entering the mansion has bad intentions. MC needs to touch their hand in order to give permission. A new Knight with red hair was assigned. MC touched his hand to give him permission. The Knight introduced himself as Chaser, 15 years old. *** At the garden, while MC was sitting under a tree, Chaser approached her and said that she really became small. MC was confused but soon realized that Chaser was also a fellow experiment subject like Dantalian. Chaser exposed his neck where there was a serial number. MC noticed that there were many marks of Chaser’s flesh being cut open then sewn back together. Chaser asked MC to give him a blessing like she did with the leader(Dantalian) and she did, this time the ancient words are at least understandable (her pronunciation improved but she still lisps a little). Chaser shows MC the ability he gained from the experiments which was making black mana by killing anything and gives the black mana to MC to make her stronger. The stronger she becomes, the faster they are freed. Chaser tells MC ‘that bastard’ (he means Melaine) sent him on a mission here to kidnap MC since he wants to make MC his disciple. MC asks how old Chaser is, Chaser says he is 13 which shocked MC and made her realize that the experiments made his body age faster. He then tells her more about what happened in the tower after her death which made MC a little depressed. (I don’t remember what he told her). *** MC decided to visit her grandfather to ask for something. On her way, she saw Kaisan who was coming back from his training. He smiled at MC and talked about how she was cute, small and weak. He asked where she was going, when he heard that she was going to see his grandfather, he told MC that he will go shower and finish in 5 minutes and go see her at her grandfather’s office. Kaisan asked a nearby maid in a cold manner to see MC to the grandfather’s office. MC thought that Kaisan is resembling his father more and more and he understands that she doesn’t want to be helped so he told the maid to see her rather than help her. On the way, MC told the maid she doesn’t have to escort her. The maid wanted to insist but MC refuses, she believed that even though the maids stopped bullying her since she was 3, they still hate her. The maid swore that everyone loves her and they are sorry for what they did in the past but MC doesn’t believe her and thinks that the is doing this so that she doesn’t lose her job (from what I read ahead there was no mention of MC’s misunderstanding being solved). MC went to the grandfather’s office. The grandfather said that it has been a while since he saw her. He told MC to drink tea and eat snacks in the room. The servants moved many boxes in front of MC which were filled with toys that a child would love from 3 to 5 years old which meant that these toys kept piling up because MC avoided the grandfather and he had no chance to give them to her. The grandfather mentioned that there were many boxes of mana stones piling up because he didn’t get to see MC. MC felt sad and at the same time happy as she held a rattle from the toys box. Kaisan came and they ate together. In the end she never got to ask the grandfather what she wanted from him. *** MC was sucking her pacifier secretly (yeah, it’s still there) because some maids commented that maybe MC needs to see a doctor since it’s strange that she kept a pacifier even now. MC kept thinking that the pacifier was actually like a healthy drug. After she finished she turned around and was shocked to see the uncle looking at her. What she likes about the uncle is that he never crossed the line she made. As she greeted him, she also said goodbye and tried to leave. The uncle called her to have some tea with her to talk about something. The uncle walked to a table with MC’s favorite snacks. MC sat down and looked at the snacks, they were things she came to love over these 2 years which mean that the uncle kept track of what she likes even though they don’t talk much. The uncle tells MC that she can now start learning from the teacher he told her about on her 3rd birthday. MC was surprised he still remembers and kept his promise. The uncle got up and MC asked if he has something else to say. The uncle asks back if there was something. MC bites her lips and says that she is going to leave in 2 years. The uncle’s mood turns bad and tells MC he already told her before, the moment she became a crown, she can never leave. *** MC’s teacher turns out to be the empress. The emperor deeply loves the empress but the empress is sick and very weak which was why it took 2 years for him to agree to letting the empress teach MC. MC heard rumors that the empress and the emperor hated each other at first. MC was shocked when she found out that the uncle made the empress her teacher. The empress was actually a wizard and she helped in making the wizards’ reputation better so MC has a good impression of the empress. MC realized that the cause of the empress’ sickness is that she was born with too much mana for a baby to handle so the mana paths entangled a lot and when she became older, she couldn’t control her mana at all due to that and now she is like a bomb and might die in 1 year at most. MC asks the empress to teach her everything, economy, commerce, politics... etc. MC as Hella wasn’t educated and made a lot of mistakes and suffered a lot because of that. She wanted to use this chance to learn everything she can. *** MC suddenly decided to have Chaser as her escort because she was worried he would do something to the crowns while she wasn’t looking. She went to the uncle’s office. The uncle said it has been years since he saw a certain someone here. MC wants to retort they haven’t known each other for that long (they met 4 years ago). He asked MC what she wants. MC tells him she wants Chaser as an escort Knight. The uncle refuses by saying that she can pick anyone but Chaser. They argued a little more. MC asked why he was so much against chaser being her escort but he didn’t answer. The uncle sighed and frowned at MC as She approached him suddenly and hung him leg and shook it. MC knew well that he answers her well when she does that. She thinks that he answers her because he hates her touching him. The uncle tells her that he has only completed 20% investigation on Chaser and there are many suspicious points about him and he can’t leave her safety to him. MC was amazed at her uncle’s intuition as she knew Melaine was a thorough person yet he couldn’t deceive the uncle completely. “Selena." MC’s uncle's voice was slightly low. He raised the tip of his lips but his voice sank. He asked MC if chaser told her to make him her escort Knight and MC immediately denied. The uncle told her not to raise his doubts towards Chaser more and that he would assign another Knight to her. MC refused because if it wasn’t Chaser then it’s nothing more than a shackle. The uncle told her to get out if that is all there is. MC thought about what children would usually do. MC ends up throwing a tantrum while lying on the floor. MC’s uncle immediately got up and walked to her. MC screamed that it has to be Chaser. She had to take him out of the Knights before the uncle finds anything suspicious and kills him, she can’t let a person she blessed die like this. The uncle called MC’s name a few times but MC ignored him. Finally, MC saw him looking rarely embarrassed. MC hugged his leg which resulted in him freezing and used her last card. “I won’t do it.” The uncle’s eyes shook. He seemed to look forward to what she was going to say. “I won’t come anymore.” The uncle’s lips twisted up as his eyes turned cold. She told him she would just live quietly as though she was died and won’t cause trouble and that she would never ask him another favor and this is the last one. With every word she said, the uncle’s face got darker. He said that she has always a way to put a person’s mood in the floor. "I'm telling you for sure because you seem to misunderstand every time," said the uncle in a voice full of irritation. The uncle suddenly held MC up and walked to his desk. He put her on his desk and sat in front of her. MC felt uncomfortable with the direct eye contact. She tried to go down but the uncle grabbed her wrist. It didn’t hurt but she couldn’t get out. He tells MC that he is worried about her. MC’s heart shook. She kept telling herself that he didn’t cross the line just to comfort herself as in reality, he has long crossed the line and she just kept drawing another line each time to deceive herself. MC asked, why? “Because I care about you.” “Sharentt!” MC stopped calling him uncle but the uncle didn’t stop. “That means I can’t pretend not to know what you are doing anymore. I don’t want to wait and see you walk down the thorny path. I don’t know what makes you keep thinking of leaving the house and not being noticed.” It's cold, but the grip on her wrist was not coercive. Even though he had the ability to kill or force her to obey at once, he never used violence against her. He was deferent from her master and the senate. “You cannot escape the Crown family without my permission. If you have an accident, hit it here and make a problem, make it here. If you think about me who cares about you, don't say that again.” “...” “It's not like you don't like me." Finally he let go of her wrist. She wanted to run away right away but she didn’t. Yet, she couldn’t help but feel unfair. “Didn’t uncle hate me?” “I did.” “Then why!” “I thoroughly push what I don't like out of my domain.” “...” “In the ruins.... when i said I would protect you, you said you won’t to anything I hate.” MC was speechless, that was a temporary alliance! “If you are a member of the Clown family, keep your promise. I’m worried about you leaving. Yeah, in other words, you can say I don't like it." The uncle smirked as if She had an unfair look on her face. “That was a short alliance! You idiot, uncleee!" The uncle’s expression became subtle. He tilted his head obliquely, and with the tip of his index finger, he tapped an the armrest a few times. He asked if she really wanted Chaser as an escort and she nodded. “Just in time I had a favor to ask of you.” “Favor?” “If you say yes, you'll find out sooner or later. It's conditional, but I'll let him escort you." MC agreed. Spoiler: The maze. Turned out, the favor the uncle was talking about was participating in a competition for parents and their children. MC said the uncle wasn’t her parent. The uncle replied that he is her father in the family register and she might as well just call him father. MC immediately refused. MC was with the uncle as they were about to start. She cursed the emperor in hear head for creating such an event. Martina came with Kaisan to cheer for them. Martina asked MC why she wouldn’t come see her and the uncle commented that MC was even avoiding him. MC avoided looking at her and thought that she felt weird when she was there and the strawberry jelly didn’t taste delicious for some reason. The maze was actually something MC made as Hella but there were many changes she didn’t know. She made it so the difficulty was adjusted to each participant’s strength. The uncle explained that one of the parents goes with the child to ensure that nothing bad happens to them. Each participant would be in a different space so they won’t meet each other. Also, everything that is happening is shown live to the crowd. At the first floor, there would 2 doors. One leads for a harder difficulty and the other leads to an easier difficulty(it depends on luck). The 1st floor. There was a room filled with toys and a big rabbit in front of 2 locked doors. MC beat up the rabbit and tied his ears together and asked him for the location of the keys. The uncle ended up laughing while watching her which made MC hate the rabbit more. The rabbit showed her the location of the key. MC couldn’t reach the keyhole so she looked for something to stand on. The uncle’s expression darkened and he took the key from her. Just then, the rabbit was angry and stomped the floor which lead to the collapse of 1 door. MC realized that the remaining door leads to a higher difficulty. The uncle opened the door. Floor 2, maze. Luckily MC knew this maze’s structure and quickly moved. Over time, her legs started hurting and the uncle asked her many time if she wants him to hold her and she refused. She was obsessed with winning and not relying on him which the uncle noticed. At the end of the maze, there was small griffin. MC climbed on it and stabbed it. When the griffin died, it left behind a jewel and MC picked it. Floor 3, fear. It projected the participant’s deepest fear. What MC saw was a fake uncle. MC’s real uncle was dumbfounded. The fake uncle attacked but the real uncle protected her. The fake uncle said the words she was afraid of the most. Selena, you lied, you useless, die. At first, MC picked up a crossbow and pointed it toward the fake uncle as he kept saying hurtful words. She couldn’t fire the arrow. The real uncle told her he could help her if she can’t but MC refused. After making up her mind, she fired at the fake uncle and the fake uncle turned into a jewel. MC picked it up and noticed that the uncle’s face was dark. She asked him if he was angry but he said he wasn’t. Floor 4, truth garden. They heard an announcement saying that their closeness was calculated to be 8,79% which was really low for a parent and child. They must ask each other questions and answer truthfully. When answered truthfully, flowers, trees, animals, anything a garden needs would start appearing. When lying, a monster would appear and destroy the garden. There was a long, long silence between MC and the uncle. Finally, MC asked. “Uncle, are you angry?” “No.” A monster appeared and destroyed the nonexistent garden. MC looked at the uncle in disbelief and shouted about how he was dishonest. The uncle looked embarrassed and threw a sword at the monster, killing it in one hit. There was silence. MC started asking again non private things like his favorite food, flower and he was asking her similar questions. MC has long given up on getting first place and was sitting next to the uncle under a tree. The garden was almost completed and MC was out of questions. MC would have slept more if the emperor hadn’t called her. *** The emperor was enraged as he shouted at MC because he found out she gave poison to the empress. He threatened the uncle when he protected MC but the uncle didn’t care. The emperor called MC a black witch and said hurtful words. What made the emperor so agitated was because the empress was waking up and was sleeping as though she was died. MC said that there was no physical problem with the empress which was true and said that in 1 month, the empress would become completely healthy and not suffer from her illness anymore. On the way back, the uncle was silent. He just asked MC why she didn’t tell him but she didn’t reply, she thought that he wouldn’t believe her if she told him about the poison’s effect *** MC was alone in her room, she didn’t know what to do now, the final step of curing the empress is having a wizard organize her mana paths. But MC couldn’t because she didn’t have enough mana. MC took the communication tool and dialed a number. A person she knew appeared and she was looking at MC from the screen in bewilderment. I kinda like this story. It doesn't white-wash the characters. Unlike normal family stories, abandonment has reasons (all of them stupid) and it usually makes me go bonkers coz it's such a fleeb reason and suddenly everyone accepts it and the family is good/ great/ loving etc. In this one, the uncle (true psychopath) accepts that he is nuts, that he is wrong and that he has main role in killing the original Selena. While it is obviously very wrong, the story summary does say he is a nutty psychopath. Why would you expect a nutty psychopath to be a great/ kind/ compassionate father? Even with MC, the only reason he is interested in her/ loves her is coz she is actually an 'adult' inside a toddler and her maturity + obvious strength shows through. If she tried acting cute (like those many transmigrated into a child stories), he would have killed her too. Btw, I didn't understand the power system. So holy knights use holy power. MC is black magician using black magic. So what does the uncle use? And what does vertical eyes denote?

It’s forbidden because the normal wizard who absorbs black mana would become stronger a lot but would go crazy as his body won’t be able to bear the burden. Black mana isn’t a natural power which makes it the exact opposite from holy power which is received from those who believe in god. aura exists when someone practices a lot and its source is mana but it isn’t magic. In other words, Knight who practiced a lot can turn their mana into aura and it can increase and get stronger with practice you are welcome, I totally get it, I also thought that it would be a heart warming story but.... there isn’t a lot of fluff... That means you've become more adjusted to black mana," Every human is born with a common mana. But she forcibly changed that mana to black mana to be strong. And it continued to increase and increase. It's not surprising to say that her constitution has changed. 'P “If you kill anything, you will absorb the black mana. Even if you don’t want to.” "So do you mean I should live like a saint for the rest of my life?" That’s hell in hell. The uncle suddenly lifted the corners of his lips in a smile. Asmodeus' frowned. "Yeah, I have to protect you. Whose niece are you?" “Okay? Let's go," MC said, extending her arms towards her uncle. "Hug me." Experience told her, walking in the forest with her short legs would eventually lead to her legs being in pain so She asked for a hug. “Hahaha," Asmodeus held MC in his arms while the uncle was dazed. “What ?!” “Duke of Duralea.” The uncle's voice was filled with displeasure. "I'll take good care of you, just in case your mana goes out of control" He told MC, dismissing the uncle lightly. ‘What the hell are these guys doing between me?’ Asmodeus said that MC is absorbing black mana like sponge, even if she doesn’t kill monsters, black mana would still head towards her. He told her that he could absorb it so it doesn’t go to her. MC was finally convinced. “I'll be here, uncle.” “Selena Crown.” He called her with a frown on his face. "No, but please stay by my side. I don't trust this guy. And I'm going to lose control of my mana if black mana continues to be absorbed in me like that." The uncle kept his mouth shut as though he wasn’t completely convinced. "Yes, Duke Crown. I'll take over this child in the woods." As soon as Asmodius finished speaking, he began to move. Dantalian followed closely next to him. "I wanted to hold hands. too bad that isn’t possible now, Selena," Dantalian said with a gentle smile. Over his shoulder, Kaisan had a discontented expression. It was the beginning of a truly uncomfortable accompaniment. Spoiler: In the woods Spoiler: Crossroads. MC couldn’t understand. Why did black mana go toward her every time a monster was killed? The only reason she was fine was because Asmodeus kept absorbing any mana that headed toward her. Asmodeus explained. Using a metaphor with MC as a sponge. If the sponge was soaked in black int for a long time, then the sponge was washed and squeezed clean, can you say that the sponge was the same as new? The answer was no, MC already absorbed black mana once and all her mana turned into black mana. Even though Evelyn took away all that black mana, allowing MC to become a normal wizard, she wasn’t that same as when she never absorbed black mana. Asmodeus explained that there were 2 solutions. 1, have another black wizard absorb the black mana that was gathered inside her body. 2, train to become able to prevent the black mana from entering her body. MC asked how to do the second solution. Asmodeus said that she would need to train for some years and that he would help her. Their conversation turned to talking that a normal wizard can’t accept black mana quickly. MC couldn’t understand that. Back when she was Hella, it took only 2 weeks to get used to black mana(she suffered from fever and pain until her body accepted it). Asmodeus was silent for sometime before he finally opened his mouth. It took him 3 years to get used to black mana. MC was shocked and couldn’t believe that. Asmodeus then that MC must have been exposed to an environment with heave black mana before she became a black wizard. MC couldn’t remember anything about that. Asmodeus pointed that MC must have went through that when she was a baby. Then, he asked MC what was her earliest memory. Six years old? Seven years old? She didn't remember before that. The memory of just wandering around and being called a witch. That may be the first memory. But She didn't want to talk about it. Her first memory. Deep in the western forest, which later became a ruin. As far as she can remember, it was also the first ruins she discovered. MC then realized that this wasn’t normal. She suddenly remembered that Asmodeus asked her if she knew about that ruins. "Because I buried my child there." "...... buried?" “Yes, buried." The uncle said that they should divide in 2 groups and reached out to hold MC. MC hesitated but eventually thought that Asmodeus needed a break from absorbing black mana and that she can practice blocking the black mana from entering her. “I don't want to let her go, Duke Crown.” “That's my niece. I won't stand still, Duke Durale." “It's obvious that I'll be more helpful than you." “Should we fight?” The uncle held his artifact(which is usually in the form of a bracelet on his wrist) and turned it into a spear, threatening Asmodeus. Then asmodeus said they should just let MC choose. You crazy people, MC thought. MC looked at Asmodeus with a ridiculous look, and She look at her uncle with a look asking for help. but her uncle was staring at her. As if asking her to make a choice as Asmodeus said, who seems absurd and spontaneous in everything. MC’s stomach was about to turn upside down. Spoiler: Kerberos. In the end, MC chose to go right with everyone because she felt slightly cold from there. She decided to beat up Kerberos, the one responsible for having her go in this uncomfortable situation. The problem was the poisonous air. MC, asmodeus and Dantalian were somewhat immune to it due to black mana. (MC because she had black mana before). The uncle wasn’t affected much due to his artifact. The only one vulnerable was Kaisan. It was only when MC called Kaisan’s name that the uncle noticed Kaisan’s pale face. He immediately took off the artifact and put it on Kaisan’s wrist. Kaisan tried to refuse but the uncle didn’t listen and held Kaisan’s hand firmly. Parents are just like that. It was strange to give up their life for their child without any care. Her uncle may be a little lacking in some aspects, but he definitely loved his family and gave them the best. Asmodeus stared at the uncle and Kaisan then moved his eyes to MC. MC asked him what he was looking at, Asmodeus changed the topic by saying that they should keep going. As they walked, they finally saw a space where there was a big white tree and the air and trees around it were completely purified. When they reached there, Kaisan finally looked fine. At the center of the white tree was a black crystal. Asmodeus let MC down. MC saw a small tombstone. Dantalian asked MC what was written on the tombstone. MC saw strange drawings/symbols and said she didn’t know. Dantalian teased MC by saying that she didn’t know everything. MC got irritated and said, the symbols were unintelligent. Then, they heard a voice from the black crystal, saying how dare MC say that about his writings. (The voice was talking arrogantly). "Selena, come here. It's dangerous there." “What are you talking about, it's better to come over here than over there." "Duke Duralea, it seems you are asking for a fight." MC touched the black crystal and some of the remnants of the black mana inside her got absorbed inside the black crystal. The voice talked crazily about MC’s black mana being delicious. Then there was an earthquake and the Crystal broke. A huge black dog with 3 heads appeared. A ring fell and rolled on the floor. The problem was that another giant black foot fell on top of it. At this point MC had no choice but to look back. She had to admit it. This is her accident. She turned back carefully and as gentle as She could. The uncle and the others were silent. At least, Asmodeus was laughing as though it was fun. "You know, uncle. I heard kids grow up making small mistakes and making cute accidents." As soon as She was finished, the black dog with three necks cried in a loud voice that caused another earthquake. Kerberos. It is a legendary monster with three heads. A monster that has never been seen before but is passed down only in literature. It is said to be so huge that a city can be destroyed in an instant. The uncle and Asmodeus were arguing again. Kerberos told MC that he would give her the honor of being his loyalist and that if she becomes his loyalist, he would make her the king of humans. MC asked if there were any other benefits. [What do you mean other benefits? What else do you need besides the honor of being king?] "No, I honestly don't care about being a king. And honor doesn’t matter because I’m a princess.” [The beautiful gold and silver treasures of the world will pour down on you.] “My uncle can give me these.” [.... I can give you the most noble jewel in the world.] “I'll get it for you, Selena.” “If the Crown Duke doesn't have the ability, I'll get it for you." Dantalian and Asmodeus said. "I can get it for you in a week." “Yes, or I'll buy it for you!" MC had a headache when Her uncle and Kaisan joined. MC told Kerberos to get her something else. [I, I will protect you, you won't be beaten by humans. You can be the strongest.] “I'm strong enough to not be beaten by an ordinary human being." The 3 heads started arguing with each other. MC paused when she heard one head call another by ‘middle’. MC asked if each head had a name and they were ‘right’, ‘middle’ and ‘left’. Kerberos was shocked and asked MC how she knew. MC was sure, even though Kerberos was an intelligent monster.... it was still stupid. MC started provoking Kerberos like telling him to become her pet and she would feed him. In the end, Kerberos was so enraged he decided to just kill MC and the others. Poisonous Black fog started appearing around Kerberos. Kaisan and Dantalian quickly drew their swords and cut Kerberos on both legs. The swords did not dig deep, but blood did not flow from the open wound. Rather, poison was flowing out of the wound. Dantalian narrowed his forehead and KaiSan quickly backed off reflexively. He was as fast as a sensitive animal. MC noticed that Kerberos didn’t move from his place ever since he appeared. She started provoking Kerberos with her words again by saying that he was weaker than she thought. Kerberos was more enraged as poison began corroding His surroundings. Everything around him was corroded by poison except the white ring under his forefoot. MC thought that the ring must be the artifact and that it was the thing that sealed Kerberos all this time. MC kept provoking Kerberos when her uncle suddenly asked her what she was thinking. 'I'll tell him after I succeed. He won't believe me or listen to me anyway.’ She turned her head thinking naturally and suddenly looked back at her uncle again. ‘No, I decided not to do that.' (Remember, she always did things secretly like the barrier and what she did with the empress which greatly disappointed the uncle because she didn’t tell him.) “I, I want to get that ring. The one he is stepping on," The uncle nodded at her words. Then he took out the spear made of the artifact. He told MC that he would attract Kerberos’ attention. MC was surprised he believed her right away. The uncle immediately started fighting Kerberos. MC quickly took the ring and put it on her finger. Kerberos’ body started getting smaller until it become the size of a puppy. Kerberos’ started barking instead of talking. MC was embarrassed, and the others were probably embarrassed, and Kerberos himself seemed embarrassed. The 3 heads become 1. He looked like an ordinary, black puppy. Even his howls sounded cute. Kerberos tried talking but he was lisping. Hearing him lisping made MC feel unpleasant as she remembered her black history. “Uncle!” “What?” “Is this animal abuse?” MC grabbed Kerberos from his legs. Kerberos screamed and struggled in vain. “It’s not ‘animal’, it is ‘monster’.” The uncle said in a cold voice. "Can I throw this away? I think we can just bury it in the ground." “Do whatever you want.” Suddenly, a hold appeared under MC. Dantalian, who was closest to her managed to grab her and fell with her. Spoiler: Prison for sinners. MC found herself in a strange place with Dantalian and Kerberos. MC asked Kerberos how to go out but Kerberos said no one can get out once they enter. Kerberos told them that whoever manages to reach the end of the path in front of them would have their wish granted. MC went through the path with Dantalian and Kerberos. It turned out that the path shows the person who walks on it their nightmare. MC saw and heard the people she killed while Dantalian saw and heard the children who died with him in the experiments. Dantalian grabbed MC’s hand and said he is fine as long as she is with him. At the end, they saw a white ‘person’ sitting on a throne. MC realized that the white man was frighteningly strong and he might even be a god. MC told him to let them get out. The man said that only ‘sinners’ can enter this place and that MC and Dantalian must sacrifice someone if they want to get out. MC said she would sacrifice Kerberos. The man said it wasn’t possible because someone already used Kerberos as a sacrifice. It turned out, Kerberos raised a baby human and that human betrayed him and used him as a sacrifice. The man said MC had many sins, she was born died, her mother made a deal with a devil and sacrificed her own soul and died in order to bring MC back to life. MC’s father thought that the mother was deceived as MC wasn’t back to life and buried MC. What he didn’t know was, first, it took the devil sometime to bring her back to life. Second, the place he buried her was above a ruins, a place where there is a corrupted artifact, full of corrupted spirits, were buried. Because of that, the promise of the devil was kept late. The corrupted spirits revived MC’s heart. (Remember, ruins are sealed underground and they appear aboveground after the power of the seal is exhausted.) MC got irritated and started provoking the man. She said that he was also a sinner. The man asked what MC meant. MC said, the man said that only sinners can enter this place and he is here which means he was a sinner too. The man tried to get up but white chains prevented him from doing so. The man said MC was right, he was locked up here because he annihilated the dragon race which had potential to become gods. MC remembered Evelyn and asked him why he did that. The man said that he simply didn’t like them. MC was dumbfounded. The man said that in order to get out, he needs to punish 1,000 sinners or be released by a human who had no sins which was impossible because only sinners can come here. Then, he said he would punish MC’s blood(he means direct relative like parents or children.) MC said she had no blood(the Crowns don’t count, her biological parents as Selena are both died.) The man said MC’s father who buried her was alive and committed many taboos. He said he has only 5 years left to live and that he would put a curse on him so that his soul comes here when he dies. MC didn’t notice Dantalian‘s face becoming pale. The man opened a portal and told MC she can leave now. MC took Kerberos and left with Dantalian. Spoiler: Uncle is my dad. MC went to another tea party. Fortunately, this time, all the ladies were friendly with her. The reason she was her was because of what her uncle said after they came back from the hunting contest. [it`s okay for you to just stay at home. You don't have to go to tea parties.] MC felt sorry when he said that and decided to try attending another tea party. It turned out all the ladies present were Crown family fans. They started showing portraits they drew which were unbelievably realistic and from different ages. What shocked her the most was that there was even a portrait of her as a child(I’m not sure if there was one.) After some talking, the ladies asked MC to pose for them so they can draw her and took out drawing tool(they were prepared). MC was so scared of the passion in their eyes that she ended up not saying anything. *** Back to the mansion, MC felt stiff for not moving for hours. She made sure to write down the names of the ladies she met today so that she never goes to the same tea party. She vowed to never go to that mansion again. *** 2 weeks later, the uncle came to MC’s bedroom and told her that a few portraits were delivered. “Throw them away.” “Do I just throw them away?” “Yes.” “Hum.” The uncle nodded. “...” “...” The uncle suddenly talked about asmodeus and that he and Dantalian are staying in the capital. MC suddenly talked. “I was confessed to.” “What?” “Confession.” “What confession? Tell me who was it.” asked the uncle with a look of displeasure. “Tell me who was it.” “Dantalian.” “He must be mad as hell." It made MC laugh to see the fierce look on the face of her uncle. MC suddenly asked the uncle, what is love. The uncle ended up talking about how he first met Martina, how they met the second time and he fell in love with her. MC asked who is hanging on who. The uncle said with a sad face the he was the one hanging on Martina and that Martina never hanged on him. The uncle said he was going now. MC asked him as a joke, when is the second child going to be born? The uncle answered, The second is already here. "Huh, Martina, is she pregnant? You brute uncle!" MC jumped up and threw her pillow at her uncle. The pillow fell on the floor with a dull sound. “......you brute!” His cool eyes made her swallow her saliva. ‘No matter how hard it is, you haven't remarried yet!’ “What if Kaisan learns about this?” “About this?” His voice was gloomy. MC was scared even though he just picked up the pillow that fell on the floor and walked towards her one step at a time. "No······, a person should have a conscience ……. They travelled by carriage and he confessed to her again and asked for her hand in marriage and MC refused. Shabel(the homunculus)was finally completed and Asmodeus helped her a lot with that and Kant(butler) is teaching Shabel to become a butler. Kaisan suddenly asked if she would like to see her parents as Hella if they were alive. MC felt annoyed because he already asked this many times and told Dantalian seriously, she didn’t want to meet them, they abandoned her and she thinks it’s better if they lived without knowing anything about her. Dantalian said that Asmodeus wanted to see her. Ever since she was 12, she would meet asmodeus from time to time and he would always hold her hand and absorb the black mana that gathered inside her. Now, MC can block the black mana from entering her body. Dantalian said that Asmodeus wasn’t in a good health. MC couldn’t believe that. She knew that he was a black wizard so he must be suffering due to black mana like she did as Hella but it was hard to believe, the Asmodeus in her memory was always strong, not someone who could fall. Spoiler: Visiting Asmodeus. MC went to Dantalian’s mansion which strangely had no servants. Kerberos ran to MC and acted like a real dog and even begged MC to take him from this house of demons. Dantalian called Kerberos once. Kerberos immediately called MC ‘master’ and begged her. Dantalian went to see Asmodeus. Kerberos asked, don’t humans live with their families? MC said that’s true. Kerberos asked then why is she not living with asmodeus? MC couldn’t understand what he was saying. Kerberos said that Asmodeus was obviously her father, was she pretending not to know. MC froze. Memories started appearing in her head. No way. Asmodeus entered and gave MC some snacks. MC said the snack were pretty. Asmodeus said he would make it next time. MC shook her head and told him not to. Asmodeus told MC he was going back to his territory. After some chatting, MC got up. Standing in front of the door, she told Asmodeus she always wanted to kill her parents if she ever met them. MC felt conflicted because mean words kept leaving her mouth even though she didn’t want to say that. She asked Asmodeus when he was going back. Asmodeus evaded her question then suddenly started talking. "I had a daughter. And I did a great sin to her. My wife was originally weak. SHe became much weaker with the baby. The child had a strong mana because of my blood. A fetus with strong mana takes away the energy of its parents. It was too much for my weak wife. That's why many of the children born as natural wizards became orphans." MC felt as if she had been beaten heavily on the back of her head. She never knew that. “I had to choose. Who am I going to save, the unborn child or the person I love?” “.......... so?” MC barely controlled her feelings. “I decided to save my wife. When I told her that, my wife refused. That was something I never thought of.” MC forgot to breath. Dantalian quickly helped her and she started breathing again. “She was obsessed with starting a family. I persuaded her every day, hoping to kill the child.” “...” "But she gave birth to the baby. It was a premature birth." MC took a long breath. Asmodeus’ face seemed a little tired now, “The was born dead. According to the doctor, the child died a long time ago.” Listening to this story was harder than MC thought. Was it her story or someone else’s story? If it was her story then should she laugh or cry? “My wife was shocked and disappointed, then started practicing black magic with my black magic books.” “She was a normal person?” (She is asking if the wife wasn’t a wizard) “Yes, it was obvious. SHe summoned the devil with her own blood. And made a wish. She asked the devil to save the child. In return, it ate my wife's soul. My daughter didn’t come back to life and I buried my wife with her." He looked at MC, “My wife is dead. My child is dead, too." He was adamant. "I'm not going to see her since I sinned against her. May the child be happy somewhere." He smiled quietly. It somehow looked as precarious as the last leaf on a midwinter tree. “That's all." “.... are you going to die?” “It has long been decided that I was going to die.” He seemed relaxed. "So no matter what happens, there's no reason for you to look like that," "I······." “You don't have to feel guilty or responsible." She couldn't say anything. All She could do was just bite her lips and shut her mouth. “I told you not to look like that.” He said with a smile as if he were somehow embarrassed. “Are you afraid I'm going to die?” “I am Worried. Wouldn't you be worried if I told you I was going to die?" "I’ll be worried. And would want to revive you somehow." " “Me too·····!" “But don't try to revive me even if I die." MC couldn’t say anything. “Let’s do this, Once a month, I'll write a letter to you." “What?" “Didn't you say you didn't want me to die? It was very painful, very sad, and very heartbreaking to cry for someone. *** Dantalian went to see Asmodeus. Asmodeus was coughing blood. Dantalian asked why Asmodeus lied. Asmodeus said that MC needs time to accept a person’s death. (Apparently, Asmodeus doesn’t have much time left as he was supposed to die long ago as the white man said but he tried his best to extend his life even by 1 year. He is going to write some letters for MC before he dies and have Dantalian send them to her every month, giving her the illusion that he was still alive so that she can accept his death with time.) Spoiler: Let’s get engaged. Dantalian went to visit MC again before he went back with Asmodeus to the territory in order to inherit the title. MC asked him a few questions to make sure he really loves her and wasn’t confusing love with admiration. MC told him that her family is the most important thing for her. She has many secrets and he knows them all and she trusts him. She told him she would like to give it a try and told him, let’s get engaged. Dantalian was happy but then asked MC what the Crowns would do. MC was silent for sometime then said that if she wants to do something then they can’t stop her. Dantalian then told MC that she promised, he would be back in a year and they would get engaged. Then, all of a sudden, Dantalian kissed MC on her lips. Dantalian’s dace was completely red and her face was probably red too. He told her he wouldn’t do this to someone he only admires and told her goodbye. MC felt funny since he looked like he was running away. MC grabbed him quickly and told him she would write to him every day and he should write back whenever he can. MC finally told him to properly get permission next time(to kiss her). Dantalian looked embarrassed and kissed her again. Dantalian left and MC was covering her face in embarrassment. Spoiler: Remarriage. MC and Kaisan went to see the uncle and Martina after the marriage ceremony. "Congratulations, Martina. Un.... dad." MC still felt embarrassed to call him dad. It was the same for her uncle as he sometimes replies quite late to her. MC took out 2 bracelets. "This is a gift. I had it processed, but I thought giving matching bracelets would be better since you would be wearing the marriage rings.” “Matching bracelets?” “Yes, it's a family bracelet.” MC fastened one on her uncle’s wrist. IMAGINE, ignoring a child who's ONLY less than a year old in a cold room, neglecting her, not giving her food, wanting to KILL her(well lol, actually they already killed the original baby, fucking murderers) all the sufferings they caused a poor child who could not even stand, and they DIDN'T give her food for 2 weeks. That bitchy uncle KNEW that the maids were not giving her food, and he also KNEW that she was crawling with BLOODy knees because she was finding food on her own. But what did he DO? NOTHING, that bastard did absolutely nothing, i am flabbergasted. I am sooooo into that kind of storys too especially when there are older brothers too So you should read ( the baby raising a devil) for sure. It’s full of super fluffy moments that will warm your heart, not to mention that the mc is awesome. If you know other story with this genre plz tell me, i would really appreciate it. And btw thx for all the spoilers. I really wanted to see how the story will go cuz it had interesting beginning but only 14 eng chaps has been released until now but After reading all your posts i fill like i have read the book myself or at the least the parts that really wanted to read so i can happily move on to another novel now☺️☺️☺️
Thank you for the spoiler! I usually defend "sh*tty" characters as they're (just) characters that act according to setting. For me characters with bad personality is different than badly written characters. The Crown seems fall to first one. In fact, I quite like the uncle, the grandpa, and their progress. But maaannn... the fact the novel didn't address the neglect is so disappointing. I like the MC and her initial stubborness tho. Her moment when she 'guilty tripping' them is so XDDD
