Hi! I’m pretty sure I never read any chinese novel, and so, I’d like you to recommend me any Chinese novel you think is cool/worthwhile. I don’t have any criteria, just want to try new things
Coiling Dragon is the OG go to for chinese light novels. Soul land series and ISSTH or any that ER gen write is good.
My House of Horrors - hilarious main character, edge of your seat suspense, lots of cultural folklore, superstition and serial killers that are afraid of MC. Renegade Immortal - very raw and hard path to immortality, filled with loss, hatred, revenge and enlightenment about the meaning of life, 'what is dao'. Tears of blood, manly tears. (no i didn't cry, something got in my eye!). Lovely Belle - good short porn that's very Chinese , with the sounds being written out , like bullied lady 'wuwuwu'. Cultivation Chat Group - hilarious adventure when an average student accidentally joins a chat group for immortal cultivators and then goes through fortune and despair alternatingly but grows very fast. Reverend Insanity - cultivation novel but the author made it dark, anti-tropes, anti-social and a bit graphical at parts. A great journey by someone that uses whatever it takes to achieve his goals. The Devil’s Cage - Interesting game setting where they hop through scenarios and death ingame is death in real life, gains loads of overpowered abilities which each get their development throughout. Tales of Herding Gods - The typical boy gets taught by a senior, except it's a village of crippled seniors and they're all unique and eccentric god-like figures of the past and they teach the kid like it's common sense to be at least that good. My Wife is a Beautiful CEO - The typical harem in the city novel, one of the few that actually does it right and has good character depth and world building. Shen Yin Wang Zuo - Great character development and most of the time it's about how the team works together and not a sole protagonist that can do everything himself. With each team member having a well built personality and good interactions between them. Dragon Blood Warrior - no comment *blushes* Thriller Paradise - guy that has a problem with his brain which renders him unable to feel 'fear' at all starts playing an online game that measures your fear level and challenges you in various ways in movie or other plot stories. Imagine a very chaotic personality with immense intelligence and no fear and watch him mess with plot in various ways. Gourmet of Another World - very repetitive as you keep going, but things like dragon sweet'n sour ribs and phoenix wing bbq is just too enticing to give up reading. It greatly showcases how in Chinese culture everything is food if you're hungry enough.
