    I accidentally meet an old best friend with whom I've lost all contact for years. the awkwardness between us now can be cut with a knife. I miss our old interactions. It's a bit sad how time just...drove us away from each other :blobcry:

    A screen-shot of a 5/6/1947 memo from 20CF boss Darryl F. Zanuck in which he told actress Celeste Helm to get even thinner for the film "GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT". Yep, my all-time favorite movie company was for a long time ruled by a guy who was vile person. This was just over 5 years before the founder of the Fox movie empire, William Fox (1/1/1879-5/8/1952), died. For Paramount Pictures fans, Paramount had its 40th b-day the same day that Mr. Fox died. Let's not forget that when Mr. Fox was ruling the Fox media empire, Paramount was his main rival.

    Mandatory 7AM-3PM work day on 5/1 for me. Getting up before 5 AM to take 2 buses downtown? Ugh! Hopefully Uber is running that early.

    I would assume it is due to how humans have genetically engineered domesticated chickens. Humans are not breeding the best flyers; they are breeding the fattest ones with the most meat, which also makes it harder for chickens to sustain flight.
    They can probably still glide to a certain extent after jumping, if you still consider that as flying.

    There may be an explanation regarding the existence of gravity. However, I am in no way well-versed in string theory or quantum physics. But apparently, it has to do with higher-level dimensions and a particle known as a graviton?

    I know that it was common back then to erase and tape over silent film reels which sucks in retrospect. Then again, they didn't have a lot of convenient film preservation technology back then. Still the 1937 Fox film vault fire is probably the single worst instance of mass extinction for silent films and early talkies. Just how bad was the fire? The following quote from the Wikipedia page called "1937 Fox vault fire" says it well. Little Ferry is a NJ borough in the NYC metro area.

    Respectively, the 2019 esti. values for the bracketed "B" part is $2.67-$3.56 million and $35,600 for the bracketed "C" part.
