    Questionable...
Could be better, could be worse for fan translation...

As long as it doesn't affect manga scanlations, it's all fine. JP LN and I don't move in the same circles. :blobpeek:

Does that mean more licensed novels that Kadokawa have? If so then it could be good, just hope they don’t turn J-Novel into The atrocity that is Yen Press.

Crossing my fingers. Even though I also use Bookwalker, I like the way J-Novel is laid out now.

I don't mind the smaller library because it means that each gets translated quickly and J-Novel is quite good at picking the interesting titles. Having the bargaining power to snatch even more interesting titles is good, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice the price point/quality for it.

    Is Yen Press particularly bad?
    Please forgive my ignorance

Considering they look down on fan translators and such.

I personally do not like how they ruin some novels by taking out the honorifics since it can ruin the immersion in certain novels, Death March/Mahouka Koukou is an example.

They also apparently messed up some translations and refuse to acknowledge it.

Delay’s are also an issue occasionally.

Huh I’m curious to the what messed up translations were.

Also just hope Jnovel keeps its consistent speed. 1 part per week is just really nice and ends up making around 4-7 volumes per year depending on how many parts there are. Compared to Yenpress which is usually around 2-3 volumes per year, I tend to forget about them and just check on their releases once every 1-2 years.

It's not. Their translation quality is solid and their release pace is good.

Main complaints people have about Yen Press is that Kadokawa sent take down requests on the fantranslations of the novels they licensed.

I hope J-novel doesn't become another Seven Seas.

Is that the publisher where they edited out certain parts of light novels. I know one publisher did it yet can’t recall which it was.
