Shouldn’t they be asking for the source instead of sauce I always see people using sauce so was curious
Yeah, when someone first asked me for sauce here I was really confused thinking why would they want me to give them cheek. Ofc, as a decent guy then I refused to humour them.
Annoying slang but at least better than retards who write "of" instead of have, I really hate those people.
It's genuinely part of some dialects in the world. I think it's a normal thing in conversation here in Scotland. Like, it's common to hear someone say, "I could of gone to the shops", or something.
Ah, yes. The "sauce" which makes the dishes more magically delicious. Yes, it's a long living slang since immemorial times.
They're similar but different, which is why even the speaker sometimes doesn't pick up on which one they're using. It becomes clearer when people get angry and/or add emphasis For example, if someone is making fun of you by saying that you never would have or could have done something, people will often respond by drawing out the phrase and adding emphasis. So then you can really hear the difference between "I could have!" and "I could of!" We do also use "could've", but it has a distinct lack of 'o' in it. "You could of" is also just nicer and softer, if you ask me, even when it's coming out at a hundred-miles-an-hour as we tend to speak.
Well sauce and source sound the same so i never had that confusion. Its one of those things that just slipped through and you don't know how you know it
